He was my favourite Bond.

My granny used to tell us how she dated him when she was 15 when she worked for the milk man.

Grin

go listen to some chris brown

He’s another one isn’t he. Still selling records. Now even Adele, who can do no wrong in here and in the USA, is bezzie mates with him. She needs her head checking. And how has he had such a steady stream of girlfriends? What self-respecting woman...
GabsAlot · 31/10/2020 17:12

i dont even wknowhy adele is even friends with him how does it benefit her

fgs that was 1965 when he stated that - 55 years ago
and 15 years or so ago 2006, he retracted it.

but no, you hang him
come on a RIP thread,

An excellent post - just such a pity it has to be posted at all.

No matter how ‘pretty’ the abuser, the blood and bruises remain the same.

Exactly!

Most of his career was 55 years ago as well but the people feting him are happy to bring that up.

There's people who get through life without ever having beaten a woman (or man) or even said it was acceptable to hit women.

Fact is if someone chooses to have the kudos fame gives them, keep themselves in the limelight then if there's attention on them always. If that person is a good person there is no "dirt" that can be dug up. If they are in favour of hitting so called uppity women and also do beat them then why does that need to be ignored

Was his retraction an apology, claim hitting women is wrong and statement that he was ashamed of his past behaviour?

Nobby Stiles died yesterday, don't think there was an RIP thread about him. Nothing negative said about him either as far as I know. Probably because he was a good person.

All the cries on other threads of "You can't talk about abuse allegations as fact without a criminal conviction because it ruins men's lives " looking even less convincing than usual.

So uplifting to be reminded that men's reputations are valued above women's lives time and time again.

I do wonder if/when we will ever get to a point, as a society, where we really have zero tolerance for DA, and other forms of male VAWG.

We have moved on depressingly little since the way the Ancient Greeks and Romans treated women. I don't think any of us will see anything like the changes we wish for in our lifetimes.

Do you know what BIH means? Burn in hell!

Some of these comments.... if some women won’t stand together with other women against violence against our sex, what hope do we have.
Sick of “celebrities” being revered and having their vile slates wiped clean and past actions seemingly forgotten about. Was shocked and saddened by Adele’s friendship with Chris Brown and find some of these comments so so disheartening in any progress against violence towards women.
I feel for his family but he was a misogynist, sexist, hypocritical, arrogant shit.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.

My mum used to work in a hotel in St Andrews in the 70s. She met Sean Connery on several occassions. She said he was very polite and he would always tip.

I watched very few Bond films after Pierce Brosnan, so my favourite film was Octopussy therefore Roger Moore was my favourite.

Wellhellyeah · 01/11/2020 06:31

Oh that's ok then. He Can beat up whoever he likes in private if he tips ok and is polite to someone he probably thought was beneath him.
