Announcement was supposed to be on monday and the details probably hadn’t been totally finalised, then the leak happened and now they are in a super panic trying to finalise it.

Hmm perhaps November wasn’t to best time to try and give up the wine for a month.

Went into work today (shopping, not work) and it's started- queuing outside by customers, not had that for a long time, took about 10 minutes to get in. Tins were looking low, toilet rolls looking a bit decimated, veg quite low in places.
It's going to be hell in work this week. Wish me luck!

The childrens commissioner does not want children kept away from schools, talked about vulnerability etc. the elephant in the room being that we know exactly why some children need school, but no-one will come out and say why.

Perhaps Boris is going to announce it actually on Strictly, whilst dancing a Charleston with Karen Clifton? He'll be wearing cuban heels & one of those unbuttoned sequined shirts. We've suffered enough.

I'm not watching. I had lunch with DD, who I think is in denial that she won't get full pay for a month.

I also have a huge bottle of gin. I went panic-Christmas shopping buying this morning. I think I may have bought a lot of random stuff.

Went for a walk with DD as it was getting dark. We were pumpkin-spotting. We saw a few families doing socially-distanced trick or treating, & in some houses we could see people watching News 24, waiting for Boris.

DD sighed & said, "There are 2 types of people tonight, those waiting for Boris & everyone else."
Just remembered, I know someone who is due to go on a trip of a lifetime on Thursday. Has been isolating to maximise their chances of passing a covid test on arrival. I hope they can change their ticket. I genuinely feel sorry for them.

This year was supposed to have been a bit of a celebration for my hairdresser. An independent family owned one that has been trading for forty years this December.
