Hi all

I couldn’t find the new thread so here is one I set up. It’s windy out there! Glad I weeded my flowerbeds a couple of days ago.

Out of all that, I'm not sure they'll close places of worship, oddly enough. My understanding is that there's an ongoing court case around that which last I heard was looking more successful than the majority of anti-lockdown court cases. (There are specific issues round freedom of religion which have extra bits of legal protection - I am very much not an expert but this is my understanding.) That said, places of worship have been doing a depressingly (for those of us who'd like to go to one) good job of closing themselves. (They'd have been very bad Early Christians. "Too much risk of being thrown to the lions today. Let's wait till Nero's calmed down a bit.")

@Pleasenomoreglitter

I can't face watching it. I'll read it afterwards. We're in the middle of an extension and just had the kitchen ripped out. I'm so stressed this is how my house might still be at Christmas. Hoping Peston's leak about construction means the builders can carry on Haloween Sad
Don`t think Boris can face it either he is now an hour and a half late appearing
@wanderings "outdoor exercise will be encouraged"
So my gyms closing down again.

I know its clutching at straws to think they could stay open but its the saver of my sanity. And I'm sorry but when you de stress using HIIT and some serious weight/resistance training then a walk in the autumn leaves doesnt cut it.
I feel your pain. I have specific exercise requirements because I have a back problem. I cannot get enough exercise doing stuff outside unless I also risk messing up my back by doing things I shouldn't (running, mostly). I'm now just hoping my current loss of condition doesn't make childbirth any harder than it would have.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 31/10/2020 17:36

@justasking111
Maybe he is having trouble pushing a really big poo out.
😁

Fingers crossed for you xx

I've gone all out with Hallowe'en decorations this year: not a single trick or treater to see my Boo for Boris pumpkin! Haloween Sad Obviously their parents are glued to the TV, for the true bellend who is late.

I mean, he's losing the public respect before he's even started.

Still clinging to the hope that outdoor sport (netball) is allowed, if "outdoor exercise is encouraged", as speculated on.

RobinHobb · 31/10/2020 17:44

Fuck
Not much else to say

110APiccadilly · 31/10/2020 17:47

Thanks @LivinLaVidaLoki. It's been the last couple of weeks I've had to accept I'm not likely to get gym access back before baby comes! (Had it for a blissful few weeks, then my gym - a uni one - closed to non students because of worries about mixing Town and Gown.) It just makes me so frustrated. Here I am, doing my absolute best to look after myself ahead of a significant physical effort I'll need to make, and here come the government/ university bosses doing what feels like their absolute best to stop me!

LivinLaVidaLoki · 31/10/2020 17:48

Got the beeb on. Reeta asked why if primary school children don't get or transmit covid should they not get an education.
The fucking pleb on there said "1 percent of children in primary school have coronavirus"
1 fucking percent. And hes just brushed off the issue of childrens mental health. May as well have said "don't give a shit, love"

LivinLaVidaLoki · 31/10/2020 17:51

I find the whole thing odd @110APiccadilly
Considering we should be in our best health should we get covid, the benefits to your cardio and respiratory system of exercise, not to mention the mental health benefits. If they are covid safe ((shudder)) then they should be allowed to stay open.

NeedWineNow · 31/10/2020 17:56

Is he ever going to make an appearance, or is he sitting in the toilet yelling 'no I don't wanna tell them, they'll HATE me ' through the door....

Just when you think they couldn't get any worse.....

MercyBooth · 31/10/2020 17:57

Currently 3 patients in Broomfield Hospital with Covid. A relative of someone i know ( someone who i used to work with years ago) just posted in a fb group discussion.

JamSarnie · 31/10/2020 17:58

Anyone else pissed off with the delay. DH insists on watching Boris so my Saturday evening is on hold until the doom and gloom show has finished.

Hitting the Wine

wanderings · 31/10/2020 17:58

We should be hearing this OFFICIALLY from the bellend's horse's mouth FIRST, not in press leaks and "sources say" first.

I mean, has he no shame?? Or is it that he has so much shame, he dare not show his face?

NeedWineNow · 31/10/2020 17:58

DH had suggested they're still trying to work it out on the back of a fag packet. Either that or Dominic hasn't told him what he can say yet.

justasking111 · 31/10/2020 18:00

Maybe it is the unions, they seem pretty wound up the ones we have seen today

I think you've hit the nail on the head.
Bollss · 31/10/2020 18:01

I'm not watching it. That blonde wanker doesn't deserve a single minute of my time.

How are we going to get through this ads? Any tips?!

Dowser · 31/10/2020 18:02

@NeedWineNow
😂😂😂
He’s probably at a sd halloween party with wilfy

110APiccadilly · 31/10/2020 18:02

Maybe he's decided against lockdown and is now having a row with Whitty and Vallance - soon to descend into bare knuckle boxing. He will appear with a black eye, dragging their unconscious forms behind him.

justasking111 · 31/10/2020 18:02

Anyone noticed the public health announcement makes the deaths today 52 less than the worldometer has put up. Are they playing that game again. Back in April, May I noticed them doing this. Just lobbing 50 in every day pushing figures up

Bollss · 31/10/2020 18:04

Ooh I hope so. That would be more interesting than the shite he usually comes out with. Perhaps it will be his immediate resignation.

I think all we can do is keep on with what we have been doing. Supporting each other, with good humour, rude veggies and virtual hugs. But being mindful that this will be hard and we'll likely need each other more.

With irreverent humour, random tangents and lots of AD hugs for the days when we struggle.

We are here for each other Flowers
