Hi all

I couldn’t find the new thread so here is one I set up. It’s windy out there! Glad I weeded my flowerbeds a couple of days ago.

I agree, do some exercise, I use to clean the same bit of kitchen floor when I was having regular panic attacks. Not the whole floor, just small areaBlush. My chest is tight today so I am feeling panicked, I have to remember to breathe properly.
Yesterday I bought some new books and the new Hairy bikers vegetarian cookbook, so trying to look forward to forcing the family to eat vegetarian mealsGrin. I’m the only vegetarian in family and it’s lonely.
Hope everyone feels better soon.

Now wondering whether to swop all the veg for wine on my tescos delivery for tomorrow.

justasking111 · 31/10/2020 13:12

You need 103 bottles of wine to beat the record on here Grin

MissEWeatherwax · 31/10/2020 13:16

I’m going to read my new book, sad I know.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 31/10/2020 13:33

I like to think that the 4pm conference will be to tell us that whilst this is still on the table if needed, we are not locking down now we need to give the measures time to work (look at liverpool), then some blubbering about leaks etc.
After all, he has never done this for any other "leak"

DominaShantotto · 31/10/2020 13:38

I've been buying fairy lights to put all over the place. Fuck it if I'm going down I'm going down in a twinkly blaze of glory.

My anxiety is tolerable - but I'm on the max dose of medication to get it that way.

Fingers crossed for this. Holding on to the tatters of my sanity right now.

I will be reading this afternoon while rugby roars in the background Grin

There is something on BBC about not sure if secondary schools will stay open. I have one doing GCSEs and other just started and settled in, enjoying it after the months of being home. Really concerned about that.

Crack on @DominaShantotto I bought tinsel yesterday B&M do not give a flying fart what you buy (thumbs up)
justasking111 · 31/10/2020 13:50

B&M the malteser mint biscuits are divine (moans in ecstasy)

DominaShantotto · 31/10/2020 13:54

Being fair I need to increase the light levels in the conservatory now the dark nights are drawing in - fairy lights are just a cheap way to do it easily

Boris Bollock Show now back to 5pm apparently

justasking111 · 31/10/2020 14:06

Last xmas my friend gave me one of those cork things with lights attached that you put in bottles. I have a glass jug on mantelpiece so stuffed it in there. Looks so pretty. I am thinking of buying a pack of them to wind in and out of different things to put on at night, they are very pretty.

MissEWeatherwax · 31/10/2020 14:08

Boris is never on time for anything. My fairy lights are up all year. I have some that look like old bulbs.
They really are sucking the joy out of fucking life. On Facebook the police are posting how to have a Covid safe Halloween party. Stream music, why don’t they just say play music( steaming sounds more sexy) and have a zoom party. How is it a party is you are staring at a screen. Zoom and team meeting are my nightmare. Also watch a scary film, fuck me has everyone forgotten how to do anything. We will be watching Strictly then Nightmare on elm street. I would be drinking but have to collect my DD from work about 9.30.
Shame because I could take a drink every time Boris shakes his fist to make a point Gin

bakingcupcakes · 31/10/2020 14:14

I feel miserable this afternoon. DS is refusing to leave the house (to be fair the weather is shit) so he's watching YouTube and I'm scrolling through stuff on my phone. I've got this impending sense of doom that I can't shake off. Really hoping I get to go to work on Monday. And that there's actually some work for me to do.

I'm assuming the delayed start time for the shit show this afternoon is because they haven't actually made a plan yet. This doesn't instill confidence.

NothingIsWrong · 31/10/2020 14:28

Have flocked with my Mum and middle son to the super posh garden centre (Burford). I am currently buying wildly expensive presents for my sisters birthday and my cousins new baby to pretend all is good with the world.

And cake, obviously there is cake :-)

DrDiva · 31/10/2020 14:36

DS is very sad he can’t go out trick or treating with his friends. It’s the dressing up and scaring each other but he misses. So I have just used a toilet roll to make him into a mummy.

I’m sure many on other threads will now hold me personally responsible for any toilet roll shortage that may be in the offing.

Found you all. I thought everyone had gone quiet. Should’ve known better 😁

The sun is finally peeping out and teasing us here but I refuse to be conned into thinking it’s safe to put the washing out.

Loving the sound lyrics, Mad World popped up on my fb feed a few weeks ago, not in a covid related way, but I did think how appropriate it was.

@MercyBooth - thank you for the tip about Sainsburys on last thread for pumpkins.

Nowhere had any - usually everywhere does - but Sainsburys had some munchkin pumpkins -no large ones -which had to do with couple of mini turnips.

Sainsburys greed with me they were turnips but DH instead they were sweeds Hmm. Kids sent photos to their friends and turns out we were lucky to get those - and there were only a few left.

We've managed to carve them though this morning it was looking doubtful we'd be able to put them out as weather was horrendous.

Both DD have dressed up to the nines but as we do every year we've spent most of the day baking and cooking - I've had to clean the kichen at least three times.

I'm glad DH bought a Christmas Morrison box as going around the supermarkets wasn't a pleasant experience - nor was queuing to get in in the rain and don't fancy doing our normal touring around late November and December.

MercyBooth · 31/10/2020 15:30

Boris can shove it The lockdown and the press conference Its Peter Cushing day on the Horror Channel. So im watching someone who had a lot of talent. Unlike our PM.

LadyOfTheImprovisedBath · 31/10/2020 15:31

OHH - I might suggest that to DH for something to watch now - it's the lull before we start tea and more baking.
