On our second hailstorm of the day. Would like to go out later

Champagneforeveryone · 28/10/2020 13:50

missconduct the very last thing I shall be doing is giving DH actual words to describe the malady Grin

Spudlet · 28/10/2020 14:11

I have brownies in the oven again... our household brownie consumption level is definitely creeping up again 😬

I have compensated for this by having an apple as part of my lunch 👍

HelloDulling · 28/10/2020 14:16

DD just made pizza for lunch. DS and I now watching Bake Off.

Bathroom floor is going down right now.

soddingkitten · 28/10/2020 14:26

DS made us fresh pizza for lunch. It was great.

Champagneforeveryone · 28/10/2020 14:56

DS and I are going to the tip

FawnDrench · 28/10/2020 15:19

Had crumpets for lunch (again)

Nearly all my fuchsias have re-flowered again, some for the third time this year - it's both lovely to see and disconcerting at the same time.

DH might finish work a bit earlier today - or he might not.

EggyPegg · 28/10/2020 16:36

We went for a muddy play at the park, including a muddy game of rugby and cricket. I had put DC in waterproofs, so they came home reasonably clean once stripped off. DH drove home in just his socks because I told him that he could clean my car if he got in with those shoes. MILs suede shoes aren't looking to healthy. All showered, washing on and now DS1 is watching Age of Ultron AGAIN, DS2 playing cards with MIL and I'm in my pyjamas reading my book, with a cup of tea. Lovely.

mathanxiety · 28/10/2020 16:50

I looked out the window this morning and saw it was snowing, but nothing was sticking. The clouds have now cleared and it's lovely and bright. Snow though... It's time to find my winter boots.

DS's lavender plant has officially died. He asked me to put it in my sunny bay window to see if I could resuscitate it after it became very poorly in his apartment, and I have failed miserably.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 28/10/2020 16:55

I am back home from work.
DD and I will have soup for our evening meal - she is doing the cooking.

OublietteBravo · 28/10/2020 17:20

I should be doing my German homework, but I’m procrastinating.

forgetthehousework · 28/10/2020 17:41

We were going to go for a walk but then it rained and I started doing something else, so we didn't.
I really fancy sausage-in-a-bun for tea and we actually have both sausages and rolls in the kitchen ...

MissConductUS · 28/10/2020 17:56

This is probably wise. Of course, if you can get him to hospital the NHS will tell him that there's nothing wrong with him.

Alternatively, you could tell him that's it's ebola or Marburg fever and see it that shakes him up a bit.

@EggyPegg did the machines finish at the same time, too?

plominoagain · 28/10/2020 18:13

Took dog out for walk . Got thoroughly rained on halfway through whilst on phone to pension company . Can’t be arsed to cook so have sent DH to chip shop for chips to go with chicken Kiev’s . Lazy day .

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 28/10/2020 18:32

@OublietteBravo

Nu komm, tu Butta bei die Fische un' mach hinne!

I am doing my homework, too.

Taswama · 28/10/2020 19:29

I have just downloaded a new audio book for DS1. Its all about maths.

Our fuchsias are also looking lovely.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/10/2020 19:52

I got a bunch of celery for 14p in sains. Chopped up in the freezer ready for sofrito 🙌

FawnDrench · 28/10/2020 20:53

Went to B&M today.
Spent loads - it's like a whole shop of Lidl in the middle and the Aldi aisle of tat on a much larger scale.

Apparently the initials stand for the people who started it up - Billington and Mayman.
But for me, it means Big Mistake, as I came home with a mountain of "stuff".

Hey ho, we now have enough Oxo cubes, dog poo bags and shower gel to last a lifetime - what fun!

EggyPegg · 28/10/2020 21:01
@EggyPegg did the machines finish at the same time, too?
They did not. The dishwasher finished a good five minutes before the washing machine. So one of them lies.

KingscoteStaff · 28/10/2020 21:07

I saw a beautiful English Pointer on the beach this morning.

Champagneforeveryone · 28/10/2020 21:34

DS and I went to the tip but missed the place to park to drop what we had in the car. As the tip is a crescent shape we went out the exit and back in, only to be confronted by the tip police a council worker who would not allow me in as it was closing time.

My cheery explanation was met with a shrug and a "that's not my problem" and I was forced to return home with a car full of crap.

I am torn between outrage and amusement at such dedication to duty.

EggyPegg · 28/10/2020 21:40

I have just been looking at the webcams of where we skiied this year and are booked to go to next Christmas. There's even snow on the nursery slopes at the foot of the mountain too. All this has done is put me in a grump that I can't go any time soon. I'm my own worst enemy.

TheSilveryPussycat · 28/10/2020 22:41

I see your bunch of celery and raise you 2 packs of asparagus tips for 20p

I have just cried my way through watching Ambulance.

Spudlet · 29/10/2020 08:19

@FawnDrench I love B&M! It’s a whole palais du tat, and I just love it. Last time I went there it was for olaypit sand and stickers, and I ended up impulse buying a child size garden chair, which DS proceeded to sit on in the queue.

We are getting my parents old (plastic, obvs) Christmas tree, which is a good two or three feet taller than their old old (plastic) Christmas tree which we have had for years. So I think I may need to visit B&M to stock up on extra baubles and tinsel, or we’re going to have bald patches Confused
