My feet are really cold

Orangeblossom7777 · 26/10/2020 11:08

Had some nice granola with banana for breakfast, sun is out so far today here

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 26/10/2020 11:35

@Frownette
Thanks, I took meds and got myself back into a cool dark room. The nausea is gone, yay.
The workmen are running their compressor in front of the building.

It's not very nice when you don't know if it's going to get worse or not :)

Back to dull and uninteresting: I have the same conversation with someone every time I see him:

Him: how are you?
Me: yes ok and you?
Him: livin' the dream (sardonic tone)
Me, exasperated: but you always say that
Him: always

I suppose I could pin him down and ask him what he really means but he's got a good foot on me/Jan Claude van Damme build (or whatever he's called?) and I don't feel like making a commotion in the city centre.

@Imissmoominmama it must be Margaret Thatcher

DS just let himself out of the front door while
I was putting the shopping away Shock I nearly had a heart attack at the gates were open - fortunately he’d headed around to the back to get his toy toaster put of his shed. He’d even closed the door behind him 🙈

I have now locked the door, for what that’s worth - he knows how to unlock it, and I’m pretty sure he knows which key is which as well. It would just slow him down a bit... thank goodness he wasn’t daft enough to wander into the road.

I’m going to have a restorative bit of brownie in front of Moana with him shortly.

DD has made an appearance (uni has not restarted yet) and DS just came back from school.
They are debating food - at the moment I do not care either way.
Oh, and now DD started a lecture on drying the bathroom after use Grin

SpeedofaSloth · 26/10/2020 13:29

I am interspersing housework with Mumsnetting with keeping DS on track with his science homework. DD is being very self sufficient today and only really appearing when she is hungry.

Squirrel26 · 26/10/2020 13:44

I am having a coffee. My new duvet cover should arrive today. It is a soothing plain grey/blue colour.

Champagneforeveryone · 26/10/2020 13:47

DH has taken DDog2 for a walk and DS has gone to mow one of his old ladies lawns.

I am alone in the house for a few blessed minutes.

MissConductUS · 26/10/2020 13:49

@EggyPegg Your feline overlord cat is beautiful! And the couch is hers, she just lets you use it.

@Imissmoominmama When I was growing up we had milk delivered to the house but it's gone out of fashing here decades ago, probably due to people drinking less milk. One company would leave it in an insulated box by the front door, another we tried would come into the house and put it in the fridge if the door was unlocked. I was surprised it's still home delivered in the UK. I saw a post on MN not that long ago about someone whose milk was regularly stolen who put a stop to it by getting up early to take it in, then adding a load of salt to it before carefully resealing the bottle and putting it back outside. That ended the milk being stolen.

I can have lunch today but only if I eat it before noon, and I'm fully prepared to do so. Smile

I miss getting glass bottles of milk on the doorstep, the birds would usually get to it first and have a peck at the foil cap

ShrimpSymphony · 26/10/2020 15:18

My new mattress is too soft I feel like I’m lying on a giant sponge

HelenaJustina · 26/10/2020 16:14

I took the DC for a long walk And a picnic lunch somewhere beautiful. They are now quietly crafting while I sort - -throw away- - the contents of the utility room.

I have cleaned out two kitchen cupboards, this must make me some kind of domestic goddess (compared to normal, anyway).
However the paint is chipping off our microwave so I guess it's time for a new one soon. This one is possibly older than my DC.

Frownette · 26/10/2020 16:29

That looks lovely Helena.

I may well have written this post myself as I too have 2 beautifully presented cupboards and a peeling microwave
Prokupatuscrakedatus · 26/10/2020 17:49

My head seems to be back into working order.
I have rewritten my to do list and shifted everything from today to tomorrow or the end of the week.

Congratulations to the owners of beautifully arranged cupboards!

EggyPegg · 26/10/2020 18:25

Thank you @MissConductUS. And you're right, it is hers.

I have replaced the four year old cheap, white, plastic-y shower curtain (that showed every millimetre of grime) with a grey fabric one. I also bought a grey and yellow bathmat. My bathroom has a whole new lease of life. However I have just had a shower, and the grey curtain is between the light and the bath, so it's darker than it used to be whilst showering now.

TheSilveryPussycat · 26/10/2020 18:25

My first copy of Vogue Knitting arrived today. (I don't know if this counts, as I was quite excited.)

EggyPegg · 26/10/2020 18:28

It must be a cleaning day. I have cleaned every inch of my bathroom prior to putting up the new shower curtain. Mind you, I was incentivised by the fact that MIL is coming to stay tomorrow.

We have ours delivered three times a week with Milk & More
Prokupatuscrakedatus · 26/10/2020 18:33

The craftshop chain I buy my stuff in has started a Christmas themed ricorumi crochet along. I am slightly tempted.
But I have an oversized sheeps wool pulli to finish.

Quillink · 26/10/2020 18:50

I cleaned out the fridge this evening. Freezer tomorrow if I'm home on time.

FawnDrench · 26/10/2020 18:54

Several people have told me that Strictly was "very good" at the weekend, but I've no idea as I don't watch it at all.

Realised I only have 3 onions left - two white and one red one.

DH is presently making us a nice cup of tea.

SpeedofaSloth · 26/10/2020 18:59

It's 3 cupboards now. On a roll Halloween Grin
