I've started a new one. Please join us and share the boring and mundane things happening in your world. It will be calming for all.

Listeing to Radio 6 music with a glass of wine. Playing lovely song Northern Sky. The rain is falling hard here as well.

soddingkitten · 24/10/2020 23:46

Sodding is showing intermittent interest in Dreamies (pack says cat treats but we all know they’re cat crack). He must be feeling better because he’s started scratching the sofas again. 🙄

Dominos was so busy this evening their site wasn’t taking orders in our area. I went out and picked up takeaway sushi instead.

MissConductUS · 25/10/2020 00:50

Thanks for the update on Sodding. It's great to hear that he's on the mend. 😃😼

The tweezers have been used after trying to let my wonky brows grow out.

KoalaRabbit · 25/10/2020 01:17

We have a log burner but always been too nervous to use it in a thatched cottage and also the rabbit loves to sit on top of it. The cat thinks its not an issue to start it with rabbit on top Grin

We have a solicitor and offer agreed on house.

I've just had a cup of tea and bourbon biscuits. Had very little sleep in past 24 hours so feeling shattered.

Been watching Netflix Interior Design Masters. Good luck for the test MissC, don't envy you with that one, do you have to drink the 2 litre chemical cocktail like we get in UK on NHS?

Spudlet · 25/10/2020 08:10

Ooooh, well done for fending the attempted trolley thief off, @MissConductUS! I bet she took a fancy to your reusable bags.

All rather civilised here this morning, DS actually obeyed the gro-clock and as a result we managed to get a bit of a lie-in with the clock change! Even ddog didn’t start creating too early (no gro-clock for him, sadly). It’s a beautiful morning here and if it wasn’t for my wonky leg I would be looking forward to a run, but I‘ve decided to rest it over half-term, do plenty of yoga and stretching, have a sports massage on the first Monday back at school, then see how it is. Fingers crossed I’ll be back out there soon.

Taswama · 25/10/2020 08:49

DP was somewhat surprised to hear DS2 reading his book at silly o'clock this morning. The fact that the clocks were going back had passed him by.
I had mentioned it earlier in the week when I saw a notice on my online banking app that the service would be unavailable overnight Sat - Sunday due to the clocks changing and he'd said something about their mainframe computer.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 25/10/2020 09:41

I've finally ordered my daylight lamp and a book about chemical reactions bc. I've already got elements and molekules and it was reduced.

DH announced his intention of baking a 'Zwetschgenkuchen' (I call this fruit Pflaume - plum).
The papers are being ignored.

MissConductUS · 25/10/2020 10:30

@KoalaRabbit Yes, it's the same awful nasty stuff we have to drink here as part of the prep. I have a gastrointestinal condition that puts me at elevated risk for colon cancer so I have to get scoped annually. It's much easier to get done here. My doctor does it in his office.

@Spudlet The bags are lovely, and as you'd expect from a builder, very sturdy.

We don't set the clocks back here until 1 Nov so I suppose the time gap from NY to the UK has been temporarily reduced to 3 hours.

I took DD to work a bit ago. She has to be there by 6:00 AM on Sunday. A fox ran across the road in front of us on the way there and a raccoon on the way back. It's almost 6:30 here and still pitch dark.

Well, Sodding is definitely on the mend. We’d lined up his reward Dreamies yesterday when he was doing a positive behaviour we have encouraged with clicker training and treats because he wasn’t hungry. He snaffled them all this morning when no-one was looking. He’s also been standing by his locked cat flap shouting to go out. I told him I wasn’t unlocking it until he ate a decent meal so I knew he was better. He ate a small bowl of home broiled chicken breast. I unlocked the cat flap but it was raining heavily, so he then sat by the door complaining about the weather. It’s lovely to have our noisy, bossy boy back. Smile

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 25/10/2020 10:58

Great to hear about Sodding!

I have found out how to do speech recogition on my babbel system. I'll try it out on my courses as soon as noone can hear me mistreating MFLs.

HelenaJustina · 25/10/2020 12:52

@Spudlet Jingo is one of my favourites. We’ve had an early lunch and are off to shop for winter coats for DC (though this may be too exciting for this thread, as it is causing excitement amongst DC!)

SpeedofaSloth · 25/10/2020 12:57

I might do a bit of knitting.

OublietteBravo · 25/10/2020 12:58

I am eagerly awaiting the delivery of my steam cleaner.

Orangeblossom7777 · 25/10/2020 13:05

I totally forgot to reserve the supermarket delivery slot for Friday so have had to change to Monday instead.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 25/10/2020 13:42

DH wants to go out and get ice cream from our favourite ice cream shop before they close for winter (those that make their own ice cream traditionally do this). He's putting his shoes on (it is getting exciting ...)

Spudlet · 25/10/2020 13:46

@HelenaJustina It’s a great one, isn’t it? And from your username, so I also spy a Falco fan too?

We’ve been geocaching again this morning, although with mixed results - we couldn’t find the first two we looked for anywhere. We did manage to find a third though, so not a dead loss. I’ve also given DH a haircut, and a bit of a razor rash on the back of his neck in the process Blush Oops!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 25/10/2020 13:54

I started an online free-motion quilting course yesterday. The teacher will be posting up a new video every Friday and having occasional video calls to help us with problems. It took me an hour to set up my machine correctly, mostly because I kept doing things in the wrong order and having go backwards to sort it out. It was useful.

soddingkitten · 25/10/2020 13:58

I coloured my hair this morning, banishing my roots for another six weeks. I cleaned the bathroom while the dye was taking.

Frownette · 25/10/2020 15:18

Dammit, my landlord just texted and wants me to sign something. I was about to respond yes SIR then realised I don't know where my keys or concealer is and I have to catch a taxi to my mother's to drop off food.

It's no fun being this scatty.

MissConductUS · 25/10/2020 16:21

The hospital just rang with my covid results, which were negative. I'm just back from the chemist, where I purchased the awful nasty chemical laxative I'm going to have to use tomorrow. And I have to skip lunch and dinner tomorrow. Fortunately, the procedure is at 9:00 AM Tuesday, so I can have breakfast right afterward

@soddingkitten thank you for the great news about Sodding. It's amazing how they work their way into our hearts, innit?

BaldAndWild · 25/10/2020 16:22

Yay for sodding! (unexpected phrase)

The carrots I got from a farm shop were getting purple patches so I have peeled them & am turning them into soup (with remnant potato & squash).

I've ordered a birthday cake for DD.

I listened to some Christmas songs earlier.

I might take some valarian later.

BaldAndWild · 25/10/2020 16:22

phew for negative results, MissConduct!

soddingkitten · 25/10/2020 16:31

I played DH a track from Chris Isaak’ Christmas (a whole album) yesterday, as I’m so over Michael Bublé’s stranglehold on our Christmas easy listening. Chris Isaak’s album is cheesy, but good cheesy. If anyone has good suggestions for slightly cheesy easy Christmas albums, I’m all ears.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 25/10/2020 16:31

Miss all the best!
I just did a timeline - if everything works out, I'll have the procedure on 2.12, 2 days in hospital, 3 weeks signed off, then we are closed for christmas and after that WFH as long as I can't negotiate the stairs and public transport.

And for relaxation: here are some sheep ... from the middle of the Ruhr area.
