Blimey @MissConductUS, is there anywhere that the doctor's aren't going to stick something this week?!

HelenaJustina · 24/10/2020 10:39

I’m sitting outside a ballet lesson waiting to take another DC to football. Such are my Saturdays.

soddingkitten · 24/10/2020 10:49

Thanks MsConduct and other dull newsters - your prayers have paid off. The vet opens at 11am today so DS2 and I decided to give him one last try with the fish fillet before we called the vet. We have interest and he’s eaten a tiny amount. 🎉 We are so, so relieved. He is our boys’ first cat and they are besotted, so have found his illness upsetting.

4amWitchingHour · 24/10/2020 10:53

We're having a family lie in (ie: DH and DS asleep). I'm listening to the rain, the wind howling every so often and enjoying the grey light coming gently through the blinds.

Peace is disturbed every so often by new neighbour's dog barking. Hope it's just unsettled from being in a new house rather than it becoming a permanent Saturday soundtrack Confused

4amWitchingHour · 24/10/2020 10:53

All the best to Sodding Smile

Spudlet · 24/10/2020 11:20

Oh, I’m so glad Sodding seems on the mend!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 24/10/2020 11:22

Cooked fish got our Felix back into eating.
He was so sick I called the emergency vet at 3 am for advise and our own vet gave him several injections to make him better.

Champagneforeveryone · 24/10/2020 11:43

DS is listening to Simon and Garfunkel. As he's generally more of a MegaDeath / Iron Maiden type of guy, this is both unsettling and at the same time a pleasant change Grin

TheSilveryPussycat · 24/10/2020 12:14

I put a croissant in the oven to heat, then forgot about it. Luckily I like very brown croissants.

MissConductUS · 24/10/2020 12:30

Blimey *@MissConductUS*, is there anywhere that the doctor's aren't going to stick something this week?!
That's a very good point @EggyPegg. I can think of one place, but the week's a long time and I could well have a patient try it on with me. Smile

I'm back from my run, showered, had some breakfast and took DD to her job. I may try to nip out for a quick shop before my covid swab.

Sodding That's great news that he's had a bit of fish but I hope you'll take him back to the vet for a follow up anyway. Feline gastro can have a lot of causes, including bacterial infection, parasites and parvovirus, which is really serious. Was he vomiting and having diarrhea?

@FairFridaythe13th

I had a really weird dream. I had woken up (in my dream) and found squirrels sleeping in the pockets of my nightdress. It was lovely actually.
I'm staying with a friend at present and I screamed my head off other day when he came in when I was fast asleep in an armchair and woke up screaming for my father to protect the intruder. He's been dead several years.
soddingkitten · 24/10/2020 13:17

Don’t worry, we are all a bit PFB about him. He was vomiting rather than diarrhoea, though hasn’t been sick since early yesterday morning. I rang the vet for advice earlier & they said to pop him in for another 24h anti-emetic and an anti-inflammatory, so he’s been topped up today. 🤞

OldLeatherSuitcase · 24/10/2020 13:18

I'm glad that sodding has eaten a little bit of fish.

My two kittens are asleep near me now - they're nearly six months old.

I have a pile of boring papers, junk mail, receipts and letters to sort out and then I need to walk to co op for some bread.

Taswama · 24/10/2020 13:23

DP went out earlier to test drive a car. He's back now, he didn't buy it. He says it was a waste of time, but that make and model is now off the list as the boot is too small for family holidays, so I don't think it was.

dolphinpose · 24/10/2020 13:29

I just posted a parcel to DS at uni and sent it Collect Plus instead of Royal Mail. Cheaper and the Londis drop off is far nearer than the Post Office.

Spudlet · 24/10/2020 13:29

We started trying to watch Spirited Away, but DS found it a bit scary, so now we’re watching Kiki’s Delivery Service. He really wanted Howl’s Moving Castle but we don’t have that one - just bought the DVD on eBay though so we’ll have it soon. They’re all on Netflix, but we cancelled it to save a bit of cash.

I’m re-reading Jingo - I haven’t read any Terry Pratchett in ages, and I’m really enjoying it.

dolphinpose · 24/10/2020 13:34

Sorry @Champagneforeveryone but that piece of boring news has me open jawed. I need more info. Why has he switched to Simon & Garfunkel? Did you play them when he was young and he's now old enough to feel nostalgic or has he 'discovered' them? I remember when DTeens 'discovered' disco music and the house was suddenly blaring Earth Wind & Fire - they were amazed I knew all the words and moves. Grin

SpeckledyHen · 24/10/2020 13:38

My washing and ironing 🧺 s are all empty .

Helocariad · 24/10/2020 13:46

We're watching Spirited Away tonight. Watched Ponyo with DD2 a few days ago. I'd forgotten how crazy it was Grin.

KoalaRabbit · 24/10/2020 13:47

Just having a cup of tea and some anti-histamines. Want to sleep but awaiting to hear back from estate agent. DH is cooking a roast pork dinner and DS was very excited as it includes carrots an his bunny loves carrots.

Imissmoominmama · 24/10/2020 13:50

@Helocariad- I love Ghibli!!

Spudlet · 24/10/2020 13:58

Ponyo is another one of DS’s favourites! He’s just a bit too small for Spirited Away - he finds the parents being turned into pigs too scary. He was hiding behind the kitchen door Blush

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 24/10/2020 13:59

DH started to sort through the paper amassed in his office. Paper overwhelms him, so now I've got a futon full of tiny heaps of paper and books and he started cooking instead.

Helocariad · 24/10/2020 14:25

@lmissmoominmama so am I Grin. @spudlet Spirited Away scared my youngest too last time we tried to watch it. Parents turned into pigs, snap. Also No Face weirded her out big time so we stopped half way through. She's a few years older now though Smile

Champagneforeveryone · 24/10/2020 14:53

dolphinpose I have no idea. He's a guitarist so we do get phases of different music, just none so strikingly different as this Grin
