I, too am now in lockdown. This thread is very helpful to this end. I have once again been shafted with regard to working the night shift when the clocks go back.
I have drunk some wine to assist with overcoming this mental hurdle.

BurtonHouse · 23/10/2020 23:19

We had burgers and salad for dinner (M&S, not any old rubbish), and now the kitchen smells like a greasy abattoir.

KoalaRabbit · 23/10/2020 23:39

Thanks MissC Our cat could win a catittude competition now she's older - she was delighted when lockdown started as the government had recognised she needed 4 staff 24/7. But she still has issues as sometimes one will go out and another will go to the bathroom and it makes her mad, she will howl until they are out of the bathroom.

Just had a Chinese and a Muller corner and have an offer on our house, probably too exciting for this thread but with covid it will move at a suitable pace. Half term starts now.

KoalaRabbit · 23/10/2020 23:40

We are still Tier 1 but nothing too exciting going on here with our weather.

MissConductUS · 24/10/2020 00:40

The dentist was very glad to see the brownies me. I gave him the crown that had come off and he couldn't get it to fit on the tooth. It turned out that I had two teeth that had lost crowns and it fit on the other. He is now making me a new crown for the missing one.

I found out what DH spent on DS's new laptop. It must be crafted from platinum. Between that princely sum and the cost of the new crown, we're now the Skint household. And I still have to pay for the extraction, bone graft and next spring, an implant.

DH made pizza for dinner. It was fab. DD seems less crabby for some reason, so tonight wasn't a complete disaster.

I dunno what's going on here - I felt quite queasy yesterday as I accidentally walked into local shop without a face mask.

I realised at the counter and was so distracted I couldn't focus and the bloke said he hadn't seen me for ages (about a year as I'd moved) and I managed to mutter out a hey joe from the Jimi Hendrix song which I always used to call him but felt like a criminal

OldLeatherSuitcase · 24/10/2020 01:28

Taswama and Soddingkitten good point about the likes changing things, hadn't thought of that.

How old is sodding?

jennie0412 · 24/10/2020 01:34

My mum brought me blueberry muffins and new coffee beans Smile

soddingkitten · 24/10/2020 07:08

OldLeather - He is 7 months old.

mathanxiety · 24/10/2020 07:24

Now that I've met him in person - his second visit went undocumented here - I have concluded that the plumber is a complete weirdo and also probably incompetent. He'll be attempting to install a new shower/bath knob on Saturday at 10 (= 2:45??). Third time lucky? I am regretting telling the landlord about the drippy showerhead.

soddingkitten · 24/10/2020 08:00

Sodding still hasn’t touched his food overnight. I only put a small portion of something delicious down to tempt him, but nope.😕 Have discussed with DH and we will try a tiny bit of white fish fillet from the freezer. If that doesn’t tempt him, I’ll be taking him back to the vet this morning. He has been drinking his water again, so I’m reassured a little but not much.

Taswama · 24/10/2020 08:06

DS2 has run out if boxer shorts. Well, clean boxer shorts. Ok, clean boxer shorts in his chest of drawers. There are plenty in the airing cupboard with other clean clothing waiting to be sorted out by him.

BaldAndWild · 24/10/2020 08:23

I hope sodding is ok.

I didn't get a job I really wanted and feel as though I should become a "new, improved me" but I'm eating delicious toast instead.

There's an assortment of things on the table - hair clips, dried leaves, yogurt pot, books, top trumps, papers, receipts. New improved me will sort it out later.

sueelleker · 24/10/2020 08:28

BurtonHouse; were they the Ultimate Burgers? They're gorgeous-I won't buy any others now.

ladygracie · 24/10/2020 08:31

Ooh I am going for a new improved me too BaldandWild! I planned to run every morning in half term. So far I’m still in bed!

sueelleker · 24/10/2020 08:32

It must be crafted from platinum and each key is set with a diamond?

Taswama · 24/10/2020 08:43

Half term doesn't really start until Monday though @ladygracie , today is just the weekend.

Squirrel26 · 24/10/2020 08:56

I have a load of stuff I need to do before I have to leave the house in an hour. Yet here I sit on the sofa.

KoalaRabbit · 24/10/2020 09:15

Ordered a flopsy bunny soft toy and having a cup of tea. Watching Netflix. Booked a pumpkin field tickets.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 24/10/2020 09:17

I am sorry to hear about Sodding!

I've cleaned the kitchen and am waiting for the water to boil to finish the bathroom.

ladygracie · 24/10/2020 09:18

Haha! Love that theory Taswama but now nothing will get done until Monday!! 🤣😬

FairFridaythe13th · 24/10/2020 09:22

I had a really weird dream. I had woken up (in my dream) and found squirrels sleeping in the pockets of my nightdress. It was lovely actually.

Spudlet · 24/10/2020 09:22

Sitting feeling sorry for myself with a hot water bottle. Aunty Flo is a proper bitch.

I have found a job I might quite like to apply for, debating whether I do or not. I should probably give them a call about it, but won’t really be able to do that until half term is finished as having a small child shriek ‘Hello Grandma!’ down the phone (which he does regardless of who I’m speaking to) probably won’t give the right professional impression...!

MissConductUS · 24/10/2020 09:26

So sorry to hear Sodding hasn't perked up. Not to sound too woo, but I've been praying for him.

I have to get swabbed for covid this morning. I'm having a colonoscopy on Tuesday (oh joy) and I have to have a negative test for the procedure.

EggyPegg · 24/10/2020 09:57

Hoping that Sodding perks up soon.

I'm just back from collecting a Thanos costume in DS2s size that I got for a meagre £3 on FB Marketplace. Will give it a bath (alas not machine washable) and that should pad out his (bloody massive) stocking nicely.
