I am watching Horrible Histories with DD.

plominoagain · 21/10/2020 19:24

I’ve just got up. Got DS to sort pizza out for him and DD because I can’t be arsed to make dinner from scratch . Have put horses to bed and will probably wake up at about midnight because I’ve been night duty for the last 4 days . Great .

PollyPelargonium52 · 21/10/2020 20:18

I was discussing with 15 yr old ds how old a teacher of his looks who is 60. Apparently she has bingo wings. I said although I am 57 next month I still have no bingo wings!

FawnDrench · 21/10/2020 20:46

A hair somehow managed to work itself to the inside of my glasses and after countless futile attempts, I have finally managed to successfully dislodge it, and can view the world unimpeded for now.

I'm considering purchasing a new pair of slippers to substantially improve the cosiness integrity factor of my feet during the forthcoming winter months.

And still it rains...

HelloDulling · 21/10/2020 21:08

@MissConductUS

Lands End has lovely women's pajama trousers with big side pockets. No frills either.

@HelloDulling - we had our shower ripped out and replaced in August and it was unavailable for about two weeks. We, fortunately, had another very small shower in another bathroom, so made do with that. How have you coped for so long?

We have been going to various friends every evening, and then just having a wash in the morning. It is VERY annoying.
SpeedofaSloth · 21/10/2020 21:19

There was a very nice locket on The Repair Shop tonight.

Taswama · 21/10/2020 21:23

I went to Holland and Barretts at lunchtime to buy malt extract. They didn't have any. So I will continue to use treacle instead in my beer bread recipe. I still managed to spend about £15 on various fruit and nuts there. I had a Saturday job there as a teenager and still have a soft spot for them.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 21/10/2020 21:24

I just hung up the washing and will go to bed soon as I have another long day before me.
It's not raining at the moment.

TheCanyon · 21/10/2020 21:29

My exciting news is I've got a VERY clean kitchen floor. Hurray... Said nae cunt this morning when my washing machine wouldn't drain and the last resort was opening the filter and mopping like feck.

My VERY exciting news is after two months of having a roll of carpet along my hall and into my bedroom, the carpet man phoned and came round tonight. This news is particularly exciting because it's dd1 room which is above the living room and she drops everything, so constant clattering be gone.

KoalaRabbit · 21/10/2020 22:15

I've had jacket potato with corned beef and now will have another Muller Corner. I'm so sleepy today keep falling asleep. DD has just been chatting to me about school and wants to do the Duke of Edinburgh award which I said is fine.

KoalaRabbit · 21/10/2020 22:47

Just had a cup of tea and bourbon biscuits and found out that St Bernards can be long haired and our neighbours giant dog is a long-haired St Bernard.

TenCornMaidens · 21/10/2020 23:07

My dd (13) spent a long time after school telling me show happy she is with her friends. GrinGrin Lovely. I played with the tortoise today. Off to bed now. Night night.

Frownette · 21/10/2020 23:27

Oh dear, friend just had his best friend of 30 years die. I couldn't get much sense out of him as he was so upset so got him to go to bed. I have to leave early so will talk to him properly when I get back.

EggyPegg · 21/10/2020 23:31

I made a second loaf on Monday, and actually got round to cutting into it today. It is much less dense than the first. Electric mixer all the way going forward I think. It was very nice and I had two slices, toasted, with lemon curd.

Valkadin · 22/10/2020 01:59

I sorted out all my clothes and have two black bin liners for the charity shop. I balled all my socks.

Quillink · 22/10/2020 06:26

I managed to get the slow cooker on before work.

Going to the post office for stamps later.

HelenaJustina · 22/10/2020 06:29

We had a mini power cut overnight and so when I came down 30 minutes ago, the dishwasher hadn’t run and neither had the washing machine. I’m struggling to find a breakfast coffee mug...

Pluckedpencil · 22/10/2020 06:59

I made a nice calming list with 1, 2, 3 steps to do for work. The children managed to get themselves dressed this morning. DD is 4 so this is a great achievement, even if she does look like she is going to a birthday party instead of nursery.

trevthecat · 22/10/2020 07:06

Kids last day of half term. Doing big shop this morning before they eat everything in the house next week

Champagneforeveryone · 22/10/2020 08:43

I am on annual leave and DH has a cold is Extremely Sick.

I see how this will manifest itself. At about midday he will totter downstairs with his newborn lambs walk. Then he will sit on the sofa in front of the TV, answering questions in a quavery little voice in case the questioner is in any doubt how sick he actually is. At about 5pm he will declare that he thinks he might manage a morsel to eat. By 6pm he will have eaten a full dinner and have declared himself "much better". Then he will be on rest days and will be hanging aimlessly round the house during my annual leave

sueelleker · 22/10/2020 08:56

@KoalaRabbit; Tesco are doing orange bourbons.

PollyPelargonium52 · 22/10/2020 08:59

I have started 10 mins yoga a day from a very old DVD. Helps the aches and pains and no need to book a monthly massage then. Win win.

MissConductUS · 22/10/2020 09:15

@Champagneforeveryone - Has the dressing gown of doom made an appearance? If he takes a turn for the worse, discuss funeral arrangements with him, just in case. Smile

I had a chicken taco and some tex/mex fried calamari last night. Now I'm off for a run in penance for the calamari.

First day of half term here so it was nice not to have to rush to get ready for school. Still in bed, teens slowly rising from their pits. And the sun is shining.

Champagneforeveryone · 22/10/2020 09:54

No dressing gown of doom yet, the old legs are too tottery to make it downstairs at the moment so the gown has yet to be utilised.

I estimate we have at least two more hours of peace.
