So yesterday didn't do a huge amount apart from visited DBRo's Goddaughter and her family with gift from me and my DM - so killed a few birds seeing DM too.

Uploaded new photos for renewal of passport - like that's going to be any use LOL.

Went for walk round park with friend/neighbour and managed 2 laps.

Today it's raining and I'm not feeling like doing anything at all.

Looked at jobs for my friend/neighbour as she wants to leave her job.

sueelleker · 21/10/2020 12:32

Just got back from the dentist; I had a check-up yesterday (first one this year) and an amalgam filling was so loose it fell out when she poked it. Luckily they had a cancellation for this morning, so I now have a nice white filling instead.

FawnDrench · 21/10/2020 13:21

Had a cheese and pickle roll and an orange KitKat for lunch.

Raining torrentially at the moment.

Seems the weather forecast was accurate for once this year.

ChooksAndBooks · 21/10/2020 13:29

I am awaiting my dough proving for my chocolate babka.

I wanted to drink my post-lunch tea in peace but my baby woke up.

My DH brought me back a new Terry's chocolate orange and cranberry bar from the shop. It's nice.

OldLeatherSuitcase · 21/10/2020 16:24

This morning I went into town to buy pies and take DHs boots to be resoled.

I'm looking forward to watching Rebecca on Netflix tonight.

AnnetteCurtainPeeper · 21/10/2020 16:30

I did a foot peel mask last night and am waiting for my foot skin to fall off. I'm going to my MIL's for a few days next week and I'm scared all of my skin is going to come off all over her house.

I've got chicken breasts I need to use up for dinner but no idea what to do with it.

OrangeGinLemonFanta · 21/10/2020 16:48

Fry them with chorizo, garlic, paprika and onions then add a tin of tomatoes and simmer.

I am throwing sausages and oven chips into the oven for me and the children. There will be carrots and broccoli too but its undeniably a crap dinner.

MissConductUS · 21/10/2020 16:57

If it were me I'd cube the chicken breasts and stir fry them with teriyaki sauce and serve with rice. It doesn't get any easier than that.

Re the foot peel, I have one of those battery operated gadgets that gently grinds away the dead skin where it's built up. I get this a lot from running. That's really quick and easy.

It's drizzling here. Again.

A plumber came and went yesterday without incident. He replaced the tap set in the bathroom sink, put in a new bath faucet and redirector for the shower, and fixed something in the cistern that I didn't realise needed attention so now the tank fills up far quicker after a flush. He didn't put in a new bath/shower knob because he thought the shower drip might ease off with the new bath faucet. He used paper towels to clean up everything that got a bit grimy. I didn't need to hide my good towels after all.

Champagneforeveryone · 21/10/2020 17:31

I shoplifted some pyjama trousers from Sainsbury's just now.

I realised when I got to the car, so went back and paid for them

OhamIreally · 21/10/2020 17:34

There were no teaspoons in the cutlery drawer when I went to make a cup of tea so I emptied the dishwasher.

Orangeblossom7777 · 21/10/2020 17:36

Taken all the recycling out. Need to do the online shop for Friday. Managed to get a payment holiday with the dental insurance due to dentists still not doing routine care, 2 months with possible extension.

Been swimming which seemed busy. Busier than pre covid. Wonder if is 'home workers'

OldLeatherSuitcase · 21/10/2020 17:47

Champagneforeveryone do Sainsbury's do good PJ trousers?

I have a cat sleeping on my lap, he's soft and warm but sadly now I need to stand up and go and pick up DH.

KoalaRabbit · 21/10/2020 17:48

Sorry for the overexciting Frosties news Forget Grin Just had a Muller Corner with strawberry which may also be overexciting but in my defence DS has come back after school screaming so I need all the sugar I can get.

Teal sofa got cancelled, was fraud apparently. I managed to stop the Paypal though.

Spudlet · 21/10/2020 17:49

Got all inspired by the bake-off and drizzled melted chocolate over the top of my brownies. I have high hopes for our coffee break tomorrow, if I do say so myself.

KoalaRabbit · 21/10/2020 17:50

Our cat has decided that school blazers are excellent for cats to sleep in especially DS's, about the 5th day she's slept in it. DS is very happy she's chosen his blazer. [grin} Fortunately we have 3 blazers and 2 children and 1 cat so a blazer each.

HelloDulling · 21/10/2020 18:08

Went to a cafe with the DC; it was closed so we came home.
The cat has released a mouse somewhere in the house.
Day 967 of the bathroom, still no bath. Apparently it’s going in tomorrow.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 21/10/2020 18:16

Just home from work and the first thing I see (well not literally) are Spudlet's brownies. So I made myself a cup of tea to calm down.

And then washed my favourite masks, to avoid having to go into work with the pink one that makes me look like Miss Piggy's gran.

MissConductUS · 21/10/2020 18:25

Outstanding brownies @Spudlet Smile

The dentists office rang me this morning to confirm my appointment on Friday and go through their covid screening questions - had I been sick, had I been traveling, had I had contact with anyone from out of state..

I heard the last one as "anyone from outer space, so had a good laugh and told them there was no recent contact with anyone outer space that I was aware of. I did not mention bringing brownies, which I made yesterday. Let them wonder about it until I show up.

oldleathersuitcase excellent men's trousers, these were winceyette (a recurring theme in his life) for DH. Two pairs for £12 as 25% off.

Ladies are all frills and cuffed ankles and no pockets

MagpiePi · 21/10/2020 18:31

I need a new washing up bowl because the current one has got marks on it from a pan that got burnt. I am more excited by this than I probably should be...

MissConductUS · 21/10/2020 18:34

Lands End has lovely women's pajama trousers with big side pockets. No frills either.

@HelloDulling - we had our shower ripped out and replaced in August and it was unavailable for about two weeks. We, fortunately, had another very small shower in another bathroom, so made do with that. How have you coped for so long?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 21/10/2020 18:40

Revolut sent me an email asking for an identity check, turns out my passport expired at the end of September. Hmm I can renew my passport online but not for another six weeks as they are not processing them during Level 5. Hmm Hmm Luckily there's nothing that I need Revolut for that can't be handled another way.

MenaiMna · 21/10/2020 18:42

The engineer arrived when promised and was very polite. The heating is working again after a perished rubber washer was replaced with a carbon fibre one.

HelenaJustina · 21/10/2020 19:13

I got wet feet during my evening run. DH is ferrying DC around all by himself so I can stay at home, make our dinner and put 2/4 DC to bed.
2 more days until half term and sleep.
