I am hungry. And not achieving much.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 20/10/2020 11:21

Maverick66 do you mind me asking how do you make your chicken crumble?

HandsFaceSpace · 20/10/2020 12:01

I have slightly changed my opinion about George Orwell.

liking the toner cartridge one.

Spudlet!! Shock

IamnotaStepfordHousewife · 20/10/2020 13:30

Eating a cheese and pickle baguette before teaching again in 5 minutes

EggyPegg · 20/10/2020 13:33

I went with the Converse in the end. They are comfier. I've had the DMs for about 18 months but they still need breaking in. I did hear a tip from a parent today, so I will try that.

I am listening to an audiobook that is causing me to have a physical reaction. It's unbearable, and I need it to be over, but I can't turn it off, so I seem to enjoy torturing myself. It's very, very good, but easily the most uncomfortable thing I've ever listened to.

I think I may have broken the dog. Oops.
Have you tried turning him off and turning him on again. Grin
RB68 · 20/10/2020 13:34

In Other news it is reported that I have a headache.

I never or rarely have them - this is a humdinger - day 3

Other than that can't get my head round Birthday Loo Cleaning sounding better...

RB68 · 20/10/2020 13:34

hmm redog - re boot required...?? (Not really)

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 20/10/2020 13:38

EggyPegg I've been listening to an audiobook called Vox and I've had to stop because I kept wanting to go out onto the street and scream "Fuck the patriarchy" and I was getting quite grumpy with DH for being a man. I've switched to an amusing romance instead.

I've just been for my last personal training session for 4-6 weeks as we go to level 5 lockdown from tomorrow night. I tried my best to look sad about it but my trainer knows I'm a lazy couch potato so didn't believe me.

Our skip has been collected.

I had a lovely chat with the customer service lady at Woolovers. I really appreciate companies that make it easy to talk to them rather than having to send an email. She confirmed they are happy to exchange my top for a smaller size and there is no charge for the postage.

vanillandhoney · 20/10/2020 13:43

I'm cooking a steak and ale pie for lunch, with roast potatoes and aubergine to go with it. I'm starving and wish I'd started prepping it earlier but there's only 20 minutes to go.

The laundry is in the machine and once it's dry I need to wash the towels.

AlfredaLinguini · 20/10/2020 13:46

I have just discovered smoked salt and added some to my omelette for lunch. It’s the best umami taste ever.

MissConductUS · 20/10/2020 13:52

I posted my absentee ballot yesterday. There were a surprising number of local elections to vote on, in addition to picking between the two elderly white men presidential candidates. We haven't been bombarded with adverts for the presidential race because NY is so reliably Democratic they'd be a waste of money for both sides. I still had to vote for judges, state senators, a congressperson and a county executive.

I'm WFH today. I have to see the dentist who does my crowns on Friday to cement one back on and check one that's wobbly and am making brownies to take in for him and his office staff. A few years ago I spent almost two years with him doing what's called a full prosthodontic reconstruction. It became a tradition back then that I'd bring brownies for most visits. It was a nice thing to do, but it was also a form of psychological manipulation. If you give people sweet tasty things they treat you better. Smile

DH has picked out a new Dell laptop for DS but needs to speak with him about a few of the details. I'm a bit tired today. I slept okay last night but not well at all Sunday night.

Never tried smoked salt.

Just found a ring I thought I'd lost. It's not worth anything but it's an old family one with sentimental value.

@Frownette @BlackAmericanoNoSugar @RB68 Grin

He’s fine, honest guvs... 😬 He enjoyed our little joggette through the woods very much but now he’s ready to put his little paws up. Until this evening when he will demand to go out repeatedly because someone [side eyes DH] started giving him a biscuit after he’d done his evening ablutions and now ddog has taken this to mean that he should get a biscuit every time he sets paw out of the back door once night has fallen.... we’ve created a monster 😳

Said biscuit monster is currently happily snoozing beside me on the sofa, while the bread machine whirs away in the kitchen. The last loaf I made in it didn’t turn out at all, so hoping this one will be better!

Frownette · 20/10/2020 14:26

@MissConductUS you have done your duty! Hope teethwork goes well on Friday.

Had a message form school about an amazing sounding trip to Iceland for A level geography. However not sure is DS is going to do that course and don't want him to be guided by the exciting trip into choosing it. Tricky.

Went to a cafe in town and had some soup, by myself and enjoyed people watching. Some small boys running around, nice to see a little normality. Now home putting off some boring tasks (such as dental insurance) and phone calls.

boatyardblues · 20/10/2020 14:57

Iceland is amazing - worth doing 2 years of A level geography for. Wink

TenCornMaidens · 20/10/2020 15:08

My husband did enjoy a holiday in Iceland. Maybe that's an option.

I've been doing a bit of studying today. Now resting. Will have a cup of tea in a bit and then probably reorganise a drawer.

Orangeblossom7777 · 20/10/2020 15:37

Iceland is amazing I agree- went on an archaeological dig there as a student once. On re-reading it seems they don't have to be doing the course to do the trip - however it is quite costly so we'll have to have a think.

Would love to go myself...

MissConductUS · 20/10/2020 15:38

There's less red in the leaf color this year, but it's still pretty good.

Oooh more deck! Very pretty.

The washable facemasks play havoc with your wash, I put one load on at 60°c then went to do a delicate wash next at 30°c and realised I'd forgotten to put facemasks in the higher temp one, so disposable it is for now.

FawnDrench · 20/10/2020 16:01

It's lovely and sunny here - both the dog and I enjoyed our walk.

I didn't have an apple and cheese last evening - I had an orange Club biscuit and a packet of Hula-hoops instead.

I should have done some laundry today as it's forecast 100% rain here tomorrow.
But I haven't so it's just tough titty (to me though) - hmm...
