I’m not sure, @Frownette, I’ve never seen the floorboards- the carpet was here when I moved in.

Think I’ll prevaricate about it for 5 years or so, by which time the carpet will have fallen apart and they’ll be nothing to lose.

Wbeezer · 19/10/2020 16:01

I have just finished a jar of nutmeg I've been stubbornly using up: best before Oct 2011!

TenCornMaidens · 19/10/2020 16:07

I admire your ambivalence. In fairness, you could pull up a corner behind a bookshelf (or similar) and if the floor is immediately obviously horrid you can just tamp it back down on the grippers and it won't show much. Doesn't tell you the condition of the whole floor but gives a first impression and allows you to possibly rule it out.

A work mate gave me a glass of homemade chili quince jam and I had a dürüm for midday then I continued working and discussed christmas cookies with the office manager.

I came home early bc. the documents to upload were not ready.

OrangeGinLemonFanta · 19/10/2020 16:36

I have to go to Asda after work to buy DD the 'stripy' PE shorts. Cycling shorts no longer acceptable as 'everyone' has the stripe style. Whilst I normally love a browse round Asda, the one by my office is dark and a bit rough.

Champagneforeveryone · 19/10/2020 16:47

I've been released!!
There was a reasonable amount of mansplaining involved, though even he had to concede there was no way I could get out without one of the other cars moving.

DH never parks in that car park and has long been the bearer of grim premonitions as to what could happen should one venture to park there. I may never hear the end of this Confused

forgetthehousework · 19/10/2020 16:50

I now have seven items of unfinished sewing to do.
I don't know why I don't just finish something before I start the next one - too easy I guess!

Maverick66 · 19/10/2020 16:50

Making chicken crumble for dinner can't be bothered peeling potatoes so it's frozen roasties and frozen veg. Blush

MissConductUS · 19/10/2020 16:52

Don't tell him! Smile

I'm glad you got free. I'm pretty out in the woods too, and our area gets a lot of snow in the winter. And we need a big car to get the kid's stuff to and from uni.

I'm glad you finally got free.

@Squirrel26; do you find you apologise much more if you tread on/hit a pet than if you do the same to your DH?

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/10/2020 19:23

We used to make more of a fuzz about Sev then we did about humans.

SpeedofaSloth · 19/10/2020 19:24

Everyone in my house is in different rooms, doing their own thing just now. It's strangely quiet.

Squirrel26 · 19/10/2020 19:42

The guilt definitely lasts longer!
I read somewhere that dogs understand when you’re sorry about something.

Although that could have been written by someone who’d recently trodden on their dog’s foot to make themselves feel better.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/10/2020 19:46

Perhaps humans ooze "I'm sorry smells"?

I've still not heard from the foot surgery, so I have to chase them tomorrow.

PersisFord · 19/10/2020 19:47

I can confirm that raspberry Pepsi max is lovely. As is raspberry Fanta. Be very careful buying it though as the cherry Pepsi max looks almost identical and is probably the worst drink in the world.

Nothing to report here, which is just lovely!

Oh yes I forgot - my tinted moisturiser (I wear it about once a month) smells lovely and because I was wearing a mask I could smell it all day!

FawnDrench · 19/10/2020 20:08

We have put the heating on.

The dog is snuggled up all warm and cosy.

I may have an apple and some cheese a bit later.

HelenaJustina · 19/10/2020 21:04

I’m worrying quietly about how to entertain a 13yr old who has an INSET day on Friday, everyone else will still be at work and school. DH isn’t joining in.
We’ve jointly deciding that going out for our wedding anniversary this weekend is too exciting and we’ll stay in with a bottle of wine.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 19/10/2020 21:18

DD has ADHD inattentive - you could abandon her on an empty parking lot and she'd not be bored. But would probably get lost on her way out.

Entertaining DC was luckily never a problem, give them a book or 10 and they were happy and quiet.

Imissmoominmama · 19/10/2020 23:21

I’ve just ordered some new walking shoes. I got them £50 cheaper because they are an unpopular colour. I don’t care as long as they’re comfortable.

EggyPegg · 19/10/2020 23:25

It's mufti day at the school I work at tomorrow. The deputy head sent a message to the group WhatsApp the confirm that staff were also going in in mufti as she didn't want to be the only one in jeans. I am gleeful as this means I can wear jeans and a hoodie tomorrow to the icebox work.
Am undecided between Converse and my hot pink DMs though.

Taswama · 20/10/2020 07:13

Hot pink DMs sound awesome EggyPegg !

Asda did not have striped shorts in DD's size. Despite having a wall covered in various PE shorts they also did not have cycling shorts in the size the lady beside me needed. I have ordered them online, along with more jogging bottoms for my 3yo who is refusing to wear any other type of trousers.
TheSilveryPussycat · 20/10/2020 10:22

I paid my tax bill yesterday.

Frownette · 20/10/2020 10:35

Procrastinating as I have to travel later. Tempted to put it off til tomorrow as it won't be enjoyable.

OublietteBravo · 20/10/2020 10:37

I have changed the toner cartridge in my printer. The font in my printed documents is now pleasingly dark and crisp.
