Can I just say guys, let's not lower ourselves to the level of the members of that site. No doubt admin on there has done her woe is us, mean other site post for them to have one last bitch session
I think we should ignore and hope the forumless crowd don't invade our space with their nastiness. I've already seen a few lamenting it's loss and then being rude and making excuses on here. Let's not sink, ladies.

I closed the thread in disgust and I don't remember which random pages I opened, but that was precisely the unapologetic racism that was emblematic of that place.

It is far far more noticeable on a small forum than on somewhere like this.

I have said lots that I feel for those who were just pottering about on there posting about knitting, or recipes or their new kitten. And now it looks like the rug's been pulled from under them. I could see the attraction of the site, the functionality etc, but it's just a shame that the most prevelant threads were not so much fun, as it were..

Couldn't agree more @Roussette and I hope you never have to experience that level of aggro again anywhere. You or SimonJT or anyone else who was targeted. It's shameful. And I think you've shown an admirable amount of restraint which I don't think I'd muster myself.

Have you actually looked at what happened or just taken her word for it. Because I was on the site at the time and followed everything that happened. It did not go down as you discribed.

Yes some posted continued to bring the matter up when it could have been left. But your friend also chose to keep bringing it back up across the whole site.

And the racist issue had nothing to do with the Boris thread that you're referring to.

Yes I did as she sent me links. She can be a bit precious, which is why I advised her not to join here as she would last five minutes on AIBU. But no, she hadn't posted for days and yet the same lot mentioned here just kept on bringing it up. And considering she was then banned so couldn't post, what you've said is utter rubbish, she literally couldn't post anymore for weeks. And hasn't since to my knowledge. Yet again, you seem to be excusing the racism and nastiness. I bet if we had the type of thread here someone quoted, that site would've been so happy to slag us all to death.

It was actually, that particular poster stating that Carrie Symonds had a fanny like a half eaten kebab

The very same poster who claimed she had been banned for life from here as they'd targeted her.

Helena I believe you go on the Westminsterenders threads in the Brexit topic. Plenty of times leavers were regarded as a big homogenous mass who were called thick and racist. The rumour about Boris being unfaithful was discussed and one poster said “I hope it’s true”.
There have been some very unpleasant threads when posters are attacked en masse by the thread regulars.
Do you think that’s acceptable?
