I dont read them either @Chicchicchicchiclana as i would find discussing the Royals as boring as hell. I thought the country would move on from this unhealthy obsession after the death of Princess Diana but it seems not.

There are even worse threads too. I just went to look to make sure I wasn't making stuff in my head up. I'd seen it before but wondered if I'd exaggerated it. Ummm, no. I'd underplayed it actually.

I will not name names, because I won't lower myself to the level of certain posters on there, but needless to say... there are a few posters who rant and rave over there about woke woke woke and how racism doesn't exist.

As I've said more than once, certain posters have spoilt it for others and that's a big shame for those on that site who were enjoying the fun bits, the supportive threads etc.

Rather than making unsubstantiated accusations, would you care to provide some evidential proof?

@BIWI They are wrong. If you go to a forum called The Fashion Spot they discuss on there the lack of representation of BAME people there have been in magazines. Some magazines (my favourite one Red included) had to hold their hands up and admit that they hadnt done enough and in Reds August issue they said they would from then on do better.

There has been a real lack of representation for a long time.

Good. MN does delete as they have a team of paid moderators. It is more noticeable on a little site that has one person at the helm who doesn't have a team behind them.

While people are happily copying and pasting from the site that shall not be mentioned, some people in this thread are and have been doing exactly what they're complaining the other site did.

I'm really curious why it is that site that is getting all the bad stuff, when largely, it was people getting along, aside from a handful of threads.

It’s very dangerous to make accusations of racism unless you can back it up with evidence.
Disagreeing with the opinions of someone who just happens to be from another culture is not racism. Otherwise we would never be able to have a sensible debate where 2 parties have a differing viewpoints.
Verbally attacking colour, race, culture etc, however, is racism.

I understand from what you've said earlier that you have had some direct experience from certain quarters.

However, cancel culture - often discussed on FWR, credible media outlets and other forums - so I think that's a current topic discussed on many areas of the Internet as it is a problem.

The QoS issue was also discussed widely in the media.

I think it largely unfair to put that down to one little forum that had a small user base where it is easier to pick it apart.

Isn't it time that place and this, stopped tearing each other apart?

I have nothing against cancel culture being discussed but some of the posts on there were really unpleasant. Similar to the one linked above. And the insults about the new QoS presenter too which I am sure was not discussed in the media in the same way as over there. Calling her a 'random box ticker' and a 'POC that no one gives a shit about'.
This is a professional sportswoman that's being maligned.

However, happy to stop tearing each other apart, absolutely. As long as what the faults were on there aren't denied.

I am encouraged that some posters from there have said the obsession with MN and its posters has to stop.

No she wasn't, she repeatedly said it was a joke, and that far worse things had been said previously, and that was before the disgusting racism. Another poster then said she found it funny and she was abused too.

I really hope our Mods are keeping a close eye on names of obvious interlopers ready to remove.

It descended into days of abuse when she had ceased to respond, goading and goading.
I'm aware she plans on calling admin out again on the only thread open so let's see if they bother to respond or if the usual lot bitch and snipe again.

I dont agree. Posting it will just excite the racists more. If people cant take my word for it that i just didnt see it im happy to accept these sites are no longer for me and to pull the plug on the whole lot.

NO ONE has asked me why i never click on the Harry and Meghan threads on this site. Im being got at for behaving exactly in the same way on both sites.

AS me on here and you will see ive discussed misogyny many times on the Feminism and Relationships board (i stopped posting on that board altogether after my personal life also got ripped apart on Reddit) I cant stand Boris but have nothing against Carrie. She does a lot for conservation and is an animal lover.

I am too, encouraged- have just seen those messages. The problem with a small forum is that things stand out more. Many were happily members of both sites. On a bigger forum, it doesn't stand out so much. That's not to say that it doesn't happen. People are measuring what happens here to a small forum. People are upset as they felt it was a safe place for them to receive support. That has been whipped away from them. Some on MN think that's fair. I don't. We never know what goes on behind a keyboard.

I hope you manage to find some peace in all of this too.

She made a joke that previously, before that site was taken over wouldn't have raised an eyebrow. Yet you had a male on there be racist and abusive to more than one female and about females here and that's fine by you? I'm sorry but as someone who skipped over to it at the 1st sign of a posting ban I don't think you're in a position to comment.
