Seems to have shut up shop as from this morning.

Ignoring or choosing not to get involved with racism does not make you a racist. Same as not responding to other threads or ignoring whole topics doesn’t make you whatever ism would be appropriate there.

Roussette · 11/10/2020 20:17

They were all too busy laughing and taking the piss out of his/her appearance.

@Saucery

They tracked down a Mod? At the risk of sounding like I’m just copying...I didn’t see that!
They claimed to have found Michael, they were also posting Linkin profiles of men with the same name.
EchoCardioGran · 11/10/2020 20:20

They did Saucery, I was not a member of the site. I had a pm about the site from a member on here when we asked for the Black Mumsnet board.
I was following the Black Mumsnet minstrel stuff and came upon the mod stuff. I won't mention names. I flagged it up to MNHQ at the time.
I've been at the sharp end of moderation on here too, and been unhappy about it at the time, but you join the club and accept the rules.
Picking on a mod and posting personal stuff like that, is just the act of a low life and pals. Again, no one objected to it (that I saw.)

I dunno - is not challenging it when you see it and ignoring it kind of condoning it?

GetOffYourHighHorse · 11/10/2020 20:24

'suspect they thunder around on there trying to control everything there too.'

Indeed. This thread is fascinating if totally bizarre. Telling people off for what may have been posted on another site and even quoting what they say allegedly said about it on Rrddit Confused.

I wonder if @pigeonsfeather and pals think they are The Bosses Of The Internet?

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

Call it out, whatever it is.

Yes it does, same as those who are well aware of the doxxing on the Reddit sub but are too scared to say anything. If you don’t speak out you are complicit. I wouldn’t post on either sub because I wouldn’t be associated with that.

Name changed as we all know they trawl through posting history the saddos that they are.

Completely agree

All you have to do is Google their name and go onto Linkedin. It's not rocket science, it would take you about 30 seconds.
Roussette · 11/10/2020 20:29

Echo No-one objected to it at all. It drew a lot of attention and piss taking as they piled on.
Says it all.

I just think... some of those posters never for a minute thought 'how would I feel about this if it were me?* And I can't get over that.

Someone there once posted that they read one horrible thing about them somewhere and it really affected their mental health.
I wanted to say.... me and another poster on here (I won't say who)... try seeing 20 or 30 posts a day calling you every name imaginable, questioning your intelligence, your looks, posting horrible youtube videos of you with your name annotated to it, endless pictures of vile creatures saying it was you, on and on.
Yet this poster had one post somewhere about them and everyone was dishing out sympathy, whilst insulting me and someone else. And they were proud of this. The more derogatory the better.

Quaagars · 11/10/2020 20:29

You've completely misread what I said.
I was talking about on THIS site if you re-read.

Janegrey333 · 11/10/2020 20:29

And BillyBookcase

That is a weird one. Some of the posters talked about his revolting swimwear. 🤢

OP posts:
EchoCardioGran · 11/10/2020 20:30

I've never been anywhere near Reddit.
Two posts on Gransnet in nearly 10 years.
I'm not the boss of anywhere.
I detest racists and their apologist "didn't see anything" pals.

HeIenaDove · 11/10/2020 20:30

Eh?

Saucery · 11/10/2020 20:30

I wasn’t surprised at their ingenuity or search skills, just the fact that they took it that far in the first place Grin

GetOffYourHighHorse · 11/10/2020 20:31

'Call it out, whatever it is.'

Yes. Preferably at the time, on the correct site, to the correct person. Not wang on about it a completely different platform. It'd be like me saying I saw some misogynist shite on Twitter. What's that got to do with mn?

They didn’t seem to see the discrepancy. Laughable.

@Quaagars

I actually want to see the racist post on the Justine thread, I wasn’t on that one and see how it went down)

Why would you want to see that?
Isn't the fact that it sounds like it stayed for people to comment on bad enough?
I know people complain at MN for moderating, but I'd far rather have that than uncensored, blatant racism.

Maybe they would want to make up their own mind about whether there was racism or not, rather than rely on the word of another.
HeIenaDove · 11/10/2020 20:33

All i posted upthread was i started two threads on two other sites where i knew some MNers also posted so the ones i got on with would know why i wasnt posting. As there was no other way to let them know i had been banned for a week for calling out ableism So the posters i get on with would know i hadnt just fucked off and that it wasnt my choice.

Janegrey333 · 11/10/2020 20:34

@Quaagars

A lot of hate is in the eye of the beholder. I don't go looking for it and I don't see it

OK..... but how do you defend what people are saying about the Minstrel post?
Not to mention the other examples given.

A a good question.
