Have you had a flu shot yet?

If you're planning on getting it - have you had yours?

Just had mine this morning and glad to have it done and out of the way! I'm not in the UK, but the nurse was saying that uptake has been huge this year and they ran out on a couple of days last month.

Boots, tesco, well and lloyds have all suspended their online bookings so not managed it yet.

Jocasta2018 · 06/10/2020 19:57

Getting mine tomorrow!

SantaMonicaPier · 06/10/2020 19:58

Yes, I booked mine a month ago and had it at the weekend. Boots stopped offering them a couple of weeks ago I think due to demand.

VinylDetective · 06/10/2020 19:59

Mine’s being done at the GP surgery on the 17th. The bloke who’s under 65 but asthmatic has been told to go to the pharmacy and pay. Not impressed.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/10/2020 20:10

Try independent pharmacies.

JamieLeeCurtains · 06/10/2020 20:22

My local independent pharmacy, which I'd have risked going to, ran out too.

yellowmaoampinball · 06/10/2020 20:26

To be honest, I'm not in an at risk group, I've got a voucher from work so I'll just hang fire a bit if there's a shortage. I'm signed up with everyone for an email when they open the bookings back up.

rallytog1 · 06/10/2020 20:27

Can't find one for love nor money round here Sad

Bluebellbike · 06/10/2020 20:49

Yes. Last week at Lloyd's Pharmacy. I get a free one as I'm a Care worker, also I'm on immunosuppressive medication. My employer is meant to organise it but doesn't get around to it until the end of November. My GP wasn't offering it yet. I had heard there were shortages of the vaccine so thought I would just go for it when I saw Lloyd's were offering it.

AdoraBell · 06/10/2020 20:50

Not yet, I’m booked for it next week.

Livpool · 06/10/2020 20:56

Mine is booked with my GP for the 14th of October. I have asthma so always get it

Sexnotgender · 06/10/2020 20:57

Yes, had it last Wednesday as I’m pregnant it was offered at my scan appointment.

marriednotdead · 07/10/2020 10:57

A word of warning if you haven’t had yours yet, based on my own stupidity/lack of foresight!

The injection itself was very gentle in my experience. However, if you tend/have to lay on a particular side of your body to sleep, you will find it very uncomfortable on your newly vaccinated arm

Bupkis · 07/10/2020 11:13

I'm booked in for 17th Oct at GPs
Still waiting to hear about dcs
Trying to get one from pharmacy/Boots for dh.

Bluesheep8 · 07/10/2020 12:36

Yes, last week. Have it every yr at GPs due to having MS.

BikeRunSki · 07/10/2020 12:38

Yes, last week. I went on to the local pharmacy on Monday, when DH went a couple of days later they’d run out. Massive uptake this year.

squeekums · 07/10/2020 12:42

nope never have, nothing changes this year

mindutopia · 07/10/2020 13:09

I booked mine weeks ago with a local pharmacy. I get a free NHS one as asthmatic (also technically I am NHS staff but I'm working from home and not able to travel to our trust to get one - as it's in Central London and I am not). But they called to cancelled on me two days before because they have run out of under 65s jabs. I am supposed to be on the list to get one from my GP, but they've been yet to be able to book me in. Normally, I don't get it until end of October, but it is a bit annoying that there isn't more prioritisation for people who are higher risk (even when they've booked early!). But as long as I get it by the end of the month, that will be fine.

Toddlerteaplease · 07/10/2020 13:10

I have managed to vaccinate 12 people this morning. The excuses for not having it are driving me nuts. No one has a proper reason for not having it.

PrayingandHoping · 07/10/2020 13:11

Yep. Myself and my 11month old had it at GP last week and hubbie had one privately at Tesco

pigeonsfeather · 07/10/2020 13:12

I declined mine, so no. I’m sure others will take it up.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 07/10/2020 13:14

Our surgery is not yet doing under 65s , even those with health conditions apparently
So it must be individual surgeries making the decision themselves (rather than the health care trust they’re under)? We’re all eligible, me and DDs asthma and DH as he’s over 65. We all had them mid September at our surgery, which is a good two months earlier than usual.

Devlesko · 07/10/2020 13:16

No, they keep asking me and I keep refusing.
Not into being dosed up with mercury, nor shedding everywhere.
Each to their own.

Devlesko · 07/10/2020 13:20

I think some people are under the impression they won't catch covid, hence the huge take up this year. Grin

VinylDetective · 07/10/2020 13:20

Ffs. Anti vaxers drive me mad. Do you think the world’s flat @Devlesko? Mercury indeed!
