Have you had a flu shot yet?

If you're planning on getting it - have you had yours?

Just had mine this morning and glad to have it done and out of the way! I'm not in the UK, but the nurse was saying that uptake has been huge this year and they ran out on a couple of days last month.

I got mine done at work on Saturday (work in a hospital).

Pascha · 06/10/2020 15:49

Nope. My surgery ran out of vaccine after their first clinic. No date yet for resupplies.

EarlGreyJenny · 06/10/2020 15:50

Yes. From GP last week

CMOTDibbler · 06/10/2020 15:55

Yes, last week at the GP. DH is having his next week at the pharmacy and paying for it

lookslikeacorpse · 06/10/2020 15:58

my docs have still got the shutters up so looks like I wont be having it this year.

Scoobidoo · 06/10/2020 15:59

Yes, DH and I had ours at Boots on Saturday. 1st time we’ve ever had it but this year it makes sense.

BestOption · 06/10/2020 16:02

@Pickypolly

Yep. Why would you not!
Because my GP surgery asked me to come in this coming Saturday.
NatalieH2220 · 06/10/2020 16:04

I had mine last week. Felt really rough that evening and the day after but glad it's done now

Floralnomad · 06/10/2020 16:06

I had mine at the Gp last week ( free as I have numerous health issues ) and the rest of the family paid and had them at Tesco last Saturday . We booked theirs a few weeks ago as ds is a teacher and was keen to get one which was lucky as it’s very difficult to even book an under 65 one in our area now as stocks are low .

BestOption · 06/10/2020 16:06

In fact I have a fun filled week
Breast screening today
Cervical Smear tomorrow
Flu jab Saturday
🤦🏻‍♀️

Topseyt · 06/10/2020 16:08

Yes. Last Friday morning at the GP surgery. I am given one each year.

DH had his done on Monday lunchtime at the local pharmacy.

CeibaTree · 06/10/2020 16:08

I've got one booked (through work) at Boots in a couple of weeks. DC are having theirs after school on Friday. That just leaves DH who will probably go to the local chemist to get his.

BrokenBrit · 06/10/2020 16:09

No, my surgery are prioritising over 65’s. I’m fine with that, I can get it as I have mild asthma so am eligible but I dont think I’m especially high risk, so won’t be too worried if I don’t get it. I would much rather older and severely ill people get it if it’s in short supply.

AutumnleavesturntoGold · 06/10/2020 16:10

Yes always feel so relieved when it's done

AutumnleavesturntoGold · 06/10/2020 16:12

Broken I have a friend who was surprised I was getting a flu jab.. His doctor said they had a delay in getting them!
I had to explain mine is private, just go private. I think boots is more expensive but asda, supermarkets do it for between 8 and 12 pounds?

EternalOptimist7 · 06/10/2020 16:14

DH & I are not eligible. DD11 will have the nasal one at school soon

Lubeylube · 06/10/2020 16:19

I didn't get called for one by the GP although I have several health conditions and have been in hospital twice with chest infections. I had a bp check last week and asked if I could have one and she gave me one there and then. I normally am called the minute they are released so was surprised I hadn't been called already.

muckandnettles · 06/10/2020 16:22

I paid to have mine at Tesco's and they told me I was lucky as they were going to run out after mine and didn't know when they would get more in.

AlpineSnow · 06/10/2020 16:23

I don't think I'm eligible although i nearly meet a couple of the criteria. I paid to have it privately at boots

Marmunia1975 · 06/10/2020 16:27

No, no way......I haven't had a proper flu for about 25 years anyway.

HeyMicky · 06/10/2020 16:28

Have an appointment next week. Lots of pharmacies near me have stopped taking appointments for the paid private jab as demand is so high

onemouseplace · 06/10/2020 16:30

I had mine yesterday - my arm is sore as well this year.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 06/10/2020 16:31

Had the first one ever on Friday because I'm pregnant. Went for a scan and they did it there and then. Had no idea I was getting it done.

Sheknowsaboutme · 06/10/2020 16:33

Mine not available until the end of November. Just like last year.

GU24Mum · 06/10/2020 16:34

Had mine at Tesco this morning . I'm now eligible for the NHS one but only just and it could be months so I booked it when there was talk of the pharmacies running out!
