A strange cat has just climbed into my bedroom

I'm in bed happily reading my book and a cat has just climbed through the window and settled down on my feet.
Neither of our neighbours have a cat. I have no idea where it's from.
It's a very pretty cat so I think I will let it stay, at least until dh comes up and throws it out.

You provided aware safe place and were chosen, your window was too wide open

MJMG2015 · 05/10/2020 22:16

I rented an AirBnB apartment once, I had a cat friend all week. When I handed the keys back to the owner's (adult) daughter, I said I hadn't been sure what to do about the cat, but in the end decided to make sure it was out & shut all the windows. She said 'Dad doesn't have a cat'

🤣🤣🤣it had certainly made itself at home all week!

QueenOllie · 05/10/2020 22:17

@MJMG2015 I was not letting him in and he was trying to balance on the windowsill and bang on the window at the same time
My cat sometimes pushes him out the window Blush by smacking him in the face

Our neighbours had a cat, tiny little thing that always looked like a kitten.Half the size of my ginger boys. Never bothered with us. They moved across town. A year later dd said, “why is Katy cat in the kitchen?” She stayed for about 5 years. She must have been about 17 when she vanished for the last time. But in leaving her new house she adopted two other families on route. (They both posted missing cat ads) She bullied my boys something rotten.

My neighbour's cat, Chopin. For almost a year now he's decided to spend his days napping either on the same spot on the couch or washing machine at ours and nights at his home.

@ColonelNobbyNobbs

I’d love to find 5 cats in my living room!
Buy some Dreamies, you’ll soon have some cat friends!

My grandparents stole a beautiful Siamese in this manner. Although actually, I think it was the Siamese who stole my grandparents.

To anyone wanting a cat to wake them up, mine routinely do this at exceptionally early hours.

If I ever lie in it is a shock to me as I don't sleep well coupled with the cats not waking me up.

Nikhedonia · 05/10/2020 22:55

@QueenOllie

This is not my cat
The second photo looks like it could be a meme GrinGrinGrin

@Nikhedonia he is king of the weird poses. This was his reaction to seeing a human in the bath for the first time

Many years ago the cat I'd owned from being a kitten had picked up several adoptive parents on my street by gaining access to their houses, demanding food and attention like a starving stray and convinced them all she was their new pet.

There was actually a bit of a to do when I was forced to explain to one of the neighbours that no, she wasn't their cat, yes she got fed but was a greedy cow, yes she was wormed and de flea'd regularly and yes, I'd owned her from kitten hood.

Disloyal little beggar she was!

ColleagueFromMars · 05/10/2020 23:07

@QueenOllie has been denying that paws is her cat for ages, don't listen to her! Grin

Your house is this cat's now.

Jjacobb · 05/10/2020 23:08

I did post a photo, I can see it but just in case here it is again.
I could only get a bum shot though it refused to turn round.
I love cats and their badass attitude.

When I lived at home with my parents we had a black cat, for years my Dad kept talking about how fluffy the cat was, me and my Mum were confused as our cat was just a normal short hair. Eventually when our cat and the fluffy black cat got caught in the same room together we realised our black cat had actually bought home a fluffy black cat that would sleep on my Dads side of the bed every night.

minipie · 05/10/2020 23:33

I just came on the thread to see if you are my neighbour OP... we regularly see Dcat going into a neighbour’s bedroom window, I think she spends more time there than at ours...

This is amazing! How long before you all realised?

When my old cat was about 6 months old he was “adopted “ by my neighbors’ cat, that cat would come round every morning at about 8, then the two of them would disappear off together.

I was working and my neighbor told me that my cat considered her house to be his home during the day (fortunately we became really good friends).

On one occasion he managed to get into her bathroom after she’d cleaned it, and put muddy paw prints on EVERY horizontal surface, another time he ate her husband’s from the kitchen worktop.

If I was late home, he’d report me and demand she fed him!

That bloody cat cost me plenty of wine! But it made me a brilliant friend.

If there was some Strumpet climbing in the window trying to steal my bed & my human I'd push her out the window too!

MissMarplesHandbag · 06/10/2020 01:09

bebarkered · 06/10/2020 04:21

Some gorgeous kitties on her guys! LOVE your cat QueenOllie. I think you bought that photo (and paid good money for it, and, it's not really your cat). Just kidding obviously x

QueenOllie · 06/10/2020 16:33

Not my cat is checking out the laundry situation today. I don't ask questions any more, I've accepted my fate

I’m cat phobic....I would’ve had a stroke if that had happened to me! And that cat standing on its hind legs, has sent me over the edge.....🙈
