If he was a decent person I'd be wishing him well. He's not. I'm not.

@captainpantbeard

It doesn’t ring true. There’s something wrong about the way he’s tweeted it.
THIS.
Lolaloveslemonade · 02/10/2020 17:03

@KenDodd

It is probably in the best interest of Americans for Trump to die as that might make his supporters become more responsible

This is the last thing I want to happen.

I agree. His supporters will say he was murdered.

I agree
Gingernaut · 02/10/2020 17:05

Who's thinking that he's just hiding away after that shit show of a debate?

Keeping a very low profile and possibly being prevented from making an even bigger arse of himself.

tobee · 02/10/2020 17:09

I don't want him to die of Covid. I want him to be fully sentient and lose the election fairly and squarely.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/10/2020 17:13

If he remains reasonably well, no reason why he can't do the debate online. I noticed on Twitter earlier that there was a suggestion he had mild symptoms. That could mean anything.

There's no way he can do the debate via Zoom, McNinny would be standing behind the camera with her infamous big white folder, holding up flashcards for him to read
frumpety · 02/10/2020 18:19

If he is perfectly well and doesn't participate in the debate remotely then will people believe he has it ?

If he is too unwell to participate in the debate remotely, then will a lot of people see him as a weaker older gentleman, who perhaps isn't up to another 4 years as POTUS ?

Roussette · 02/10/2020 20:02

Oh yes, I would like to think either of those two scenarios

StrangeLookingParasite · 02/10/2020 21:54

@eaglejulesk

Whether you like him or despise him, remember he is a fellow human being. I think it is wicked to wish him dead. I hope he and Melania are both OK.

Well said. Those who wish him ill are showing themselves up as no better than he is tbh.

Wow. Much sanctimony.
areallthenamesusedup · 02/10/2020 22:19

SoI just googled and he hasn't tweeted for 16 hours. Is that normal? Surely, if his case was mild he would be tweeting to reassure his supporters that he is fine and dandy.

I do not do twitter so this lack of tweets may be normal.....but it feels odd to me. Why is he so quiet?

Roussette · 02/10/2020 22:20

Well...
Breaking news
He's being admitted to Walter Reed hospital as a precautionary measure

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/10/2020 22:25

Yes, helicopter preparing to airlift him out. Hmm.

The White House is already fully equipped with a medical centre and staff.

Wonder what he needs at a general hospital?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 02/10/2020 22:26

Hmm.

Roussette · 02/10/2020 22:27

It's where he goes when it's anything more than routine...

StealthPolarBear · 02/10/2020 22:28

Do you think a hospital stay would be part of the plan?

areallthenamesusedup · 02/10/2020 22:33

(complete aside here but fyi: on twitter....Trump has 31.5 million followers....Obama has 123.2 million followers....Obama is beating Trump bigly Smile )

thecatsatonthewall · 02/10/2020 22:33

@StealthPolarBear

No, assuming he has CV !!

At his age and weight, he has a 1:25 chance of dying, regardless, few obese 74 yo's have no side effects from CV.

Kljnmw3459 · 02/10/2020 22:37

It is worrying that he's been taken in. Perhaps the same caution as for Johnson? I hope this will wake up some people to take the virus a bit more seriously. I think Melania will be ok due to younger age.

KenDodd · 02/10/2020 22:58

It is worrying that he's been taken in.

No it's not.
He saw the good press, public sympathy and improved approval ratings Boris Johnson got from being in hospital. I bet his team have asked him to go in to try to win some more votes.

I bet he wins the election because of this.

MarshaBradyo · 02/10/2020 23:02

Similar messaging to Johnson

Good spirits / precaution

Still not convinced but if you make a career made up of lies and fabrication then it’ll follow you whatever you say

thecatsatonthewall · 02/10/2020 23:07

Johnson would have had little pity if his illness had been in June.

Similar for Trump, his illness won't garner him extra votes, which is apparently what he needs, he is more likely never to stand in November.

You’re kidding yourself if you think Trump followed Boris Johnson’s illness and is copying it. Britain is not that important let alone to an egomaniac like Trump.
remainin · 03/10/2020 02:59

Being Trump, he'd be more likely to ride out his illness in the WH. Doing office work from the hospital doesn't sound convincing. I think his condition is more serious than he'd like people to believe.
