If he was a decent person I'd be wishing him well. He's not. I'm not.

Don't believe it. Publicity stunt.

thecatsatonthewall · 02/10/2020 10:17

@Windywendys

just as Hilary Clinton is blamed by many in the US

Eh? Hillary Clinton is just as bent as trump.

See what i mean? a politician who has never been in power, is blamed, just as JC is here.

the media really know how to deflect from their people and the populations in the US and UK lap it up.

Must be an educational thing, as it doesn't appear to happen in europe quite as much.

GlacindaTheTroll · 02/10/2020 10:21

I like the tweet from HIGNFY

"BREAKING: Trump tests positive for Covid-19, coming as a huge inconvenience to a topical panel show that finished recording just hours beforehand"

Roussette · 02/10/2020 10:21

It isnt just going to stay with DT and MT though is it, chances are high that Baron will have it, all his kids actually and now could pass it on to his grandchildren That is where this could be really sad for them

What tosh. He and his family are the most protected people on the planet. Why do you think this?

Don't you think the Trumps have access to the best healthcare, the beyond comprehension massive houses, there's 132 rooms in the White House for starters... so no they won't be like the poor bus driver who lives in a two up two down in London trying to isolate from his NHS worker wife and kids.

I've no idea why people post stuff like this

GlottalStrop · 02/10/2020 10:22

I feel embarrassed for the American people now. He must really feel confident that they can't see through this bigoted farce. It's an insult to their intelligence and it's gone on too long.

blueangel19 · 02/10/2020 10:22

Name calling is so childish. Make the points intended very weak.

Roussette · 02/10/2020 10:25

It is probably in the best interest of Americans for Trump to die as that might make his supporters become more responsible

This is the last thing I want to happen. They think he's the second coming as it is. I don't want him turned into a martyr

His supporters will never ever become more responsible, when annoyed they cough in people's faces in Walmart

CarrotInATree · 02/10/2020 10:26

You would have to be extremely politically naive to think this is good news for the left.

Hmmph · 02/10/2020 10:26

*Why I’d Donald trump or Boris Johnson responsible for Covid deaths? They are supposed to following the advice of scientists.

Why do you need some one to die?*

I am not at the stage of wanting him to die. BUT I do wonder if in the future we will look back and think it would be better if he had. Not because of Covid deaths in America, but because of how he is trying to rig the postal votes, saying he is going to not give up power if he loses the election and stirring up white supremacists. That could end up with being a very bad road for America and the world. It indicates a POTENTIAL for him to become a dictator who supports white supremacy. There is a potential for him to become a very, very evil man.

Destinysdaughter · 02/10/2020 10:28

Reading the comments on Twitter, looks like a huge number don't believe it. Well, if you're a president who screams 'fake news' at everything you don't like, don't be surprised when.pp don't believe YOU!

Windywendys · 02/10/2020 10:32

I suppose every one is entitled to their views 😬

@FrankMcG
He is in several high-risk groups — elderly, obese, low-income.

I suppose that for you Antifa and the left wing extremists are ok? They are harmless. What about Biden trying to get in as president just to leave Kamala in charge. Is that ok too?

KenDodd · 02/10/2020 10:40

This is the last thing I want to happen.

I agree. His supporters will say he was murdered.

Heptember · 02/10/2020 10:42

I think he will defeat this with his gigantic stockpile of covfefe.

Roussette · 02/10/2020 10:42

I want him to live. To be trounced at the election. And to face all the lawsuits waiting for him when he is forced to leave the WH

Windywendys · 02/10/2020 10:44

Blamed for what? People don’t like because what she has been involved in.

Look I’m not a DT supporter by any means but HC is no angel. She’s a proven liar, she’s been investigated by the FBI over missing emails, so many scandals surround her financial dealings - plus she knicked loads of White House furniture Grin

She is just as bad as DT

Tbh I don’t know the ins and outs of American politics. I don’t have a vote so I don’t need to.

I don’t at all think that the far left aren’t dangerous nor that Biden is a saint. I don’t actually know much about him.

But Trump has said about postal votes, not accepting results and supporting white supremacists which makes me very nervous. “When someone tells you who they are...” as MN relationship threads often say.

Anyway, hopefully I am wrong. We’ll find out in a few years.

BruceAndNosh · 02/10/2020 11:01

I am showing as much sympathy for Trump as he has shown for the 200k who have died and their bereaved families

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 02/10/2020 11:04

Don't be ridiculous, @Windywendys. The email investigation found nothing remotely comparable to the numerous scandals around Trump. Multiple women have alleged he sexually assaulted them. He is an out and out misogynist and a racist. He has utterly failed to condemn white supremacists, even encouraged them. He has presided over a regime that separates immigrant children from parents and keeps them in horrific conditions. Some have died. Many women have had forced hysterectomies in detention camps. He has whipped up racism and xenophobia from the early days of his election campaign. America's reputation across the world has suffered.

He appears to have paid almost no tax for many years. He inherited a large fortune, portrays himself as a crack businessman, but in reality most of the businesses he's run have done poorly or failed, including a casino, which is almost a licence to print money. He has cost the US taxpayer vast sums by going off to one of his golf clubs every weekend instead of staying in the White House or one of the other Presidential abodes. His family are freeloaders of a high order, and have made a lot of money trading on his high profile as President.

His election campaign in 2016 was dirty in the extreme, even if not outright corrupt. He is a serial liar. He avoided military service in Vietnam not out of principled objection to the Vietnam war, but by getting a very dubious medical exemption, strongly suggesting he's a selfish coward. And then he had the gall to insult Senator John McCain.

"He's a war hero because he was captured," he said. "I like people that weren't captured." Mr McCain was held and repeatedly tortured for five-and-a-half years after his plane was shot down in the Vietnam war.

And now he's threatening the constitution by making noises about refusing to accept the election result.

He is beneath contempt. I don't hope he dies, but I can't summon up any sympathy for him if he does fall ill.

If DT does die (and I'm not wishing that on him or his family), I guess it could mean that files and tax records etc might be released sooner than otherwise.

Hang on - Show me a post where I’ve said I think DT is a great guy. You can’t because I’ve never said that so not sure why you are having to reel off stuff he has done Confused

I was replying to a PP about HC. She comes with her own shady baggage.

They are both as shady as each other.

There is no equivalence, HC has never been in power, Trump has/is and we've seen what he has done with it.

Most recently rallying his base to block polling stations, the actions of a dictator - Clinton had a private email account that she used for work, hardly destabilising democracy and no action taken by the FBI, indeed the timing of the investigation had a positive affect on Trumps election..... far more worrying.

Your POV is exactly what we see here in the UK, an opposition politician, never so much as been anywhere near the wheels of power is blamed for the nations ills.

Notonthestairs · 02/10/2020 11:16

If you are going to look for equivalency surely you look at the behaviour and dealings of previous presidents.

I suppose Nixon might give Trump a run for his (tax free) money.

Figgygal · 02/10/2020 11:17

I don’t wish him dead but I hope he’s as sick as a fucking dog.
No sympathy for him if it’s even true otherwise I suspect he’s just going for the sympathy vote because His re-election campaign is going so badLy
