He's just a terrible old wanker with extreme right wing views is he?

I don't know very much about him apart from he comes from the famous Fox family, he was married to Billie Piper, he was in the TV series Lewis alongside Kevin Whately, and he made a racist arse of himself on Question Time last year.

So what's he up to now? Has he gone even more off the rails?

Didnt know he had attacked rebecca front. Posted her private text in public as well. Shes a1000 times better actor and person than hel ever be.

Those who see this as a 'breathe of fresh air'. Its the kind of fresh air we've been seeing here and in the US for 5 year now. Is the already unrepairable damage its done not fresh enough for you yet?

Ironically doing exactly the same thing he complains about. I suppose it's not cancel culture and online pile ons if someone who isn't 'woke' does it.

Grinwho the hell do you think you are with the you know it and I know it
I don't know it and neither do you because neither of us can read minds
The world is nuts.
Like I said I'm not fussed either way about him. You can be fussed but you cannot claim to know others motivations or thoughts
Unless you have a special gift and can see into the soul. If that's the case join the Lib dens there is a place for you

@Ocip

Long before he became a flag bearer for the oppressed white middle class male I was a make-up artist on a show he was in. He was an utter twat: rude, demanding, irritable, self obsessed. I’ve worked with many actors and actresses and he was the singularly least pleasant of all of them.

That's interesting.

I've often thought that he would be like this - just from his twitter posts - but thought I was just pigeon-holing him because he was an upper class twit, and not a very good actor who achieved success because of the family name (and few of us wouldn't if we got the chance), which made me project to him being Not Very Nice.

I must be a better judge of character than I realised.

Some people find his views somehow entertaining. He'll get booked on TV shows, he already has his own 'political' radio show if I'm not wrong. He's a bit like a slightly more handsome Nigel Farage. He'll start his own party, and like Farage, he'll make money out of it. And very possibly create a lot of damage along the way.

Didn't he have a "go-fund-me" thingammy going to keep him in cash because he wasn't getting much work at the moment?

(This is vague in my mind, so I may have conflated two or more stories, in which case i apologise and than in advance anyone who puts me right.)

I wonder what the responses on AIBU would be to someone posting private text messages from a friend all over Twitter?

He certainly sees women as lesser - his comments about the #metoo movement on the Triggernometry podcast were shocking. Apparently, female acters should expect to be fair game to any man in the industry who wants to assault them (because according to him there's an unspoken "rule" that they all know about). He also states that he got into acting so he could creep on lead female acters. He also doesn't like the fact that sex scenes are now choreographed because he enjoyed going at it freestyle and figuring out what she "likes". Envy

His music is unintentionally hilarious though, so thanks for that Lozza.

He is a POS. I love Richard Ayoade with all my heart and can't imagine having a have fox as a brother in law. He was furious about his comments apparently and told him "you have never experienced racism".

This is gross. I haven't listened to the podcast - and won't but this is totally disgusting.

OK there's a lot of dodgy views on this thread, but this one, the one that has 'handsome' and 'Nigel Farage' in the same sentence concerns me.

Are you okay QueenBlueberries?

Another odious man who thinks so highly of himself that he thinks the whole world should stop and listen to what he's go to say. I've filed him away in the utter knobber box along with Farage, Trump, De Piffle, and quite a few others.

A party which is only focused on free speech is a massive mistake. Parties need coherent platforms, not just "c'mon, let's say everything no-one else will," which is not politics: it's the internet, which already exists.

Meanwhile, all political parties should be committed to freedom of expression. They may argue against views they despise, because that's the best defence against those views, but #nodebate has proven counter-productive, and has de-skilled generations of citizens.

It is certainly a dreadful warning against letting our children grow up thinking life owes them.

For an actor, it's hard to imagine anyone more privileged. Born into a famous and wealthy acting family, went to Harrow where he will have had the chance to make the kind of contacts useful in his profession, then got into RADA, did I say lots of contacts- and so far from being embittered by failing to emulate his family's success he got a peach of a part in the long-running Lewis series and actually did a very good job of it. It's not even as if the man is incompetent (apart from his singing): he is a perfectly decent actor with all the backing needed to do well. And he has evidently never experienced racism, misogyny, classism, poverty or anything else holding him back.

If that is something to feel hard done by, then heaven help the rest of us!

But you don't understand, @corythatwas, such privilege is a terrible burden. Awful, darling, especially when you have important, yet witless, things to say and nobody other than your minted mates wants to applaud them. Can you get your money back from Eton/Harrow/any other top rank public school when your investment proves to be of such little worth?
