He's just a terrible old wanker with extreme right wing views is he?

I don't know very much about him apart from he comes from the famous Fox family, he was married to Billie Piper, he was in the TV series Lewis alongside Kevin Whately, and he made a racist arse of himself on Question Time last year.

So what's he up to now? Has he gone even more off the rails?

@AnnaMagnani

I'm sure the Tory donors who have bunged him £5 million to start a new party will be shocked to discover he isn't right wing ConfusedHmm

Apparently starting new right wing parties is all the rage right now anyway. When I looked on his twitter, his keenest followers were upset that they would have to pick between his and about 3 that had just launched.

Perhaps they all need a new home after UKIP/Brexit party.

He is so bloody desperate, he even retweeted an article that described his new party as "UKIP for culture".

I think he talked a lot of sense and got attacked and completely ragged for it and probably lost his career. He's a victim of the shameful Cancel Culture we've allowed to go on for so long and I hope he manages to make a come back.

I'd be embarrassed to admit he had anything to say that was worth listening too.

I'd love to know how they all get on at Fox family dinners. Are they all behind him? Do they disagree with him? Do they respect him, or find him a bit foolish?

Richard Ayoade (his BIL) was allegedly furious at him following the QT debacle and refused to support him on social media.

He clearly is quite troubled. His admission that he had been affected by YouTube videos he'd been recommended suggest he is not the most best frame of mind.

Some of his most troubling (and least reported) views were on a podcast, where he said white people were being outnumbered and complaining that nearly all of his nephews and nieces were mixed race. This would explain why Richard Ayoade (his brother in law) was not too happy with him.

I think he needs a good dose of therapy.

Well his girlfriend who is mixed race, didn't seem to agree with him (or you).

He's just a bitter angry man who has monumentally fucked up his career and is now desperately seeking attention. As someone else said, he's aiming for Katie Hopkins territory.

He didn't complain that there was a Sikh in a WW1 film. He complained about the tokenist nature of a single sikh soldier
You wouldn't have a single sikh soldier it would be a whole troop of them
So many people now pile on without actually bothering to read what a person said, they read others opinions of what they said
I saw a pile on today about him wearing a nazi uniform despite him playing a nazi in a filmGrin

He claimed it was racist to call him a white privileged male. How is that talking sense?

Very easy to see 1 video, get more recommended, stay in your filter bubble, have your views reinforced etc

Long before he became a flag bearer for the oppressed white middle class male I was a make-up artist on a show he was in. He was an utter twat: rude, demanding, irritable, self obsessed. I’ve worked with many actors and actresses and he was the singularly least pleasant of all of them.

Lefties seem to think that cancelling POVs they don't agree with is actually good. God forbid you're triggered by a non woke person. Quickly to your safe spaces please - someone is talking and you won't like t.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7915341/Laurence-Fox-admits-didnt-know-Sikh-soldiers-fought-shoulder-shoulder-British.html

But other foreign soldiers also fought within British regiments, it emerged after actor Laurence Fox criticised the 'incongruous' inclusion of a Sikh soldier in the film 1917.
Sikh historian Peter Singh Bance said Sikhs and other Indians fought with the British Army corps, such as the 1st Manchesters and the 47th Sikhs fighting as one.
Mr Bance today told Fox to 'check his facts', saying: 'Laurence Fox is incorrect with his facts as Sikhs did fight with British forces, not just with their own regiments.'
He told MailOnline: 'There were definitely Sikhs and other Indian soldiers who fought among the British Army corps, and they wore the same uniform

Still - as Fox said "He's not a historian'

How many complaints were made about Diversity?
How many people complained about that necklace?
How many people are upset and cancelling memberships because slavery is being discussed?

People on the right have an issue with people talking and need their safe spaces to - where they don't have to hear about difficult issues.

'Cancel culture' mostly means lots of people think you are a bit of a twat ,which Laurence Fox is.

It seems to be the new buzz word.

Laurence Fox is not a victim of anything apart from his own overwheening ego and self regard. Silly boy. Still, room for another Ukippy party now Nige has trotted off. Cant wait for the Christmas edition of his collected thoughts. A slim volume.

It's interesting that @AnnaMagnani says he got involved with f4j. I just came on to say he reminds me of literally every middle aged divorced dad in my town who seem to spend their 40s and 50s getting angrier at the rest of the world. The type who's anger and sense of injustice seems to be directly proportionate to how happy their ex partner is now they're no longer together.

I also find it weird that the majority of his outbursts are closely followed by an apology or retraction.

Being a historian helps you have an opinion on Sikh soldiers in WW1 if that's your speciality.

If you don't know about Sikh soldiers in WW1, then express an opinion on it, then you can expect people who do know about it to tell you the reality.

If only the right had issues about being heard at the moment....
If only they had large platforms in the mainstream media, in print media etc....

I feel for them and their struggle to be heard and to express their point of view at what must be a difficult time for them.
