Just trying to live a meaningful life in an increasingly bizarre world in which nothing makes sense any more.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 30/09/2020 17:07

I'm not watching yet. Going to the pub for tea...

BogRollBOGOF · 30/09/2020 17:16

Forgive me ADs for I have done baking Grin

I've had a cake craving for days and CBA with going to a cafe or shop, so I have made my own.
Some kind of chocolate and bitter orange chocolate chip and marmalade concoction. Wow, it was gooood Grin

I did not corript the DCs with my wholesome endevour. DS2 already came home from school in the kind of state where you cn accurately deduce thàt art involved charcoal Wink

Orangeblossom7777 · 30/09/2020 17:21

Look after yourself is much better.

Willow2017 · 30/09/2020 17:50

There is a post where not following guidelines to the letter means you might as well stick your hand in a meat grinder or walk across the road blindfold in busy traffic. Obviously can't work out the degrees of risk in real life all the time!

Orangeblossom7777 · 30/09/2020 17:52

Press conference seems mainly doom and gloom, beagle or could get worse restrictions...(hopefully not) not much else though to report

Orangeblossom7777 · 30/09/2020 17:52

behave, not beagle!

RobinHobb · 30/09/2020 18:19

Gah
I hate stay safe too
@BogRollBOGOF I want to eat cake now

I was in hospital with some random bilateral pneumonia on 22 March, having been going around 3 weeks before that saying it's just a cold (I have lung issues, but haven't had pneumonia for like 20 odd years). I was admitted (reluctantly are they wanted to save beds and I was not blue in the face), but had very low 02. My husband and I still convinced it was a false negative and even the consultant said he was convinced it was covid because of the presentation.

Anyway I spent 5 weeks of lockdown exhausted and eating my weight in chocolate and crisps. Then I got up and started c25k again, went on a diet (I'm not massively overweight, maybe 10lbs or so left over baby weight). I'm now about the same weight as during uni days, running 5k, 3 xweek and feeling so much better. Glad I did it because I really needed something to make me feel better and positive. Wearing size 24 super skinny jeans again!

But
I
Do
Want
Cake
:-)

Willow2017 · 30/09/2020 18:24

I want cake too. Ds1 got shopping yesterday but said not much left on shelf so got French fancies. Yeuk so disgustingly sweet to my knackered taste buds☹ Cba making one as by time it's ready to eat I won't be able to eat dairy! No fair stamps feet

justasking111 · 30/09/2020 18:24

When you think you have heard it all a person on local FB page wrote this.

Owen of course so many people blinkered. I know personally of 2 home tests sent back Unused and came back positive and 2 other people couldn't wait the 25 minutes to be tested and theirs came back positive!

Willow2017 · 30/09/2020 18:27

Saw that mentioned on U4T. Quite a few people having test results back that weren't done including a pharmacist who didnt have time to wait in the long queue for a booked appointment.

Wheytaminute · 30/09/2020 18:29

I don't even know what that means?

But Facebook doesn't always make sense. So

justasking111 · 30/09/2020 18:41

Facebook the gift that keeps giving Grin

"negative test for covid does not necessarily mean the patient doesn’t have it. Drs look at all results, xrays, ct scans and blood results to make a diagnosis."

wanderings · 30/09/2020 18:45

I've just looked at the roundup of today's "briefing" on the BBC website. Did Saint Boris actually tell us anything we didn't know already?

Was anything said about London lockdown? (The only part of the country he'd think about?)

Did he come up with a three-word slogan this time? He failed in that duty last week.

dkl55 · 30/09/2020 18:51

Does anyone else get the rage at "keeping you safe" or "for your own safety" signs everywhere? So bloody patronising. And no thank you John Lewis, I don't need you to keep me safe. I've managed for 40 years.

dkl55 · 30/09/2020 19:00

@wanderings the bbc is remarkably undementory. Covid: The second wave is here - but how bad will it be? www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-54362994

RobinHobb · 30/09/2020 19:03

Strangely balanced and reassuring from the bbc

www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-54362994

RobinHobb · 30/09/2020 19:04

@dkl55
Sorry! Cross post!!!

Curlygirl06 · 30/09/2020 19:12

Been to work, still got a job as I've not punched anyone today-result!! Still having to tell people to stand in the right place, scan their loyalty cards etc, a few snotty customers, but tomorrow is another day.

Taswama · 30/09/2020 19:17

Its the end of September, I should have been to at least 2 coffee mornings in the last week or so. But no.
I can't bear to watch the three xxxx . Will just read news reports instead.

JamSarnie · 30/09/2020 19:21

I need Wine.

Everytime there is a Boris tv briefing DH goes a bit DM again Angry

I wish he wouldn't watch them but he insists.

NowYouListenToMeFella · 30/09/2020 19:23

@TheOrchidKiller

DPs are actually en route to my house!!! It's been 9 months since we've clapped eyes on each other (apart from the failed attempts at videos, which we gave up on).

I'm excited. They phoned to say they had stopped for a picnic & to use the service station toilets but they won't touch anything, & they have wipes!!

So yes, excited. But also, give me strength. (I see their wipes. I raise them wipes, spray & hand gel! I draw the line at opening windows as it's too cold).

Lovely news. Enjoy the visit.
DorsetBlueMovie · 30/09/2020 19:26

That particular correspondent has been pretty balanced in other pieces, unlike some of his BBC counterparts.

Orangeblossom7777 · 30/09/2020 19:44

We have an apple pie. Glad to hear BBC is not too dementory. It depends on the reporter, there is one who seems more balanced recently.
