Any new Eufy Robovac parents out there?

A couple of weeks ago there was a flurry of recommendations for the Eufy RoboVac on a couple of threads.
Several posters declared they would be buying one. I was one of them.
I wondered how other new owners were getting on. We are delighted with ours.
To start with it did not seem like a time saver, but this was because we were so fascinated with its purposeful scurrying that we just sat and watched it.
Now it gets going via the app every morning at 6.30 and does three rooms plus many yards of hall carpet.
It is truly amazing how much it picks up. After four days on the same route it still fills up each time. It seems to be mainly picking up dust, but where does it keep coming from?
Just two complaints: the small pieces of adhesive paper supplied is not very sticky. You use those if you want to create a barrier. When you interrupt its routine to tell it to go back to its base it won’t go straight there but rather indignantly insists on going via the pretty route.

Otherwise great!
Anyone else?

Been pondering over one of these for ages so finally hit the Add to Basket button.
Ordered a 30c from Amazon £189.99 (£40 voucher ends tomorrow), will arrive Monday!

nephthys · 15/08/2020 15:12

I’ve just ordered one too. Thank you to TrickyD for mentioning £60 discount voucher on eufylife website. I’dve ordered it from Amazon without thinking to look at the maker’s website.

I am glad so many of you have ordered one , they really are great little vacs.
Next time you strip the bed stick him on there ( he wont fall off ) you will be amazed / horrified at the amount he picks up.

They are very easy to empty and clean out but just a word of warning if you wash the filters (three different ones ) make sure they are very dry before putting him back together , mine must of been very slightly damp and it got clogged up really easy meaning he refused to work .

I could now do with a small rechargeable vac to just do the stairs some thing like this

www.amazon.com/SEBIDER-Handheld-Powerful-Cordless-Lightweight/dp/B088F4MVN8/ref=sr_1_12_sspa?dchild=1&psc=1&keywords=cordless+handheld+eufy+vacuum+cleaners&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzS1NENE9WU0VDQUgzJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMjYxMjg4MVJUR0pMUFRXTzROViZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwOTc1NjMwMkJNTUVMUTNEOEdWQyZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX210ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1597511834&sr=8-12-spons
But I have never owned one of them , it will only get used once a month week so it does not need to be a fancy one.
Can anyone recommend one ?

avocuddl · 15/08/2020 18:51

It's here!!!! 😱😱😱😱 I've literally never been so excited in my life!!

TrickyD · 15/08/2020 19:28

avocuddl , so pleased he has arrived safely, when will the PILs be allowed to visit the new family member?

@avocuddl
Shift all your wires, shoe laces , small bits of DC, Ddogs Dcats toys out of the way and let him go and play Grin Grin
And of course report back Wink

Of course go and letting him go play will involve hovering over him like the worlds worst helicopter parent, watching like a hawk and giving words of gentle encouragement and praise Grin

What’s the set up process like?

Anything remotely complicated has a tendency to stay in the box!!

TrickyD · 15/08/2020 20:11

No, just find somewhere with some clear space around it to keep the charger, then plug the charger in, pop the Eufy onto it, press the button and off it will go on a short excursion if it has a residual charge in it when it arrives, as ours did..
Otherwise contain your impatience and give it a few hours.

oh please, please someone let me know next time they see the 15cmax on offer..... I so want to be a eufy parent too!!!

Waytoomuch82 · 15/08/2020 21:07

And the app straightforward?

Do you know if I can start it working remotely ie if leaving the house i start it and then I can turn it off whilst I’m out (like I can do with with my heating is my smart phone on the nest app)

Waytoomuch82 · 15/08/2020 21:07

Thanks OP, oh eufy wise one!

Yes you can control it from the app whilst out. Or you can schedule times and days for it to clean automatically.
DobbyTheHouseElk · 16/08/2020 08:32

It’s on its way!!

Strange though because it arrived in one city an hour north of me, then in the night it travelled south to a city an hour and a half away from me. So it’s sort of past us by in the night.

Really strange. It’s had a random journey in the night of 2hrs+ which it didn’t need to do.

Sexnotgender · 16/08/2020 08:34

9pm!! Better be here before 9!

Mine left the depot an hour ago. Says it will be here by 8pm.

I think it can from Holland originally? Definitely wasn’t in the UK to start with. Such a tracking geek!

Sexnotgender · 16/08/2020 08:51

Mine was in the uk I think. I live near an amazon depot.

avocuddl · 16/08/2020 09:07

Well Harry (hoover) took his maiden voyage this morning and he did not disappoint!! I read somewhere online to let him charge overnight so I resisted trying him yesterday evening and my DD was very pleased to try him out for the first time! She was chasing him around saying 'he's tickling me!' (She's 2) so worth it for the entertainment factor alone! She's already adorned him with some toys (beans and a fruit cocktail 🤷🏽‍♀️) but need to watch her like a hawk because she keeps trying to hold him or stand on him 🤦🏽‍♀️. I left him in the kitchen and I cannot explain my joy when I got out the shower looked down the stairs and saw Harry scurrying across the hall downstairs 🙊 DH said he struggled to get over the threshold though so he's going to have to work on his agility.
How long does yours take to hoover everywhere? He seems quite meticulous so can imagine it taking a while.

It is obviously practising for random journeys around your living room.

Has anyone’s Eufy arrived yet?? No sign of mine yet. It’s due to be here by 8pm.

GingerPCatt · 16/08/2020 12:25

I got one yesterday for my birthday and I love him! He's so cute as he scoots all over. The only thing is that he seems to get lonely and follows me into the kitchen when I've set him up in the lounge.

Sexnotgender · 16/08/2020 13:08

He’s on his way😍

@Sexnotgender

He’s on his way😍
Mine has arrived. Got some things to do first before opening him and releasing him into the hairy hell of my carpets.
Sexnotgender · 16/08/2020 14:17

Mine is here too. Didn’t get to unpack him though as going to friends 😫
