Any new Eufy Robovac parents out there?

A couple of weeks ago there was a flurry of recommendations for the Eufy RoboVac on a couple of threads.
Several posters declared they would be buying one. I was one of them.
I wondered how other new owners were getting on. We are delighted with ours.
To start with it did not seem like a time saver, but this was because we were so fascinated with its purposeful scurrying that we just sat and watched it.
Now it gets going via the app every morning at 6.30 and does three rooms plus many yards of hall carpet.
It is truly amazing how much it picks up. After four days on the same route it still fills up each time. It seems to be mainly picking up dust, but where does it keep coming from?
Just two complaints: the small pieces of adhesive paper supplied is not very sticky. You use those if you want to create a barrier. When you interrupt its routine to tell it to go back to its base it won’t go straight there but rather indignantly insists on going via the pretty route.

Otherwise great!
Anyone else?

You want to unpack them first and get them plugged in to charge, otherwise you'll have to wait to try them out!!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 16/08/2020 16:48

I’m unpacking in a moment! Will charge him up first.

It's disappointing that so few parents have shared photos of their little darling...

Brian is charging...

Hippocampe · 16/08/2020 17:59

Oooh I'm really tempted to get one reading these reviews. Only issue I have is our house is over three floors, ground floor is just one huge room, mainly hard floors, but we do have a large round wool rug... It's probably half an inch difference from floor to rug as it's a deep wool pile, do you think it would make it up on to the rug? Happy to carry it to the other floors of the house, bit if it can't do the rug it would be pointless. Thanks!!

NiceGerbil · 16/08/2020 17:59

Did you switch Brian on with the button underneath?

Assuming it's similar to mine!

NiceGerbil · 16/08/2020 18:00

Oops sorry misread that! Thought it said not charging Hmm soz

NiceGerbil · 16/08/2020 18:02

Ours just desperately forced itself over the bottom of the washing airer then couldn't jump back again but I think a rug would be ok

I'm going to have to put the airer away when he goes round which is good cos at the moment it just stays out forever.

Trashtara · 16/08/2020 18:08

Hippocampe yes, will make it on to the rug.

Perhaps parents feel he/she looks a bit plain and are waiting until they have fitted him with one of those headbands with bows designed for bald babies.

Oh God help us, pray not!

@NiceGerbil - action shot much appreciated. He's very cute!

@ thank you to those who willingly contributed photos earlier.

Any pets want to get in on the action?!

I'd love to see the siblings loving them, but understand people's reluctance to post photos of their children these days. (It was lovely years ago when there were lots of photos of everyone's kids doing all kinds of things! Many cute 'baking' ones with more ingredients on little faces than in bowls! ).

Nordstrom · 16/08/2020 18:27

Mine arrived today! She is currently whizzing around the kitchen.

BestOption · 16/08/2020 18:29

I love the way Avvo's DD has turned theirs into a kind of waitressing unit 🤣

@BeeFarseer - what beautiful eyes yours has!!

Waytoomuch82 · 16/08/2020 18:58

Bigger than I imagined!!

I’m impressed so far! He’s charging again.

@BestOption have seen someone on Instagram that got their coffee delivered by their Eufy! That's my goal 🙊

Sexnotgender · 16/08/2020 20:03

One shiny new Eufy and one very unimpressed dog!

Here's mine being monitored carefully by Fluffers. I'm hoping that one of the cats will want to ride around on him.

Sexnotgender · 16/08/2020 20:39

My cats haven’t seen him yet.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 16/08/2020 21:26

I’m so sorry, things suddenly got a bit crazy here.

I started to charge him up and pressed the big button to test the WIFI and he suddenly woke up and shot out of his house and heading for the cats water bowl. Then he ran around the house for an hour before running out of charge and returning to his house.

Cat was very puzzled, especially when he went under the sofa. Cat went to tap Eufy and then reversed quickly when Eufy came to chase him.

I will attach photos. But don’t want to wake him up now he’s sleeping.

I have a problem, I can’t set up the phone controls but that’s probably me and my lack of skills.

nessnessness · 16/08/2020 21:30

Just got my email - mines been despatched! Can't wait for tomorrow after work to start him/her up... will decide on sex and name when I see him/her Smile

DobbyTheHouseElk · 16/08/2020 21:34

Here he is getting to know the house.

I am so glad so many have arrived on the same day , you can all have a joint birthday party next year Grin
My cat was very unimpressed at first but now he ignores him unless Eufy bumps into Dcats bed ( which he seems to do more than I would think is warranted , I am sure Eufy thinks he should be allowed in the bed . I wonder if I should build Eufy a kennel ?
