To think the Princess Beatrice photos released by e RF are a bit naff?

I love a good Royal wedding I do and was looking forward to seeing the portrait pictures of Beatrice at Buckingham Palace like we have with other royal weddings.

So was disappointed that this is what the RF have released news.sky.com/story/princess-beatrice-wedding-first-photos-from-ceremony-show-royal-in-queens-dress-and-tiara-12031462

I'd love to say she looks gorgeous, and I'm sure she does but I can't tell! Is it just me who thinks they look like they've been taken with an iPhone from afar by a fan in a bush or something?

Maybe they didn't have a professional photographer there cos it was so hush hush. And the social distancing rules means the pic of her and her grandparents is so zoomed out you cant make out any of the details.

teezletangler · 19/07/2020 01:47

I think the photos are beautiful. Love the socially distanced one with the queen, very of the moment. But I agree- the dress is clearly stunning but I can't see it! However portrait shots (not including her family, ahem) may come out in the coming days- I think that's how it normally works?

CalmYoBadSelf · 19/07/2020 01:54

I think they are lovely. I haven't seen the Queen and Prince Philip look so genuinely happy for quite a while as on that pic even though they are distanced

I really like them, nice and informal

greenlynx · 19/07/2020 02:02

My suspicion is that they did some family photos without much social distancing and that’s why didn’t release them.
Also these photos were chosen probably so we couldn’t count how many guests were present or see any other details.

Allmyeye · 19/07/2020 02:08

Disappointing. What everyone wants is a good look at the frock.

ElizabethMainwaring · 19/07/2020 02:11

She looks very glowy!
I love the fact that her dress and tiara were the Queen's. HMQ must be very fond of her.

LaureBerthaud · 19/07/2020 02:20

It's a nice contrast to her sister's wedding.

stellabelle · 19/07/2020 02:59

They were married at Windsor - so I guess that is why there aren't any "Buckingham Palace pictures".

If you look at the close-ups of the pictures you can see the dress quite clearly. HMQ wore it in 1961 so it's a real vintage number, and quite lovely.

Loveinatimeofcovid · 19/07/2020 03:04

Do you mean the candid photo of them leaving the church? I think it’s quite nice, they both look quite happy.

FortunesFave · 19/07/2020 04:19

Who cares? As long as they're happy. What does your opinion on the quality of the photos have to do with anyone or anything? Confused

Dogsaresomucheasier · 19/07/2020 04:25

I don’t normally get too excited about the royal family and was expecting her to go for something hideous. She looks absolutely lovely. I’d love this to start a tradition of recycled dresses...might persuade dd to give mine another outing in a couple of years!

Dita73 · 19/07/2020 05:06

I thought they looked fake

jessstan2 · 19/07/2020 05:24

I think the photos are gorgeous and don't look amateur. In time, I am sure more will be released.

Frownette · 19/07/2020 05:30

I thought it looked quite an intimate wedding which is nice.

MargotMoon · 19/07/2020 05:47

They look like a pair of grinning idiots.

Bluntness100 · 19/07/2020 05:54

I think she looks lovely and the photos are very sweet and informal. They also look very happy.

mathanxiety · 19/07/2020 06:31

It wasn't a 'hush hush' wedding.

It was a socially distanced wedding conducted in accordance with the guidelines.

howlat · 19/07/2020 06:43

I think it must have been wonderful for HMQ and Prince Phillip to attend a family wedding in private. To just enjoy their family and not have TV cameras or thousands of people there. I get that that's their duty etc but still, nice they could have a more normal, if socially distanced, experience.

Pelleas · 19/07/2020 06:57

I'm no fan of the Royals, but I thought the photos were nice - particularly the one showing Beatrice peering out of the flowered arch.

If you're superstitious, Beatrice certainly covered old and borrowed!

thecognoscenti · 19/07/2020 07:00

@MargotMoon

They look like a pair of grinning idiots.
Should they not smile on their wedding day?
Bouledeneige · 19/07/2020 07:01

The one outside the church with the Queen and Prince Phillip looks photoshopped - with that line down it. Maybe her parents were chopped out? I think its a bit of an odd picture.

I also think they may have taken a lot that were not socially distanced. And agree thats its a bit disappointing not to be able to see the dress. She looks very radiant though.

Veganforlife · 19/07/2020 07:03

No ,they are lovely ,she looked lovely
No need to be negative

DobbyTheHouseElk · 19/07/2020 07:26

I can’t see the line in the photo.

zigzagbetty · 19/07/2020 07:34

I thought she looked lovely in the vintage dress. It would be lovely if this started a trend for recycled wedding dresses. The Queen looks so happy in the picture, she must be on of her favourite gc.
