To think the Princess Beatrice photos released by e RF are a bit naff?

I love a good Royal wedding I do and was looking forward to seeing the portrait pictures of Beatrice at Buckingham Palace like we have with other royal weddings.

So was disappointed that this is what the RF have released news.sky.com/story/princess-beatrice-wedding-first-photos-from-ceremony-show-royal-in-queens-dress-and-tiara-12031462

I'd love to say she looks gorgeous, and I'm sure she does but I can't tell! Is it just me who thinks they look like they've been taken with an iPhone from afar by a fan in a bush or something?

The line is in this photo - running vertically down into the groom's head. It would seem hard to splice a picture through a couple but the line just looks odd. Maybe its only in this version?

I think it looks lovely. Like weddings used to be. They look relaxed and happy.

binkyblinky · 19/07/2020 07:40

I think she looks absolutely gorgeous. I love her dress and the one of them coming out of the door.

I'm
Sure they'll release some more soon!

*mathanxiety

It wasn't a 'hush hush' wedding.*

Er, it was. No publicity, no formal announcement in advance, just a small intimate wedding because, presumably, they were fed up with postponing it. I also liked that they didn't release the photos on the day as they didn't want to overshadow Sir Tom's moment. Thoughtful and kind.

SayakaMurata · 19/07/2020 07:42

I think it's nice that she wore a vintage dress belonging to the Queen. What a lovely idea, and maybe something that other brides could think about doing.

Although obviously her family does have a large collection of beautiful clothes and jewelery to use, far more than most!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 19/07/2020 07:44

Oh ok, I see it now, but in larger pics it’s clearly a wall that follows up to the gable end of the church.

Tyranttoddler · 19/07/2020 07:45

I think it looks beautiful. Nice to see a relatively low key royal wedding.

CircleofWillis · 19/07/2020 07:45

I think the pictures are lovely and the families emotions look relaxed and very genuine. They made me smile.

If I were part of the Royal family I would have felt extremely relieved to have had such a good reason to escape the horrible media scrutiny of a royal wedding.

"Quick Bea, hot foot it from Windsor to Buck Pal, there's a Mumsnetter waiting for a specific shot"

The pics are lovely - she looks incredibly happy.

That’s just a door open a bit in the church?

That's the edge of a door panel with light reflecting off it.

NiceTwin · 19/07/2020 07:54

How mean spirited.

They look lovely and happy and I thought her dress was beautiful.

MrsCollinssettled · 19/07/2020 07:56

The line is the edge of a wall that juts out at right angles to the main part of the church. The flower covered wall that runs parallel to the church connects to it.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 19/07/2020 08:00

I love them! Yes I'd selfishly like to see more of the dress, because it looks gorgeous and she looks lovely it it. But otherwise I think they are lovely photos.

The distanced one is a bit of a shame because they have to be so far apart but I suppose you can't really risk killing off the monarch for a better shot, can you?

I expect there may be more photos released at a later date. It will depend a bit on what happens with Prince Andrew I suppose.

@MargotMoon

They look like a pair of grinning idiots.
Oh heaven forbid someone SMILES on their wedding day. Fucking hell 😂😂
Shieldingending · 19/07/2020 08:03

I thought they were lovely photos, everyone looks so happy. She can't help her father!

Whereas this comment isn't idiotic at all.

Smiling on their wedding day, the audacity!

Sarahandco · 19/07/2020 08:12

I completely disagree!

Sarahandco · 19/07/2020 08:13

I think they are really lovely - why would you start such a thread?

Rae36 · 19/07/2020 08:16

I think they're lovely. It would have been a bit weird to release photos of her with Prince Andrew right now, wouldn't it? They've handled it well and they look really happy. I hope they had a good day.

MarshaBradyo · 19/07/2020 08:18

Nice less showy, I like the Queen one.

Seems at the right level atm

justanotherneighinparadise · 19/07/2020 08:20

I like the second one in that link, she looks radiant!

I do feel sorry for her to be honest. She’s marrying a man who already has a child and seems to have abandoned his former relationship directly he had the opportunity to better himself socially. He father is in hiding. She’s trying to get married in the middle of a pandemic whilst mindful that her fertile years are slipping through an egg timer.

Slipping through an egg timer?! She's 31!
SerendipitySunshine · 19/07/2020 08:24

I thought the pictures were lovely, everyone looked happy and I love the vintage dress.

Quarantimespringclean · 19/07/2020 08:25

Lol at the iPhone comment - please let me know what model you have. My iPhone takes great pictures but none with that level of detail and clarity. You can see every petal of the flower arch and every bead on the dress in pin sharp focus and the colour variation is amazing. . I’m due an upgrade next month and I’d be willing to splash out on a phone with a camera that good.
