5 ft 3, how much do you weigh?

Jula332 · 09/07/2020 12:00

After years of avoiding the scales out of the fear I would slip back into having a weight complex, I braved it today when visiting my osteopath.

I'm 10 stone and stand at 5 ft 3. My dress size ranges from 10-12 depending where I shop.

I'm not sure whether to be relieved or disappointed as whilst I haven't been at all careful about dieting or maintaining, I've heard a few people say how being within 8 stone is the ideal for somebody my height.

I'm not obese but am a bit flabby in some places. I think I look nice in clothes.

If you are 5 ft 3 or close to, how much do you weigh?

11st 8lbs
I’m a size 12-14, massive boobs, slimmer legs

Need to lose about a stone

PopsicleHustler · 09/07/2020 15:01

Interestingly I have a small waist too @thesunwillout and I am apparently morbidly obese!!!! Both my hands fit on the small of my back !!!

CloudsCoveredTheSky · 09/07/2020 15:02

5ft2 and 8 stone 3ish. I want to get down to 7 stone and a half but not that overly fussed if I don't.

Ginger1987 · 09/07/2020 15:03

5'3 and 10s 7.5, feel overweight but ive been around this weight for almost two years, no matter my diet or exercise or what I do, I consider this overweight - after being 8.5st - 9.2 st throughout my life.
However my body seems to have settled at this 'happy weight" and im starting to just accept it.

ohgoshreally · 09/07/2020 15:05

5,3 and 8 stone

irisnotadaff · 09/07/2020 15:05

5 ft 1’ and 8.11 stone size 10-12

heidipi · 09/07/2020 15:07

I'm 5'3", age 50, about 9st 10, would like to be a few lb lighter but really just need to exercise more. Am a fairly standard size 12, rarely attempt a 10!

therapydrama · 09/07/2020 15:11

I am 9 and a half stone after gaining weight. I don't look great this weight. I suit 8 stone.

I have 30 G boobs though and my measurements are 31-22-32 so very curvy.

CorianderLord · 09/07/2020 15:11

I'm 5'4 and weigh 10 stone too. I'm a size 8-10. Much of my weight is in my boobs and bum.

I do much prefer being around 8st 7lb and am once again counting bloody calories

CorianderLord · 09/07/2020 15:14

It's strange but I was a size 8 at 8 stone and still fit in the same clothes at 10 stone. A bit tighter but no unsightly bulges or anything. Odd

CorianderLord · 09/07/2020 15:14

@therapydrama jeez you sound like Jessica rabbit! 22 inch waist I wish!

molifly14 · 09/07/2020 15:16

9 stone 3 and I look chubby, I need to be shot 8.5 stone to look slim.

FionaJT · 09/07/2020 15:16

I'm 5ft 4, 9.5 stone is my 'normal' weight, which makes me a large size 10/small 12. Over 10 stone and I feel overweight, only ever go below 9 if I'm really unwell.

ShowOfHands · 09/07/2020 15:16

I'm 5ft 4" and around 8st 5lbs. I could stand to lose a few pounds. Over 9st doesn't look good on me. Different body types carry weight so differently. I have a v short abdomen (when pregnant, the midwife could see and feel the baby at 14 weeks as my uterus popped really early and couldn't go up really, only out). If I gain any weight, it's always on my stomach and easily shows. In comparison, I have slim arms and very defined arms/traps/lats and gain muscle very easily in my upper body. I gave up trying to make sense of it all years ago.

Ellewoods20 · 09/07/2020 15:21

5ft2 and I weigh 7 stone 4. I'm a 4-6 on top and a 6 on the bottom (except in Primark jeans where I'm an 8)

90bisodol · 09/07/2020 15:22

I'm somewhere around 5'2" - 5'3" and currently weigh just under 12 stone Sad
I'm working on losing weight though and my target weight is about 9st to 9st7lb.
Although I'm short, I'm quite large framed so anything under that weight would look haggard. I was quite obsessed with my weight when I was in my teens and weighed about 7 stone, when I look back at photos I just looked like skin and bones! So I'm aiming for a happy medium of 9, but really as long as I get below 10 at all I'll be pleased.

0hMy · 09/07/2020 15:28

9 stone 3 and size 8-10. DS is six weeks old so I haven’t exercised properly in ages. I was this weight before, but much more toned (and therefore had more muscle) and was a comfortable size 8.

LionKingOrTigerKing · 09/07/2020 15:32

@PopsicleHustler I was a size 8 before I had my two kids, I definitely want to lose some weight, I like being curvy, but I hate my stomach. I'm trying to start doing couch 2 5k again, and calorie counting to try and shift a couple of stone

Boopear · 09/07/2020 15:40

I'm 11st 10 (down from 12st 13 a year ago) but oddly really have no concept of myself as "fat". I am very very fit (and firm), which helps and have a very hourglass figure. Size 14.

I tend to flit between thinking about dieting some more and being happy with my weight - usually stick with the latter, as it seems maintainable with my current biscuit/exercise ratio Grin

WorraLiberty · 09/07/2020 15:41

5ft 3" and 8st 6lbs at the moment. I normally 'anchor' somewhere between 8st 3lbs and 8st 7lbs.

Size 8 or 10, depending on the shop.

Kindlethefourth · 09/07/2020 15:42

This just shows the difference between body shapes. Disagree with the posters who say 'x weighs more than me so how can they be a size smaller'. I am similar height and overweight currently but I got down to 10 stone 1 and wore size 10 clothes and sometime an 8 around the waist but I was doing lots of distance running and was muscly. Weighed 8 stone 4 in my twenties and was a 10-12 then. Huge boobs don't help but we are all so different. I have perfect blood pressure/cholesterol etc so it isn't all about what the scales say.

WorraLiberty · 09/07/2020 15:44

It also depends on the style of clothes.

Anything without a zip or buttons will be easier for anyone to wear.

coffeewithmilk · 09/07/2020 15:46

I'm 5'1" and currently 61kg
Happiest and feeling my best at 54kg.. have had a tough year with two pregnancy losses so far so hoping to get back to my happy weight soon

BurtsBeesKnees · 09/07/2020 15:49

I'm 5'3" and weigh 12 stone, but I'm fat.

I've lost just over a stone and I want to get back to 10 stone. That's when I felt a healthy weight and looked good. At 9st I started to look gaunt. I put weight in during pregnancy and not got rid of it since

chasegirl · 09/07/2020 15:56

I am 5ft 1 inch (in the morning Grin) I weigh 8st 5lbs. Am either a size 8 or 10 depending on the shop and style of clothing.
