I can’t believe I just wrote that thread title.

It doesn’t make sense to me. I loved her.

So very sorry for your loss 💐 what a beautiful story though that she never took her ring off, even once. Not many are so blessed to have such wonderful marriages ❤️

I'm so sorry. I lost my mother, too. It takes you to a whole other level, doesn't it? Like the world is less safe and more lonely.

Make sure you have people who support you. Grief is a roller-coaster, and don't let anyone tell you about the stages of grief. You don't end one and you're done with that emotion. In my experience, the feelings just keep happening over and over - anger, denial, acceptance, etc. - keep popping up at different times. It does get better with time, though, I promise.

Wishing you the best.

LunaNorth · 01/07/2020 20:45

There are lots of wonderful memories, that’s for sure.

The last time I saw her was through a glass wall at her carehome - they were doing socially distanced visit.

She gave me a cheeky wave as she wheeled herself off around the corner in search of Mars bars from the carehome shop.

I can’t believe it.

CaCaCaCaffeineBomb · 01/07/2020 20:47

You've lost both your parents in eight months, that's very tough. I'm so sorry. You must feel numb. I hope you have some real life support, someone who can hug you or hold your hand. Flowers

LunaNorth · 01/07/2020 20:47

I’m sorry, @Namechange23432.

It’s a very primal feeling. Like a part of me has slipped away.

Sorry to hear this. I lost my grandad two months ago (he brought me up) he was in his 80s. It's such a difficult time and you just need to be kind to yourself and remember all those lovely memories. She will be looking after you xxxx

GreekOddess · 01/07/2020 20:58

I'm so sorry Sad

LunaNorth · 01/07/2020 20:58

What can I tell you?

She was HUGELY talented. She could knit, sew, embroider, make the most elaborately decorated cakes - all self-taught. I mean, the most stunning three tier wedding cakes.

In her retirement she took up making doll’s houses. She made a wartime house and pub, which are going to be displayed in the carehome where she lived - her idea, for ‘the old ones’ to look back on.

And stylish? The last conversation I had with her - yesterday! - she had one of the caters tonging her hair.

She was so smart.
