I have just bought a Bissell crosswave, and it is amazing. I feel so organised with lovely clean floors.

What have you bought that has made a real difference to your life?

Shamelessly materialistic

My Emma pillow, now just need the mattress to go with it.

Mashed potato. I am never mashing potatoes again.

Really good kettle bbq.

I have been thinking about a robo vac for ages, I think thus may have convinced me.

Myshinynewname · 30/06/2020 21:52

This thread is costing me a fortune!

undercoveraessedai · 30/06/2020 21:58

Can anyone tell me about robot vacs and cheeky inquisitive cats? I'd love one but would be terrified it'd hoover up their tail or something Blush

Smartanimal · 30/06/2020 21:59

Bum bag. Great for phone, keys, money and tissues. Hands free!

HansBanans · 30/06/2020 22:02

Have been speaking to DH and definitely want to get one of these robot vacs that everyone is recommending in the near future. In the meantime I've added a flash mop to my Asda click and collect order Grin

LookToTreblesGoingTreblesGone · 30/06/2020 22:07

@BlueJava I got a Cefaly as well!! Absolutely worked wonders on my migraines, and I also got to love the scalp rippling feeling Grin
My daughter has it now for her migraines and is having great results!

LunaNorth · 30/06/2020 22:08

I loved our robovac until the morning we came downstairs to discover our new puppy had a) shat in the conservatory and b) set the robovac off.

Let’s just say it had turned into a muck spreader 😷

LookToTreblesGoingTreblesGone · 30/06/2020 22:09

I'd love a robovac, but my old house is just a warren of steps between each room, so not really practical.

wirelessprinter · 30/06/2020 22:20

Also about to order a Eufy!!

NoMoreMuchin · 30/06/2020 22:45

Garmin Forerunner 235 watch and Strava App (used together) have made such a difference to my life.

Its helped me run faster and longer, plus fantastic support from other runners, and I can have a good old nosey at where they are running and how fast too

Ludways · 30/06/2020 23:11

I bought a hammock at the start of lockdown and I love it, i got the biggest I could find and I'll can just sprawl in it. It also gets my teenagers into the garden.

I love the plug tower in my kitchen, it just slides down when not in use. I also have an appliance garage where all my appliances are shut away and I don't have anything out on my surfaces.

My contact lens prescription, I've worn glasses for about 10 years but now I can see without them always on my face!

My shobottle, I have several of them now as I just love all the colours and shapes, lol

This thread is fabulous, I've never even thought of using a flash mop on my tiles and shower, I'm excited to clean them now... that is very unlike me!

kellyann4 · 30/06/2020 23:16

@Cluckycluck MITCHUM YES! This is the ONLY deodorant that I've found works. It is god's gift. It will change anyone's life.

My teen years would have been so much more comfortable if only I'd known!

louderthan1 · 30/06/2020 23:25

MacBook Air
Le Creuset casserole (30th birthday pressie)
Bean to cup coffee machine. Bought it from a friend and it's so amazing
Decent mattress (again bought from a friend)

In lockdown it's been a yoga mat

TitsalinaBumSquash · 30/06/2020 23:29

We have a Roomba (Brian Mk2) Original Brian was a god of housework but he died of old age and new Brian is a very naughty robot hoover who is as eat with Dyson air purifier (Danny) and has eaten his way through his power lead and buggered off with his remote a few times, he's also had a go at Stevie (The TV) but luckily got stuck rather than brutalising his power cord too.

I have just booked my laser eye surgery for 3 weeks time so I'm hoping that will be money well spent, my glasses are driving me nuts!

My most useful purchase is one I bought out of desperation for lockdown which is my Apple AirPods, I cannot believe how much happiness they bring me because the cancel out all sound. It's been a game changer for snoring DH and hyper children.

Kitchen wise it has to be the MagiMix (Martin) because I have knackered joints that are weak and swollen and painful and Martin chops anything, as well as blending, whisking etc etc etc. He's a real work horse, 8 years going strong and used every day.

totallyyesno · 01/07/2020 08:53

Just thought of another one! Revitive circulation booster. Don't know if there is any real science behind it but I have my feet on it while I work at my desk and it makes my legs feel less achy and tired. It's been a godsend in lockdown when I have been teaching online.

DottyDotAgain · 01/07/2020 12:29

My Eufy arrived yesterday and I'm in love with her already Grin . I've programmed her to do a floor clean at 9pm every night and honestly, seeing our actually clean floors after her first go round yesterday was just amazing...!

PuddleglumtheMarshWiggle · 01/07/2020 13:58

Near the start of lockdown I subscribed to an Oddbox delivery. I'm now eating more veg than ever before, am trying out new recipes (red onion chutney! Delish!) and have lost 8 pounds.
Hope it is a lifetime change

Impatientwino · 01/07/2020 18:40

Just googled Eufy and now I want one!

Laughed at this amazon review! Grin

@undercoveraessedai

2 cats, a dog and Eufy robot vac (aka Gufy) here.

Pre-history: Female cat used to be terrified of Henry The Hoover and hide, preferably somewhere high. Male cat didn't really care, but would get out of the way, when approached; he liked to watch me hoover.

Now (Gufy reign): Female cat stays on the floor and watches Gufy at the safe distance of aprox 1 metre. Male cat watches it from our bed. When Gufy leaves, he doesn't care. A dog likes to turn it on himself (button is on top) and likes to follow it, sometimes jump in front of it so it will change direction.

Eufy robot vac has sensors and bumpers around the whole body, it is also low, so I doubt it will suck in cat's tail (thinner things like phone charger, yes). It is small yet powerful enough to hoover short/medium pile rugs. It is one of the best things I ever bought!! I have not hoovered in months and floors are hair free!!

When both cats and a dog hear Gufy's beep (at the start of a job), cats arrive and sit on large scratching post and watch how dog is dancing/following around it.

sashh · 02/07/2020 08:06

My mattress. It cost £600 and has a top layer of latex. I have arthritis and this makes a huge difference.

FrugiFan · 02/07/2020 09:03

This thread should be sponsored by eufy, I just bought one too!

undercoveraessedai · 02/07/2020 09:40

@LaughingDonkey thank you! I'm very tempted...

liverpoolnana · 02/07/2020 14:15

I see someone has mentioned a Revitive circulation booster. I am so tempted by the adverts!
Has anyone else bought one and how would they rate it?

Destinysdaughter · 02/07/2020 16:11

My Eufy arrived today! So excited to try it out. Just have to tidy up first....Grin

Zisforstripyoss · 02/07/2020 16:21

Examples from both ends of the spectrum from me:

£2.99 toast tongs from lakeland. So simple, but so lifechanging.

Dyson cordless hoover - love love love it.
