I have just bought a Bissell crosswave, and it is amazing. I feel so organised with lovely clean floors.

What have you bought that has made a real difference to your life?

Shamelessly materialistic

Talking of toast, my toaster has toast "holders" that you lift out when it's done and you can use it for holding a toasted sandwich.

peaceanddove · 02/07/2020 17:06

A hot styling brush. I used to be rubbish at blow-drying my hair with a hair dryer and separate brush, but now my hair always looks good.

Expensive serving dishes from Denby in plain white. I love them, they're practical and stylish and always make the food look good.

A regular, monthly pedicure so I always have soft, pretty feet that are sandal ready.

InsideOutChickenParm · 02/07/2020 17:09

An Emma mattress. It's so comfy!

EinsteinaGogo · 02/07/2020 18:01

A Hoom sleep-earphones headband.

About £50 but now I can snooze all night listening to TV or music and my husband can snore away without being disturbed.

HansBanans · 02/07/2020 18:42

@Zisforstripyoss I've never hoovered so much in my life until we got our dyson cordless vacuum. It's amazing isn't it! No more wires, yay!

YaasssQueen · 02/07/2020 19:21

A key rack. So bloody simple but now I never have the last minute faff of trying to find my keys when I'm about to leave the house, it has honestly made my life so much simpler!

TreacherousPissFlap · 02/07/2020 20:03

Chillis bottle, as mentioned numerous times previously.
AirPods, would have bought them much earlier if I'd realised how utterly life changing they were.
Cordless vacuum, though I do lust after a robovac (I would name it "The Dogs of War" so I could command Alexa to "unleash the dogs of war". DH maintains this is not an appropriate reason to spunk £400 on one though)

Graphista · 02/07/2020 22:13

you can use it for holding a toasted sandwich

Oh that's reminded me!!
Toastabags!

Means you can not only do toasted sandwiches in the toaster but TONS of other things. I use them for heating up pasties, garlic bread, veggie fingers (veggie versions of fish fingers) cheap and easy to use

underneaththeash · 02/07/2020 22:20

Long Handled Dyson. Hoops for netting for our cabbages, chickens - I absolutely adore our chickens and will really miss them when we go in holiday.

EinsteinaGogo · 02/07/2020 23:22

Can anyone describe why AirPods are so life changing pls?

How do they differ (enormously) from other wireless earphones? I want to be convinced!!

bec656 · 02/07/2020 23:49

Loving all the Eufy buys and the names, I've had mine about 9 months now, Eric is superb. Today I changed the voice to British Butler, totally recommend testing it out, I've been laughing all morning at him talking

Ludways · 03/07/2020 00:21

I've bought a Eufy and a butter mixerer thing today, you lot are expensive!!

Also, I bought a sandwich toaster/waffle maker/ panini press at the start of lockdown, it's been used pretty much every day by someone in the house, fabulous.

DopamineHits · 03/07/2020 00:29

Where have all these Eufy's come from? Grin

Last time I saw talk of robot vacs here it was all about the Roomba. What happened, did the Roomba fall out of favour, or is the Eufy cheaper?

YorkieTheRabbit · 03/07/2020 23:06

Our two dogs, they are 8 & 12, love them to bits Smile
Aga, kitchen is always cosy
Greenhouse,
Bose Bluetooth headphones, really comfy, I just can’t get on with in ear ones

Shouldbedoing · 03/07/2020 23:12

Some Lakeland wooden tongs for safely removing toast from the toaster - they have a magnet for stickiing them to the side of the toaster so they're always right there when you need them.
A tiny flat grater for doing small amounts. So handy.

TheHighestSardine · 03/07/2020 23:18

The dishwasher is the big one. I've always had computers so that hasn't changed my life :)

amusedtodeath1 · 03/07/2020 23:40

I just ordered a Eufy too,. I knew I shouldn't have opened this thread.Blush

TumbledGlass · 04/07/2020 10:01

Anything cordless then 😀

We bought a GTech cordless lawnmower recently, it's so much easier than plugging in extensions and having to flip the cable back and forth when mowing.

KeepingPlain · 04/07/2020 10:13

My car. Its an older car, but I picked it because of its reliability, ease of fixing it and the fact it will no doubt outlive a lot of new cars. Plus I love driving it, its fun but safe too.

I do love my cordless hoover too though, makes cleaning up after my pets so much easier. Why must they leave hair everywhere?! 😂

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 04/07/2020 11:56

A garlic rocker that comes with a silicone tube – you roll the garlic in the tube and the skin comes off! I honestly think I’ve saved hours of peeling and chopping garlic (I put it in everything ha). It was only a tenner but I feel smug every time I use it. This is after years of using rubbish garlic crushers too.

Now I want a robot vacuum AND a cordless vac for the stairs.

HalloumiChips · 04/07/2020 12:44

I spent a lot of time deciding on a cordless vac. I went with shark in the end. It has a double battery, so I can do the whole house. It also has a suction booster which is handy for the stairs. And it folds in half Grin

Has been slightly neglected since Barry the Bissell arrived though.

Real sheepskin slipper boots. Not so much in July but genuinely improve my life immeasurably in the winter.

CupcakesK · 04/07/2020 12:54

A countertop chopping board from Ikea. Large surface area with a lip so it hooks over counter and doesn’t move. It gets left out, so easy to just start prepping. The bonus is, it goes over the gas hobs too, turning them into workable surface - fantastic when I had a tiny kitchen.

Was about £8 6/7 years ago and still much loved. I should probably get another in case they discontinue it!

onetwothreeadventure · 04/07/2020 12:57

Another vote for the Eufy robot vac - my DH was banging on about it for months and I thought he was being ridiculous. Totally life changing, especially with 2 toddlers!

UltimateWednesday · 04/07/2020 13:07

Ok, tell me about this Eufy? Will it do the whole downstairs for me or do I have to set it for one room at a time? I have small thresholds between rooms.
