I have just bought a Bissell crosswave, and it is amazing. I feel so organised with lovely clean floors.

What have you bought that has made a real difference to your life?

Shamelessly materialistic

I’ve just ordered a eufy robovac based on this thread Grin. I’m looking forward to the life changing rewards!

TrickyD · 08/08/2020 15:56

Mine’s just been delivered! I will be unpacking it before DH gets at it and loses bits.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 08/08/2020 16:52

The multi drawers. I bought two floor standing metal multi drawer workshop chests and spray painted them, inside and out. Now, all of those small annoying things are stored tidily…I have some smaller spice chests with ceramic drawers for fuses, batteries, picture hooks, safety pins, etc.

I keep eyeing these up for that purpose. If it wouldn't be intrusive, could you post a picture or so so that I can show it to my household and convince them it would be helpful?

Thecobwebsarewinning · 08/08/2020 17:01

I love lots of things. My iPad, AirPods, Robovac, dishwasher etc. But right now, right this minute I don’t love anything as much as I love my fan.

CandidaAlbicans2 · 08/08/2020 17:48

Vibrator.
I could never get myself off with my hands, so gave up with masturbation and just relied on always having a BF. It wasn't until I was in a relationship with someone who worked abroad half the time that I decided I needed so do something about it. So I bought some toys and WOW! Shock I then realised that much as I had always loved sex I'd never actually had an orgasm! Now I can have one whenever I want and it's been life-changing Grin

A house in a new build cul-de-sac with other children for DS to play out with.

Purplecatshopaholic · 08/08/2020 18:57

Clairol root touch up - a saviour in these lockdown times. A belt with a little pouch attached - great for phone etc when taking the dog out without the need for a handbag (a what...?) My boy friend (ok, I didnt buy him, but he has changed my life, lol, after a shit divorce!)

Cattermole · 08/08/2020 19:03

A motor home.
A washing machine (my dad refused to allow my mum to have one so I grew up washing my clothes in the bath.)

And me Tankie, who is the first proper "rescue" cat we've had and who rewards the amount we spent on him - adoption fees and donations to his not inconsiderable vet bills before we adopted him: massive injuries that he was not expected to survive. He is a massive asshole and a thug and every day he is so bloody grateful for having a home that it makes you humble.

I got an allotment, £3 a week, it's made life so much nicer. I live in a tiny flat so now the toddler and dog have somewhere to play every day. I've got fruit and veg and flowers and it's beautiful.

Timestwo · 08/08/2020 19:21

Cardholder sticker for the back of my phone. About £7. Never lost my card since (which I used to do quarterly!)

One for the weather- Lanacane Anti Chafing Gel . I have been out walking today and over the weekend and have been extremely hot and sweaty but not a hint of chub rub misery. It is a miracle worker, especially with the amount of chub I have to rub at the moment.

Slubberdegullion · 10/08/2020 20:20

My Labrador
A small french canvas tent many years ago. Still going strong and have had so many wonderful family holidays in it. Totally life changing.

belvoirbeaver · 10/08/2020 20:21

Cake tin collars. Since I bought them every single cake has a perfectly flat top so they're simple to ice instead of the domed things I had before.

I keep eyeing those up.

And something I'll never buy now the price has gone well and truly stratospheric but I've longed for an Agbay cake layer cutter for years Blush

belvoirbeaver · 10/08/2020 20:32

Embarrassingadmissions you wouldn't regret the cake collars. They're brilliant. Now I want a cake leveller! 😭

RUOKHon · 10/08/2020 20:38

Bifold doors. They’ve completely changed the feel of the house. It seems so much bigger.

Also, bespoke wardrobes.

BringPizza · 10/08/2020 20:41

My dog.
A reliable car.
Cordless hoover.
Piano.

FizzyPink · 10/08/2020 22:06

@belvoirbeaver can you link to your cake tin collars? I want to do a fancy 3 tier thing for DPs birthday next month but so more all my practice runs have been slightly disastrous Blush

@EatsShootsAndRuns

*I don't know what it's called because we just call it the dibber thing but it's for rubbing in butter when you make pastry and scones. Basically about 5 wires in an oval attached to a handle across the top*

I don't know what it's called either but I have one for when my fingers cramp up and I can't make the right motion for rubbing butter into flour. Similar principle to a potato masher. Means I can still make pastry and suchlike. Smile

My mum had one of these. I remember it from the 60s and it might still be buried somewhere in one of the cupboards.
PamDenick · 10/08/2020 23:10

Not the weather to think about it but I love going to bed in winter with the electric blanket...

zafferana · 13/08/2020 16:22

  • Our cat - well she was a rescue, so not technically 'bought', but she is FAB and I can't imagine ever not having a cat now!
  • Hollywood Browzer - removes any kind of unwanted hair and exfoliates at the same time. An absolute bargain at £9 and much cheaper and less hassle than booking an appointment for dermaplaning.

I've bought some of the Lakeland shower cleaning pads and a silicone baking tray liner based on this thread Smile

zafferana · 13/08/2020 16:22
