At today's briefing, definitely not himself.

@mbosnz

I don't call him Boris. I call him many things, but not Boris. . .
My name for him is Bodge Job
randomer · 17/06/2020 08:51

I feel so much better knowing Johnstone has scraggy hair just like me.

The man is ill, mentally ill. The result of a dysfunctional childhood, immoral parents and a Lord of the Flies education.

Roussette · 17/06/2020 08:51

I know the family slightly (although not Boris). He's not a big drinker

With all due respect, you really wouldn't know that as fact. Who knows what goes on every night in No. 10. He could be downing a bottle of red and everyone be unaware of that. You vaguely know the family, that's it.

BluebonicPlague · 17/06/2020 08:55

I was so surprised to see him today, I thought it was Wednesday

He prolly thought it was Wednesday. Shock

I wish people would stop making excuses for him.
Never mind the night feeds which I very much doubt he's administering. He is failing the entire country. His dithering leads to the worst of all worlds: maximum infection rate, maximum economic damage.

And zero antennae for public opinion (cf Marcus Rashford)

Mumoblue · 17/06/2020 08:57

@BubonicPlague

I think even that is giving him too much credit. It's not that he doesn't know what the public wants. It's that he doesn't care, and expects the rabble to go along with whatever he decides. That's why he keeps U turning when the peasants make a big fuss.

janet1267 · 17/06/2020 09:06

Roussette, that's true. I don't know and you could well be right. I've heard things about him, but never that he's a big drinker. It doesn't mean he isn't.

randomer · 17/06/2020 09:11

Can you imagine if it was a woman....a plain looking, smartly dressed, phenomenally intelligent, capable and empathic leader. Can you imagine the stick she'd get for untidy hair, ill fitting suits and pen on her hands!!

Of course, we are not shallow fools who need some sort of mannequin for a PM but basic , low key prefessional dress will do.

Alsohuman · 17/06/2020 09:17

I do wish people would stop distracting from his piss poor performance with all these criticisms of his appearance. I absolutely don’t care. I just want someone competent, intelligent and grown up in charge. If that someone spent their life in joggers and trainers it really wouldn’t bother me.

As far as his hair’s concerned, he can’t win. If he had it cut the criticism would be endless about that too.

Roussette · 17/06/2020 09:20

janet1267 it's all unknown isn't it. Nothing would surprise me about Boris!

I honestly think he is just useless at this. Far far more useless than I ever thought he would be, because there's no doubting he is an intelligent man.

It's leadership he's lacking. All those U turns makes the Govt look weak and uncordinated. Everything they do seems to be reactive and not proactive, it's all broken promises, change of policy at the last minute, lies, subterfuge, smoke and mirrors.

I don't believe a thing Bojo says, not a thing.

FenellaMaxwell · 17/06/2020 09:26

He looks as shambolic on the outside as he is on the inside really. Fundamentally, a man I wouldn’t trust to remember to feed my cat if I went on holiday is running the country through the biggest global pandemic in over 100 years. I don’t understand why people aren’t more worried!

janet1267 · 17/06/2020 09:28

Roussette I agree with every word you say. I expected better - the lack of leadership is shocking. I loathed the way David Cameron would change direction on a whim depending on which way the wind was blowing. It was all about popularity rather than having strong direction and policies and sticking to them.

We need a stronger government and a better leader.

Alsohuman · 17/06/2020 09:30

This is so true. I expected him to be bad but he’s exceeded my expectations by a huge margin. I thought the shambling, incoherent bluster was an act but it appears not to be. How long can he last when his own backbenchers, many of whom only got elected because of him, are turning on him?

PrincessConsuelaVaginaHammock · 17/06/2020 09:33

He's just not very good, I agree. Been found wanting. The difficulty for the parliamentary party is that as things stand, the obvious next in line is Gove, who is unelectable.

Rhine · 17/06/2020 09:35

He’s an alcoholic, that’s what’s the matter with him. That’s why he nearly died of Covid. His underlying health issue is that he’s an overweight pisshead,

Alleged of course...

GorgeousBeast · 17/06/2020 09:39

He could get Carrie to cut his hair, it couldnt look any worse!Grin

DenboraBidaiari · 17/06/2020 09:42

^I don't give a toss what his hair looks like. I'd just like him to stop being a lazy, lying, incompetent, corrupt twat^

Yes. Agreed.

As to hair cuts, though. A quick trim with the kitchen scissors like most people are doing, would be ok. DH ordered some hair clippers at the start of lockdown and has been cutting his own hair & beard. I also let him cut mine (scary, but it looks fine Grin).

Helmetbymidnight · 17/06/2020 09:45

i'd look ill if i'd led the country to 60000 dead and was going to inflict a ruinous no deal brexit on us.

fucking incompetent arsehole.

I agree. And afterwards he'll just walk away, into the sunset, back to his life of privilege. Without a care in the world. And there'll still be parts of England that call him Boris, like he's their friend.
randomer · 17/06/2020 09:52

I don't massively care what he looks like. Generally , in society we have certain uniforms and standards for certain roles. It would show a modicum of respect if the leader of the nation could adhere to these.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 17/06/2020 09:54

'If he is a barely functioning alcoholic (as was my late DF) I wouldn't be surprised if he had no idea whether it was Tuesday, Wednesday or any other day hmm'

People have a right to an opinion but slurs like this are low and pathetic. Criticise his actions if you want, don't make shit up.

I'm just glad they got a majority, imagine Corbyn and Abbott trying to string a sentence together in a global emergency.

DenboraBidaiari · 17/06/2020 10:01

Going back to when we were told just to wash our hands to the tune of Happy Birthday (remember that, before all the deaths? Angry), I realised you could fit "Boris Johnson's a cunt" to the tune. Brings a new kind of pleasure to washing my hands.

No idea how he will be able to wash his hands of all the blood he has on them. I hope memories are long enough to stretch to the next election 😠

Oh and I find it easier to say "Boris" with an angry snarl. He's no friend of mine. Never voted for the Tory bastards. Never will.

Roussette · 17/06/2020 10:02

I think his shambolic appearance shows total disrespect to the office he holds. Of course Carrie could've cut his hair. I cut my DHs, OK it's not perfect, it's chopped at a bit, but overall no one would really notice.

And his hair, being like a straggly mess, it would be easy for her to do. He just does not care. Not one bit.

We're on the way to the world laughing at us, if they aren't already When he was made Foreign Sec, they were agog that we were putting this moron into this position.. now he runs the country and we're fools.

Roussette · 17/06/2020 10:04

Whether he drinks too much or not, the one thing I think that can't be denied is...
He is lazy.

Many old bosses of his have said this, it's out there, it has followed him round, he is work shy and lazy.

SabrinaThwaite · 17/06/2020 10:10

When he was made Foreign Sec, they were agog that we were putting this moron into this position..

Remember Angela Eagle’s reaction?

She wasn’t wrong ...

And I thought this thread was doing so well. Astonished it took 11 pages for this irrelevant bollocks to emerge.
