At today's briefing, definitely not himself.

Absolutely, maybe if you can't or won't -acknowledge all- (allegedly) see your children. Cutting the hair out of your eyes would rectify that.

midsomermurderess · 17/06/2020 00:36

He has a great big pink bald patch. He wants to keep that covered.

FliesandPies · 17/06/2020 00:54

He has a great big pink bald patch

That's his face.

Apparently there's a meeting of 'the influential 1922 Committee' tomorrow to discuss their unhappiness with Johnson and Cummings...

SUBisYodrethwhenLarping · 17/06/2020 00:58

*There was something wrong with his left hand this afternoon

Either he hadn't washed the ink off his thumb and index finger

Or some really weird marks on them*

If it was black ink - why hadn't he washed his hands?

It was there from when he first came out so not as a result of the pen from the podium notes etc

Mumratheevergiving · 17/06/2020 01:07

SUB - well that is a mystery as we've heard it from the horses mouth that Boris is dead keen on hand washing! Maybe Dom had written him a little message on his hand before he sent him out to play?

peppapigisscottish · 17/06/2020 06:02

Hard not to feel for him if you've got a heart. His dream job has turned into a nightmare and he's been ill.

Then he should have been more careful what he wished for.

peppapigisscottish · 17/06/2020 06:03

Most PM's look knackered after a few months in the job. Although David Cameron looked scarily young for years. 
That's because he was made of plasticine, like Morph.

That's below the belt, what has morph ever done to deserve that disgraceful slur ?

I think the Tories would be dumping him now if it wasn't for Brexit.
PrincessConsuelaVaginaHammock · 17/06/2020 07:12

He's an easy target because he's incompetent and amoral. Those things do tend to mean anyone so minded can take a lot of pot shots.

The80sweregreat · 17/06/2020 07:36

The pen may have leaked.
I feel so sorry for the young in all this not Boris and co. They are rich enough to absorb all the fall out from the last ten years of banking crashes and pandemics and high house prices etc etc but many young people starting out have been totally shafted and will be for years. Their future isn't looking great.
Not to mention the ones that were flooded out back in Feb and lost everything too. Now this on top.

Even if Boris Johnson is still recovering he can afford to have the best help and advice about his health. Many people can't even see their own GP at the moment, not easily anyway.
The fact that one man ( who happens to be a footballer ) can change a policy on food vouchers for school children speaks volumes here. It seems they have to be shamed into helping the poorest in society when they need it most.
The government have done a few good things to help people ; I'm not a complete basher of everything and the furlough scheme may have saved many jobs , but with other things it's not gone that well and the school situation still needs sorting out as well. It is grim all round.

SUBisYodrethwhenLarping · 17/06/2020 08:04

Yes totally agree his pen "might" have leaked but in multiple lines rather than a blot HmmHmmHmm

It looked like someone had drawn lines on his thumb in black ink

If you look at the broadcast again and look around 17.22 you can see his hands.

I took photo of it to show DH

They were like it when he came out so it was not a result of his wafting around his pen while at podium

Why hadn't he washed his hands?

If his pen had leaked before coming out, wouldn't you expect him to wash his hands?

Or is it a skin condition that causes black lines or multiple paper cuts in black lines?

SUBisYodrethwhenLarping · 17/06/2020 08:07

Totally agree with you about Marcus getting them to U turn.

Just by exposing them as being completely out of touch with British families and their children

jasjas1973 · 17/06/2020 08:07

He is obese, pasty, looks like a walking heart attack.

Johnson needs to look at his diet, cut out the booze and do some exercise.

Roussette · 17/06/2020 08:07

So, those of you who criticise Boris, what would you do/have done?

Not fuck off to the Caribbean for 2 weeks over Christmas. Then... when the pandemic crisis was becoming absolutely crucial, spend two weeks at Chequers negotiating his divorce settlement so that he could announce he was having another baby with the woman he'd been having an affair with.

Then not go round shaking COVID patients hands so that he caught it and was laid low for god knows how long and the Ministers did not do what they were supposed to do.

I isolated two whole weeks before the Government advised us to. Tickets for Cheltenham? Yep, not going, knew it was going to be like a petri dish of infection. Am I right.... yes. Why did it happen? Because Dodi whatshername who is now supposed to be running track and trace, is on the board of the Jockey Club and applied pressure for it to happen. And that football game with all the fans coming from Madrid was absolutely criminal.

I actually think by not having it cut he’s showing a tiny bit of solidarity with everyone
Hahaha... sorry but that made me laugh! His hair has always been a complete and utter bloody mess. He does not care what he looks like covid or no covid. He needs to shape up and dress like a PM, not some fat unfit idiot. Ditto Cummings. He dresses in old jeans hanging round his arse, bobby t shirts and a woolly hat. These two are treating us like complete fools.

I may not have liked Theresa May but she dressed according to the office and showed her position some respect.

Casino218 · 17/06/2020 08:08

Thank you Covid. You've achieved what the great British electorate failed to do.

Roussette · 17/06/2020 08:10

What... kill us off?

category12 · 17/06/2020 08:11

Theresa would have been crucified for looking a hundredth as dishevelled as he does regularly. There's a massive sexist double standard.

PrincessConsuelaVaginaHammock · 17/06/2020 08:16

@category12

Of course there is. And there's a class related one too, because a male politician from more humble origins wouldn't be able to attain high office looking like that either.
HildaTablet · 17/06/2020 08:27

As noted upthread by PPs, Johnson deliberately turns his hair into a bird's nest. It's been noted by eg TV hairdressers/make-up people who, after getting him ready for going on-air, have witnessed him tousling it. Perhaps the fool thinks it makes him relatable or something.

More to the point: he's back up to his trick of not hosting Cobra committee meetings. There hasn't been one for a month, apparently.

Did anyone see his 'performance' at the liaison committee a few weeks ago? It was online, on Parliament TV. He was an utter disgrace. The man can barely string two words together when he's reading from a script, let alone extempore. And this is the much-touted classicist and mega-brain? God help us all.

derxa · 17/06/2020 08:30

.

Roussette · 17/06/2020 08:33

Yes, I watched him at the Liaison meeting. He treated it with contempt. And warned he was 'too busy' to probably do another one.

And he had Cummings sat to his right, he glanced over every now and again.

BoJo is a useless waste of space and needs to go. He's not up to the job he has coveted all his life.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/06/2020 08:40

Do some people really think that if Boris hadn't been ill, the situation would have been better handled? That he'd have provided competent and efficient direction?

Thud. was

That was my jaw hitting the floor.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 17/06/2020 08:41

Rogue 'was' there.

janet1267 · 17/06/2020 08:44

I know the family slightly (although not Boris). He's not a big drinker.

Mumoblue · 17/06/2020 08:48

Can't believe people actually have sympathy for that talking scrotum.

It was his dream job? Boo hoo. He's clearly shown he cant fucking do it, so he should be out. Just because he's a spoilt rich boy with a dream doesn't mean he deserves to have it come true at the expense of 40,000 lives.
