How many people have ms and md pushed over the edge In Scotland and wales
How many people have died needlessly

I honestly think they need to be held accountable .

Good to hear about IKEA, I'm childfree Friday afternoon so I might have a trip out and hope I don't have to queue for too long.

Won't be quite like the childfree IKEA trip I had planned back in April but needs must.

BogRollBOGOF · 15/06/2020 17:58

Driving, I didn't want to mention personalities but that was the same observation I made. Wink

Willow2017 · 15/06/2020 18:02

Ok kids made themselves very late lunches i had a sarnie after work so not rushing to cook anything. Am in pjs already and wine in hand. Best stay away from those 2 threads now🤔🤔

I’d be really careful with the poster who thinks because they can’t go out no one should go out. I know she’s an argumentative pita but I also think she’s in a very very dark place.

Dowser · 15/06/2020 18:04

Thats playing right into the stazis hands isnt it? This country is fecked. 1984 wasnt a novel it was a prediction.

Also..brave new world..didn’t they have newspeak 😱

AnxiousElephant77 · 15/06/2020 18:06

I agree with whoever said that lockdown has levelled the playing field and some people have enjoyed that.

Teateaandmoretea · 15/06/2020 18:06

There is a lot of talk about the lingering effects of the virus. I have every sympathy with people who are suffering with post viral effects for weeks after getting ill even without being in hospital, and I think they should be supported. But they are the minority and how can they be supported if there is no tax revenue? That's what I'm just not getting.

The thing is covid is a really nasty virus so it’s hardly surprising that it leaves some people with horrid after effects. I had a cold last year that it took me 6 weeks to properly get over.

But the point is that there isn’t anything we can actually do about it is there? As I’ve always said throughout I really don’t want to get covid it sounds vile, but the risk needs to be balanced against cowering in fear for the rest of our lives.

Glandular fever leaves horrible lasting effects in some people, it ruined my cousin’s life after he caught it at uni. But people don’t worry about that.

Orangeblossom78 · 15/06/2020 18:09

In RL the shielding people I know are not dementors. They would never want others to stay home for them. They make their own decisions as it is guidance. Go for dog walks, have visits in the garden. They miss swimming and going on holiday like the rest of us. I know it is very hard though

BarkandCheese · 15/06/2020 18:10

I had glandular fever a couple of years ago, much everyone’s amusement I picked it up in Las Vegas. It took me four months to get fully better. Fortunately I wasn’t working at the time, I don’t know how I would have managed or how much time I’d have had off if I was.

you might be surprised. I quite enjoyed myself at the weekend. I'm quite liking this giving everybody around you space malarkey- everybody is a lot more respectful. It was incredibly well organised, with a gazillion staff in high vis telling you where to go, there was even someone calling the lift for you (presumably to control how many people got in it, but still....). And I'm not going to complain about all the trolleys being sanitised. It was all very chilled, and really not that different to pre-covid, except that it was a lot less of a scrum, and the restaurant wasn't open.

I had it at 18. I was in bed for weeks. I have lasting liver damage. I have never felt so poorly in my life. However we don't isolate for it!
Orangeblossom78 · 15/06/2020 18:23

I have had sepsis and took ages to recover from that, got shingles with the recovery which was pretty horrible.

DisobedientHamster · 15/06/2020 18:28

My social media is chockablock with Dementors and those shaming others for going to shops. It's hilarious. 'Risking your life for a £2 tshirt'. Gees, I've risked my life for a shag with a stranger and cannabis, £2 tshirt is a pisstake by comparison.

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 15/06/2020 18:32

I agree, it makes me sick. Judgy arseholes. If you dont want to go shopping then dont go! It really is THAT simple. If others want to go and its allowed (which is is!) then thats THEIR business. I'm glad that some people are supporting our economy right now and the shop dementors can sit and swivel as far as I'm concerned.

Grin yeah I’ve been in far riskier situations in my life, usually while drunk!

I had sepsis too. Intensive care for a week. Took me months to recover from properly. I got it as a result of mastitis... we don’t tell everyone to stop breastfeeding as it might kill them.

I'd be a lot more sympathetic if I thought she wanted to get out of it. She's crabpot mentality personified and has been for a long time.

I'd forgotten the word "me-rail" but have just been reminded of it.

Librarybooksandacoconut · 15/06/2020 18:51

Apparently Edinburgh ‘did lockdown the best’ out of any city in the U.K. I’m not sure that having a city economically inactive for 3 months is being the best at anything 😕

I’m feeling quite teary tonight - dangerous sex & drugs would probably cheer me right up but the sleazing hours (9-3) have been robbed from me.

My NDN is possibly an anti-dementor as she’s been having daily get-together a since day 1. I actually DGAF, but does it have to be so loud? I thought I was being paranoid about the noise until the other side cracked last week and started yelling YOU FUCKING CUNT! 😂

HesterShaw1 · 15/06/2020 18:55

Love the fact that someone had a pop at 'dementors' and that they've got their own threads and shouldn't be on that one. They quite clearly meant 'anti demontor' but got it wrong and now none of the responses make any sense!

Oh dear, I might be partly responsible for the ensuing confusion, as I was the first to bite! I didn't notice the lack of "anti" before "dementor" even though it was clearly this thread she was talking about Grin

Oh well.

HesterShaw1 · 15/06/2020 18:57

What will they do if there's a second wave? Would they just not treat patients?

I don't know, I don't run France.

This might be my favourite quote today!

Is this the most insane day on MN so far of this whole sorry mess?

Ibake · 15/06/2020 19:00

I wouldn't worry @hestershaw, having them confused is better for the rest of us!
