I'm a real skinny minnie through no choice of my own. In fact I'd quite like some boobs and a bit of roundness. However even I have gained about 7 pounds and am filling my very modest sized bra and bulging a bit over jeans. The boyf is running to fat.

Yesterday we vowed to exercise as much as we can as soon as the leisure centre opens. Then drove to McDonald's 🙄

SeaOtterFluff · 13/06/2020 23:20

Brilliant title. I fancy chips and curry sauce now...
I went for a walk and went past the skate park in town this afternoon. It was open and full of children on scooters and teenagers on skateboards. Not a mask or "KEEP 2 METRES APART" sign in sight. It made my day! They were all so normal.

NannyPhlegm · 13/06/2020 23:21

I wonder if I can join in!

I want to live vicariously through you English shoppers. Looking forward to lots of descriptions! It'll be like phone sex, but with non essential goods haha

Allflightscancelled · 13/06/2020 23:28

Hi Nanny! If you want non essential shopping, today I have bought vodka, beer, wine and martini for dd's murderous party, solar powered lights, dozens of random snacks, logs for a fire pit , a tent liner and a large bag of ice cubes. Roll on Monday (even though job losses mean money is tight. I'm off to Waterstones to lick books)

rosettesforjill · 13/06/2020 23:30

Checking in!

I have felt comforted by the pictures of day to day life during the Spanish flu pandemic circulating on social media. Seems like these times are, in fact, entirely precedented - only just out of living memory. We will be back to normal soon!

justasking111 · 13/06/2020 23:30

I`m with @NannyPhlegm I want to drool over your shopping expeditions you lucky englanders Grin

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 13/06/2020 23:37

@MinnieMountain nothing at the moment. All children should be allowed to step inside a school at some point before the summer holidays start a week late. What that means in practice is very variable and my dd’s school is still working on it. No announcement for after that or whether summer clubs etc will run.

Ibake · 13/06/2020 23:38

I'm here. He's watching Jackie fucking Chan so suspect there's no
DTD tonight as I'm likely to pass out soon. Maybe I'll just chat shit with you lot until whatever shite, interchangeable JC movie (Rush hour?) is over?

Yes! Me too! I'm hoping all this craziness will blow over. We can hope eh?
HesterShaw1 · 13/06/2020 23:41

Chuckling like mad at licking books and these times being in fact entirely precedented.

Ibake · 13/06/2020 23:43

Also he was v pissed off with me earlier as I was driving so he needed to place the chippy order and my instructions were v specific. Chips, in a tray, gravy on top and then the fish on top of that (Lancashire lass even though am now posh Cheshire bird). They were the best frigging chips I'd eaten in years.

MinesaPinot · 13/06/2020 23:47

Chips, chips ,chips!

Actually we've had quite a bit of wine today, and on the basis we're still hoping we might get to Greece this year I think the diet might have to begin Monday.

Allflightscancelled · 13/06/2020 23:54

Oh diet. Yeah bugger me too. Going to Dorset by hook or by crook and so, as I know a few people locally, I should have a bit of self respect and sort myself out🤐

bakingcupcakes · 14/06/2020 00:00

@NannyPhlegm I'm happy to non essential shop for you! Yesterday I bought an electric toothbrush and a toasted sandwich maker.

Love the thread title!

@Ibake I think you must be quite near to me.

Today has been a good day in the main. I invited one of DS's friends over and his whole family came. It was so good! We were in the garden for ages, well the adults stayed out there. After a bit the kids went inside to play. Technically it's allowed as I'm on my own and no one else has been/is likely to visit. DS told me after he and his friend had a sneaky hug in the hall where no one could see. Bless. It makes me a bit sad they felt they had to hide it. Unfortunately I've managed to sunburn a strip of my chest. It's proper red.

In bad news my wifi is fucked and I've had to book an engineer to come out so no netflix/you tube for us anytime soon. Thank God for phone data.

bakingcupcakes · 14/06/2020 00:02

I wish I had chips. At least I've had gin.

Ibake · 14/06/2020 00:04

Ooh @bakingcupcakes. I don't really mind if anyone outs me as my views on here are generally well known by my mates. Clues: Bolton girl. Now have Esther McVey as (fucking useless) MP and, critically for you, am in a bake club. Any guesses?!

Allflightscancelled · 14/06/2020 00:04

Ibake sounds frustrating 😦

Allflightscancelled · 14/06/2020 00:10

DDs party is now back in a very late swing as rain has passed over, fire pit is relit and Queen playlist has resumed. My poor neighbours. I warned them and all said 'go for it' but I worry. Think I'll give it 15 more mins and then get the sound down. Weather looks better tomorrow do they could resume after breakfast if they are proper hardcore. I'd be proud if they are 🤗

bakingcupcakes · 14/06/2020 00:10

@Ibake You don't need to worry about being outed by me! I know hardly anyone, only been 'up north' a few years although I did grow up here. My grandparents lived near Bolton.

Shanghaisue · 14/06/2020 00:17

Sadly I have to self isolate for 2 weeks after coming into contact with a covid positive patient so no visits to the chip shop for me

NannyPhlegm · 14/06/2020 00:17

@Allflightscancelled I'm glad your DD's party is going ahead. It sounds fun! I'm sure your neighbours won't mind. During the sunny spell in May, my kids made riotous noises in the garden. We're surrounded by ancient couples, and one of them told us during the Thursday night claps (remember those?) that they loved hearing them play, and it reminded them of being young parents.

Ibake · 14/06/2020 00:30

@allflightscancelled am so glad she's having fun. Tell them to belt out Don't Stop Me Now for me xx

Allflightscancelled · 14/06/2020 00:39

They've done don't stop me now but I could ask for it again and join in. I'm also planning to ask for seven seas of rhye (a total banger)Smile

Allflightscancelled · 14/06/2020 00:40

Off out there now. To see how drunk they are. I'll need a wee first just in case I have to do mum dancing

Allflightscancelled · 14/06/2020 00:50

They've gone a bit mellow! Elton's Tiny Dancer 🤔 ethjnjs they're getting a bit tired
