Maybe we can have a 'Fuck off Ferguson' campaign? I think he's done enough fucking in every sense Grin

I’d back a ‘fuck off Ferguson’ campaign. Just read another thread where they were saying how wonderful he is and how he’s the only one who is ‘honest and realistic’. I wrote a reply and then deleted it... I think I’d have got crucified!

HesterShaw1 · 11/06/2020 13:19

The next thread title perhaps. The Anti Dementors shout "Fuck off Ferguson"?

Might be a touch on the provocative side and summon trolls.

"fuck you and your fucking off Ferguson" is going to be on my placard.
LadyOfTheImprovisedBath · 11/06/2020 13:20

I'd also get behind a fuck off Ferguson’ campaign.

Named changed- I do it regularly and it's past time and even the weather fucking me off at the minute and there's no sun to enjoy.

It's taken all my authority and powers of persuasion to get one of mine in a much needed bath - only to find bath taps out of bounds so had to fill from a sink. Odd thing is likely to take as much effort to actually get them back out the bath.

I think this evening will be popcorn and film as we're all a bit meh.

Shodan · 11/06/2020 13:21

@trappedsincesundaymorn Flowers

@Dowser Sho Dan, I’m so sorry about your business opportunity.
I bet my osteopath will be the last to open.
You can’t get any closer than a masseuse can you?
- Marginally- my business (should I ever get to start it up!) is to teach women self-defence, so much closeness is required!

@SpnBaby1967 - I've actually been doing some training in a field for the last 2 weeks, with my fellow black belts. It's better than nothing tbh. Also- it looks like you and I are going to take that Sandan journey together! I had decided not to go for it again (tried and failed twice) as the politics of our club and its 'governing body' (well known national martial arts body) enraged me so much. My instructor and the fellow black belts I train with atm consider me to be 3rd dan already, so that was enough for me-until I heard they were due to go for 4th dan (not my instructor, he's way past that!) and I suddenly thought "Well shit, I don't want to get left behind" so.... I'm going for it again Shock.

Go us Grin

Nihiloxica · 11/06/2020 13:21

Neil Ferguson reminds me of Lisa's anti-tiger rock in the Simpsons.

Dementors: "Neil, we want to buy your rock"

BarkandCheese · 11/06/2020 13:21

Fuck off Ferguson to the far side of fuck and then Ferguson fuck off some more.

TheGreatWave · 11/06/2020 13:22

Sorry to hear many are finding the situation so difficult today.

Update on MIL. Still no idea about the fall (neighbours know nothing) but she is on the ward having hourly eye drops as she has a particularly bad eye infection. DH just going to do some kind of drive by drop off of clothes for her. In through the clean entrance and drop the stuff at the ward door.

Spoke to my manager earlier, giddy with excitement as can now meet with her partner, as is one of my other colleagues who needs some proper looking after by mum and dad time.

Hairdressers posted on FB last night so added to the waiting list, and the shoe shop is opening again.

Shodan · 11/06/2020 13:23

I think this evening will be popcorn and film

That is a fab idea. I think I'll do that too Grin

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 11/06/2020 13:23

Can you imagine the news coverage if we all marched with 'Fuck Off Ferguson' signs? I don't know how many of you are like me, but people are shocked to find out I swear and I'm definitely not meant to march and swear according to stereotypes. I think they'd be more aghast than they are at people toppling statues Wink

Ferguson's at best a bloody liability and at worst a complete hack. There I've said it.

He predicted 150,000 people could die from foot and mouth. There were fewer than 200 deaths.

In 2002, Ferguson predicted that 50,000 people would likely die from exposure to BSE (mad cow disease). 177 people died.

In 2005, Ferguson predicted that up to 150 million people could be killed from bird flu. In the end, only 282 people died worldwide from the disease between 2003 and 2009.

In 2009, he said swine flu would lead to 65,000 British deaths. In the end, swine flu killed 457 people in the U.K.

In March, he admitted that his Imperial College model of the COVID-19 disease was based on undocumented, 13-year-old computer code that was intended to be used for a feared influenza pandemic, rather than a coronavirus. Ferguson declined to release his original code so other scientists could check his results. He only released a heavily revised set of code in May, after a six-week delay.

Why the fuck does anyone listen to this incompetent arsehole.

justasking111 · 11/06/2020 13:24

For all the mums struggling hugs. We grannies are feeling pretty helpless at this time. My friend her eldest daughter gave birth this morning, she so wants to leave Wales to care for her when she gets home but has no idea when Drakeford will lift the barrier or Boris will give permission. It really is so hard for everyone.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 11/06/2020 13:24

I would be more than happy with that.
sprinklesone · 11/06/2020 13:24

I have toddler twins

KaronAVyrus · 11/06/2020 13:26

If Ferguson had truly believed the horseshit he came out with he would have followed the rules he helped to create.

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 11/06/2020 13:27

@sprinksone - I'm sorry and I hope you're loving it, but as you're here I'm guessing I'm safe to say I really feel for you. My uterus actually shuddered.

Ferguson can do one when his BSE scare came in I had a 12 year old and a 10 year old. We rarely ate a McDonalds but did eat a lot of mince for economic reasons. I was bloody terrified that I had put a ticking bomb in their brains. He then said it would be up to 30 years bomb ticking away. Bastard!!!

Cattermole · 11/06/2020 13:29

When Ian Dunked-In-Shit starts describing someone as professionally incompetent you KNOW they've reached a new low.....
#fuckoffFerguson

TheGreatWave · 11/06/2020 13:29

Same here, what is that all about?

Ibake · 11/06/2020 13:29

Thanks @livin. Have just copied that into the notes on my phone along with all the other crib notes I keep to ward off dementors as I am incapable of keeping a statistic in my head for more than 30 seconds

BarkandCheese · 11/06/2020 13:30

I really feel for everyone with toddlers and young children. DD was 9 when we moved from a small fifth floor flat into a house with a garden. Both DH and I have agreed it would have been absolute hell to have been in lockdown in the flat with a young child.

justasking111 · 11/06/2020 13:33

These threads move so fast I do hope one day the thread will be titled.

"Anti dementors hit the shops"

I am not a big shopper but want the bloody choice back to have a womble around them.

HesterShaw1 · 11/06/2020 13:37

Anti dementors go to the leisure centre and play sport at their club

Anti dementors go to the pub and get pissed]

Anti dementors meet in a coffee shop and have some cake

All these impossible seeming dreams.....isn't it funny how our horizons have shrunk? I drove 20 miles up the A30 the other day and felt like I was on a bloody transcontinental road trip. The freedom was dizzying.

GoldenOmber · 11/06/2020 13:39

I don’t have a problem with Ferguson tbh. His group predicted UK would have 20K-50k deaths with lockdown in place, that seems about where we’re headed, okay. I do wish they had done this sooner though and it could have been over with much quicker. Three sodding months, Christ.

It feels to me like a lot of the public determination to stay in lockdown forever is because people feel like the government was strong-armed into it and needs to be strongarmed into staying there until... next year? when? Have heard several people say they’re not happy to come out of it until he government can handle everything competently, but ffs have they seen the current government? I am not prepared to stay in lockdown until the 2024 General Election!
