And even if the data entry is perfect the modelling and interpretation is done by humans with all the biases and problems that they bring.

Checking in.

Well done Domina, thats a great result.

I have been in a really foul mood all day. Even though I knew DD1 (yr 7) would not be back in and I had expected DD2 (yr 3) to be off until September. The news today has really pissed me off. I guess I was hoping that they would able to drop social distancing in schools for the last few weeks and let more children go back. Apparently not. Then again I don't pay any tax by sending my children to school. When I'm allowed to go to a shop or a pub etc some of what I will buy will have VAT.

I feel that, while expected, its still a blow and has set me back a bit. I'm angry today.

Teateaandmoretea · 09/06/2020 21:33

I just wanted to share that not all teachers are doom and gloom

Totally. The teachers at the dds’ school have been positive and non-dementorish throughout. They must recoil in horror at most of the nonsense being spouted in their names. They are professional, hard working people 🤔

Sandybval · 09/06/2020 21:33

Aren't these threads largely redundant know as seemingly no one gives a fuck and is doing as they please anyway?

a) no they're not, and b) what is it you think these threads are for?

Drivingdownthe101 · 09/06/2020 21:35

Dementor in the wild comment...

Someone on my local spotted page asked if there were any mobile hairdressers currently still working and available. Got a couple of comments pointing out that they’re not legally allowed to operate etc.
One comment said ‘yes, the morticians’.

These threads are the only thing keeping me sane.

Nope.

HauntedGoatFart · 09/06/2020 21:36

Checking in. You (and Sikora) keep me sane.

DominaShantotto · 09/06/2020 21:36

Tomorrow I’m going to start being a pain in the email arse about schools. It’s time we started shouting loud and clear since the only thing making policy here is public opinion.

Bellesavage · 09/06/2020 21:36

Exactly @BakewellTarts

Believe me the state my hair is in now, I’ve considered asking my mortician friend to have a go!
GoldenOmber · 09/06/2020 21:38

Yep, I bet the morticians wouldn't try to upsell me on expensive conditioner either.

Yeah everything’s totally back to normal, our kids are in school, we can see family, go swimming, kids can go to clubs.

Or hang on maybe you should jog on.

Bollss · 09/06/2020 21:39

Don't feed the troll Smile

Teateaandmoretea · 09/06/2020 21:39

😆 at the morticians. What are these people on?

BakewellTarts · 09/06/2020 21:40

I'd take anyone with sharp scissors at this point...mine are so blunt as to be useless for cutting paper let alone hair.

Who on earth are you to tell us that our threads, which are a massive source of support to many of us, are ‘redundant’?

I can’t find my hairdressing scissors so cut the DD’s hair with my dog trimming scissors!
Bollss · 09/06/2020 21:41

I'm considering cutting my own hair. And ds' poor child looks like nobody loves him!

Teateaandmoretea · 09/06/2020 21:42

I cut my own. It looks okay, really 😊

Nihiloxica · 09/06/2020 21:42
@nihil - I can ask mn to delete this one or we can keep a spare for next thread and direct everyone to the first one?
No, nobody has posted on my one.

It has the same name as this one, so we'll need a new name in 40 pages.

TheGreatWave · 09/06/2020 21:43

I so want to go at ds's hair with the trimmers - I need to build myself up to that though. I've done dh's - his is a different level though.

BakewellTarts · 09/06/2020 21:43

The DDs are both OK (they have been growing their hair anyway). As is DH after an extreme trim with clippers. Mine is the problem. I didn't realise I'd got so grey!

Bollss · 09/06/2020 21:43

Mines really long now so if it went horribly wrong I could just tie it up!
