DH was not impressed with my hair cutting skills Sad

Dowser · 09/06/2020 21:45

Tea
I agree totally it scares me far more than covid

I had my meltdown..within the first two weeks of lockdown
Lots of depression, lots of crying.
I just knew some awful things were coming to us.
I couldn’t explain it I just felt it.
Then around the time of last months full moon..beginning of May, I felt a bit of an energy shift.
I started to feel a bit more positive.
It still doesn’t feel right, it still feels bogus.
At least more people are questioning what is going on right now and want answers.
I don’t feel quite as alone as I did.
You can tell by the amount of people joining this thread.

Unfortunately as I feel rather unwell at the moment, I’m not able to devote the time I’d like to it.
There are plenty of other energy workers, working though.
Have no fear on that one.

Just so you know in NHS Highland which goes from Helensburgh 20 miles north of Glasgow to John O' Groats 265 miles north there have been 2 new infections in a week ( not a day but a whole 7 days) and there has only been 197 since March altogether in an area of 12,500 square miles there has been 197 cases, that is 1 case for every 60 square miles

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 09/06/2020 21:47

.

Dowser · 09/06/2020 21:49

I’ve got an appointment with my hairdresser on July 7 th a month away😱
I said ..I’ll try and keep my hands off it.
I got a one word answer

Lol
It’s not so bad, still plenty of brown coming in
I haven’t earned my badger stripe yet.

rookiemere · 09/06/2020 21:50

I think the tide is turning in the media regarding schools. DH has an online subscription to the Daily Telegraphclaims he got it free with Netflix and the leading headline is that your child is more likely to die from being struck by lightening than from catching coronavirus at school.

Granted I don't think it's an entirely neutral publication, but DH has heard me wittering about the anti-dementors and thought it worth mentioning at least we're no longer arguing about Brexit.

rookiemere · 09/06/2020 21:52

Oh hairwise I've been experimenting with different 3-4 wash colours. one week I was blue and last week sort of red, planning on mahogany this weekend. Reminds me of being a teen and using Shaders and Toners - if anyone else remembers those ?

TheGreatWave · 09/06/2020 21:53

Yes the dd's are ok - just growing a bit longer, mine just goes very straggly once it has any length, but I can get it swept back now if I need to.

DS is kind of at the hair flopping into his eyes stage.

BakewellTarts · 09/06/2020 21:54

I can't play too much with hair colour I still need to look professional in my Teams / Zoom / Webexing working life (God I hate video conferencing!)

Dowser · 09/06/2020 21:54

Oh yes rookie
But harmony was the best
Left my hair so shiny and swishy
It was waist length
( wish I still had it)

pollyhemlock · 09/06/2020 21:55

Checking in for the sanity

That made me laugh quite a lot Dowser Grin

May hair is a bloody disaster. I tried doing the ill advised Mumsnet haircut a few weeks ago, figuring that wavy hair is quite forgiving. I ended up giving myself the "Rachel" Hmm

Teateaandmoretea · 09/06/2020 21:58

@Dowser I read ‘rookie’ as ‘nookie’ changes the poem somewhat 😂😂

Mamamia87 · 09/06/2020 21:59

Long time lurker emerging to say a big THANK YOU to the posters on the anti dementors threads. These threads have kept me sane and made me laugh whilst it’s felt like the world around me has gone mental! Never imagined that in a pandemic, so many people that I consider reasonably intelligent would abandon logic and reasoning for panic and hysteria. The public reaction, fuelled by scare mongering in the media, has been way more terrifying than the virus. Watching some of you tearing strips off the dementors on the Coronavirus threads has bought so much joy to my life 😂😂

rookiemere · 09/06/2020 22:01

Do you think hairdressers will be open in Scotland by 7th July? From reading the phasing and the 3 week between thing, it looks to be 9th July and I'd really like mine to be at least cut before we make our break for the English border.
My boss said there are blackmarket hairdressers but I'm not sure how to find them - suspect it's a bit like the resistance and they have a pair of scissors in the window or something. Like I say I'm quite enjoying playing with the colour and may take the opportunity to grow out the highlights for good, but it's so bloody thick it takes forever to dry.

Willow2017 · 09/06/2020 22:01

Crikey this threads off and running!
Thanks for new thread Wales.

Tea dont be silly those are fake numbers they always are when its goid news. Only high/bad numbers are correct.

DominaShantotto
Well done on that mark. Considering the circumstances thats bloody awesome.

Am watching Life Below Zero. Sue is my heroine. Wish i had her determination and strength. I have had some shit dropped on me in my life and i have just ploughed on but right now i am wobbly. New job is very unsupportive and a bit stressy, And its making my crap body complain like mad after every shift. i am not sleeping or waking up with ridiculous nightmares of which are nornal things but not things i do iyswim. And worrying about my kids isnt helping. Just feeling a bit crap.
I will get over myself so someone give me a good ol shake and pass me a grip to speed it up.😄

Littlebelina · 09/06/2020 22:02

If one of you does have hairdressing skills can you pop round to Thomas schafernaker's? It'll be getting into his eyes soon and he won't be able to read the weather

rookiemere · 09/06/2020 22:03

Keir Starmer could definitely do with a trim too.

Willow2017 · 09/06/2020 22:05

Shaders and Toners - if anyone else remembers those ?

Ha ha me! Set me off on my life long quest for deep mahogany coloured hair. I have dye sitting waiting still i need to do it my Mallen streak is showing big time.

NothingIsWrong · 09/06/2020 22:06

Oooh here you all are again. I went for a run with two friends this evening for the first time since the end of March. Beautiful evening, superb run, made me feel quite normal again. I hope it lasts. 2am is the killer time for me, I wake up and then can't get back to sleep...

DrearyWallAntler · 09/06/2020 22:10

Christ we fill up threads fast.

Shodan · 09/06/2020 22:14

Evening all.

Welcome @Mamamia87. Nice to have more anti-dementors to swell the hordes.

I've been having an off day today, so I decided to stay well away from any dementor threads because all I want to post is a series of expletives and profanities Grin

I see one publication (I forget which) is claiming that today's death toll is a 'spike'. More of a pimple I would've thought.

TheGreatWave · 09/06/2020 22:23

On a totally unrelated note, we have spotted at least one hedgehog in the garden, tonight there were two, who were possibly involved in some kind of mating ritual - so hopefully baby hogs in time. We are waiting a nature camera so will be able to keep a proper eye out.

Dowser · 09/06/2020 22:25

Nothing is wrong
Wilkinsons sleep aid tablets..do help..passiflora and valerian and hops
Not expensive, if they don’t work
I take melatonin and two Sleep aid at the start of the night and then two sleep aid when I wake up
I keep an arsenal of stuff though and I’m not afraid to use it.

If I really get out of my tree, I must admit nothing seems to override that
I have to use other tactics, lie there and distract myself, or read ipad
Sometimes I do a breathing thing, on intake breath say in your mind a nice word peace, calm, joy, love ..whatever and try to breathe opposite out
So calm..chaos
Joy..sadness
Etc
Visualise yourself letting go of all the awful stuff , while welcoming the good stuff in.
Give it a colour gold, rose pink, silver, violet, light blue light green, if you know the chakras breathe in the colour for each chakra..as light beautiful colours and when you breathe out, see the dirty muddy version leave your body
Like when a child you put black in with everything

EFT is very good...you can tap on your finger ends if you don’t want to do the whole hog..also it shouldn’t disturb your partner.
Then there’s the Bach flower remedies
White chestnut, rescue remedy and so forth
But they are best choosing up to 6 and putting in a treatment bottle with alcohol and water mix. Can be quite expensive 6 so maybe best stick to rescue remedy..ainsworths..it’s the better one..
Magnesium..never underestimate deficiencies in your diet.. magnesium deficiency can lead to insomnia and other nasties, muscle pain etc
The cheapest way to get it into your body is to buy pure Epsom salt, mix some with spring water and rub into parts of the body..test on a tough area like calves or outer thighs rather than abdomen where skin. Might be thinner due to childbirth

Always start small with anything and build up.
Some people find lavender oil very calming..and others can’t stand it.
I know if I spend a day in the sun and rub lavender oil into the affected areas I usually sleep well..it could be good melatonin production as well.

If I think of anything else I’ll post it

Dowser · 09/06/2020 22:25

Oops..I did it again
