God I am praying for the 1m rule to come in. I really, really want to return to work for my mental health. I hate reading all the fucking updates from the university where I work about SAFETY being the ABSOLUTE PRIORITY, one way systems and PPE. It’s a university, not a COVID ward.

And we had someone replying all to the entire faculty about how they don’t trust the uni to keep us safe and are worried about social distancing etc. They signed off with ‘things should never go back to the way they were.’ Get. To. Fuck.

@SeaOtterFluff my heart sank when I saw that update on schools. We don’t go back until August here in Scotland but what are parents who work supposed to do? This is criminal.

Why the bloody hell did they get him involved if he always gets it wrong?

Maybe it was so that they could say oh look only this many died instead of half a mil like this guy suggested!

Or at the very least get some new batteries for his calculator.

Oh and he also predicted 150k for foot and mouth.

Anyone know how to find the community transmission rate? We used to get the breakdown but not anymore and I cannot think of any other reason than it's really low and they don't trust us with that information.

That’s absolutely the reason we are fed some daft figure that includes care homes and hospitals to make us all feel like shit. That the infection rate in the community seemingly went from 1 in 400 to 1 in 1000 in a week or maybe two surely tells us a lot more than this ridiculous made up R

@Hobnobswantshernameback the teaching unions care fuck all about children. I actually hate them, their behaviour in this has been shocking. We had the same stress before Y6 went back in England and it happened if that is any consolation.

What happens if a child lives more than 5 miles from school? 😂😂😂. Sorry couldn’t resist....

If science gives a glimmer of hope, then it must be wrong. Ditto for the "death numbers" if it's high well this is the flouters fault, if its low well clearly it's a lie.

I have been at work in the office all the way through, now they are looking to bring some more people back H&S are finally bothered about safety and all the same discussions are happening about one way systems etc (which would have us all traipsing though the factory with overhead cranes, outside and back in through the front door). My favourite is H&S have now removed all communal cutlery and crockery from the kitchen. However when I make a cuppa in my special saved mug with my personal teaspoon I can touch the kettle, coffee jar, fridge door, milk bottle just not a mug from the cupboard. I quite miss being one of a handful in where we got on with it and we all managed to stay alive throughout March, April & May shared teaspoons and all.

That's what I said a few pages back. Why is his latest bullshit being peddled as though he is the saviour of all mankind due to his recommendation to shut down Life indefinitely? A squillion people in Europe have been saved because of lockdowns. OK, but Ferguson's model assumed much greater infectiousness than we have seen and a much greater death rate and crucially he ignored any kind of of non susceptibility which is really high. It wasn't a great model was it? And kind of matches his previous disaster ridden track record.

Why is he being listened to? The guy who took his own lockdown measures so seriously he had his girlfriend over for some lockdown sex?

I don't know how we, and by that I mean me personally and society generally, come back from this.

How do you go from a society that clamours to stop children going to school for a year or more to a functioning democracy where people have basic rights respected?

@NellyLongarms it's stories like this that give H&S a bad name.
