Same posters who claim that their mate who works in the nhs bla bla bla
Are the ones who claimed they'd seen troops on the streets
Bodies were piling up
Yadda yadda
I had a work colleague claim to me back at the start that the picture on her Facebook was army vehicles ready to be deployed at our local rugby stadium
They were left hand drive fucking humvees the other side of the fucking Atlantic

Alsohuman · 07/06/2020 19:15

I’ve lurked for several threads now. Please tell me there isn’t going to be another run on loo roll.

NothingIsWrong · 07/06/2020 19:16

Just wanted to say that you are all keeping me sane. I'm teetering on the edge of serious problems, but you guys are holding me back.

Keep taking the pills, keep hugging the children. It will pass.

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 07/06/2020 19:16

It’s the Easter egg debacle that always makes me laugh. Remember we Jen the police threatened to start checking our trolleys for non essentials? Easter eggs were going to kill us all!

We Jen = when

Flock, or flout?
They do love the word flout.

Which is now in my head to the tune of a song.....

"Flout, flout let us all out
I want the things that I'm living without.."[/quote]
YES

bookworm14 · 07/06/2020 19:18

Checking in.

Just got back from drinking wine in DD’s friend’s garden while the kids ran about. Did me good to see children playing normally together.

userxx · 07/06/2020 19:20

I'm here and flocked off with it all.

Bellesavage · 07/06/2020 19:21

I've started to get hives when people say the word 'safe'.

DominaShantotto · 07/06/2020 19:23

I've finally got DD off her skype call to her school friends - quite a lump in throat moment realising they've not spoken for 3 months nearly.

Looking like DD2's end of year 2 leaving MIGHT happen - the juniors have offered their school field so the schools are planning some form of distanced picnic if they can do when things relax a bit more over the summer.

I've spent the afternoon making amiibo cards for Animal Crossing

Waleshasgonecompletelycrazy · 07/06/2020 19:25

@MorrisZapp - to flock or to flout. That is the question...

Surely the answer is both!

DrearyWallAntler · 07/06/2020 19:27

Flocking here to flout.

BakewellTarts · 07/06/2020 19:27

Checking as a flocker and a flouter.

Spent the day with my sister and nephew. Good socially distant play in the park and a picnic. Bit damp but we are set up for weather.

I did give her a big hug though after she broke down after collecting my brother in laws ashes. So shoot me.

TheGreatWave · 07/06/2020 19:29

No loo roll shortage, my little random stuff shop has plenty in, so that's my yard stick. It is lovely though as I bet they have never sold so much, I have used it quite a bit and will continue to do so. Yesterday's purchase was a kit to fix the toilet seat.

TheGreatWave · 07/06/2020 19:31

Bakewell hug away, anyone who says you shouldn't is cold hearted and unfeeling.

BlackberryViolet · 07/06/2020 19:32

Checking in too

Been on a murder spree in York today. Very quiet although a few places doing street food and takeaway. So the murder spree ended up as a ramble between buying yummy things, including gin, pizza and galettes and having a close up look at the old buildings. At one point we were the only people in the Shambles. Followed up by the awesome sight of the Minster Peregrines hunting.

And for anyone up here in the NE, lemon tops are available in Redcar again. Or at least they were open on Friday eveningGrin

Mascotte · 07/06/2020 19:35

That's the problem: the only fun available is food based.!

Never mind the virus, it's the fatness that will kill me

littlbrowndog · 07/06/2020 19:35

Flocking in.

Flocked to Lidl today. No one was distancing at all. They have given up. Just flocking round the aisles of excitement

LivinLaVidaLoki · 07/06/2020 19:38

I posted this on the last thread but it was right at the end so thought I'd ask again here.

Just seen another headline about schools. "Schools may not open until 2021 as r rate rises"

All complete speculation, no sources, no news.
No context about R rate.
Also "x town has highest increase in 24 hours" 3 people. Which is actually lower than it has been.

Wonder if anyone has started a petition yet to make the press more accountable for their handling of the covid "crisis".

Most of it borders on irresponsible lies and scaremongering trotted out for clickbait.

SomewhereEast · 07/06/2020 19:40

I'd forgotten about the Easter eggs thing Grin Early lockdown really was batshit wasn't it?

Drivingdownthe101 · 07/06/2020 19:43

@SomewhereEast

I'd forgotten about the Easter eggs thing Grin Early lockdown really was batshit wasn't it?
It really was. And the outrage if a grandparent dared to make a non essential trip to drop Easter eggs off on their grandchild’s doorstep! That alone made you responsible for at least 300 deaths. Any form of rationality went completely out of the window... ‘but who am I harming if I walk 3 mins to my daughters house and leave an Easter egg?’. ‘It’s a non essential journey, you could be eaten by a seagull on the way and need an ambulance and that will mean a Covid patient is DYING IN THE STREET’!!

And the clothing and homeware areas of supermarkets closed off.....
Bollss · 07/06/2020 19:44

@LivinLaVidaLoki the press have acted despicably. They should be held to account for it. It's like psychological warfare. Scaring people with utter bollocks. It's out of order. If there is a petition I'll sign it!

ExpletiveDelighted · 07/06/2020 19:45

Signing in, I missed the last thread entirely. That whole Easter egg thing seems like a lifetime ago.
