A 43-year-old German prisoner who travelled around Portugal in a camper van is now the focus of Scotland Yard's investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

This fucking bag of evil might just like torturing people. We already knows he's raped a child and an old woman. It's not inconceivable he took the boy too. And the boy might have been his first as it was when he was 19.

NameChange84 · 05/06/2020 21:39

@JoesExotic according to German Newspapers he exposed himself to a nine year old boy.

PennyNotSoWise · 05/06/2020 21:47

@JoesExotic

I'm not overly convinced about the theory this man also took a little boy. All his crimes were perpetrated against females of varying ages. Criminal profiling suggests when such offenders have a 'type' they rarely, if ever, deviate from their preferences.

That said, I'm sure that isn't ALWAYS the case. Who knows.

I'm torn too, but the 72 year old seems to be the odd one out, for want of a better phrase, so seems like it was an opportunistic attack.

Could have been the same regarding the boy. CB was still a teenager himself so may have not developed a preference yet 🤮 I don't know how police deal with sick shits like this, it's vile trying to understand how such a person thinks.

SisterAgatha · 05/06/2020 21:51

I said pages ago. They released the numbers to smoke someone out. They want others to come forward, they know who Diogo silva is, but they want US to also know so that exes and friends and potential criminal associates come forward because they have no choice.

“Isn’t that they Diogo you dated for a year? Are you going to the police? No? Well I bloody am!” etc

Yes, like Joseph McCann, convicted for multiple rapes. His victims ranged from an 11 year old boy to a 71 year old woman.
Mnthrowaway20202 · 05/06/2020 22:07

@JoesExotic

I disagree. Some offenders enjoys torture above what their victims look like. Eg this man gets his kicks off of sadism with his victims being completely powerless and in pain. Apparently in the videos his victims were wearing masks, that suggests that at the point of offending he is non plussed about what they look like - if he has the opportunity to live out his disgusting dark fantasies with a victim who isn’t his “type”, he’ll deviate

Then there's this case

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Joana_Cipriano

ItsInTheShed · 05/06/2020 22:11

maybe he took her for someone

he sold drugs. thats a grim dark world anyway but he may have taken her for someone else if his preference was boys

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 05/06/2020 22:12

Good grief, Bore.

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/06/2020 22:15

I know Countess! Did you see the name of the investigating officer?

Google the name of the mother + 'injuries' to see how she looked after interrogation.

Smallsteps88 · 05/06/2020 22:15
Then there's this case

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Joana_Cipriano
One of the two officers who was convicted, Chief Inspector Gonçalo Amaral, led the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, a British girl who went missing in May 2007 from the nearby resort of Praia da Luz. Amaral was not present during the alleged assault, but was accused of having covered up for other officers; he was convicted of having falsified police documents in the case and received an eighteen-month suspended sentence.[6]

From the link quoted.

How the fuck was he ever allowed near another missing child case let alone made by chief inspector and allowed to lead the investigation? Shock what is wrong with this police force?

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/06/2020 22:17

I only heard of this case tonight. I'm beyond shocked.

NameChange84 · 05/06/2020 22:19

@ItsInTheShed German newspapers are reporting he returned to Germany with a lot of cash back in 2007 after Madeleine went missing Sad.

Smallsteps88 · 05/06/2020 22:24

Well her injuries certainly weren’t caused by falling down the stairs.

HedgeHogFoxBadger · 05/06/2020 22:25

Was there anything more on the man that was carrying a child that night?

Smallsteps88 · 05/06/2020 22:26

He also transferred his jaguar to someone else so the money could have been for the car.

PurplePansy05 · 05/06/2020 22:31

so even more important to avoid jury bias

There is no jury in criminal proceedings in Germany. It's highly unlikely he'd ever be on trial in England because of the circumstances of this case.

If these reports are proved to be true, this man is devious and this might be the tip of the iceberg.

PolloDePrimavera · 05/06/2020 23:25

Carola Titze was German but on holiday in Belgium. Her body was found a few days later in the woods. Before her disappearance, she had had contact with a German man, went to discos eith him etc. Police are looking into the case again to see if there's a connection between her and CB. My Dutch isn't great but that's the gist...

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 05/06/2020 23:28

Regarding the photo of the Jaguar (car) wasn't it the car in the Levi Bellfield murders that wrapped up the case?
I wonder why we weren't shown the number plate of the Jag. There could be someone out there who collects car number plates & lists them in a notebook with date & place.
I know it's a very niche hobby but I know of someone on the Autistic spectrum who does this.

GiantKitten · 05/06/2020 23:34

The present owner (& present reg) may be completely unconnected to this.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 05/06/2020 23:36

I mean the reg of the car in 2007

Smallsteps88 · 05/06/2020 23:39

This thread is almost full so I started a new one

Spacepocket · 06/06/2020 10:20

Do the police have both the car and the camper van?

ZiggeryZaggy · 06/06/2020 10:43

@knittingaddict - it is possible to see the tapas bar quite clearly from the pavement that runs alongside the complex. Not from the side where the apartment was, but from the other side. Anyone could have looked from that point and seen where the adults were, and watched the times that different members of the group were leaving the tables and coming back.
