Drag queen at wedding

wedding2021 · 23/05/2020 22:18

I'm considering having a drag queen sing at my wedding. What would you think if you were at a wedding and a drag queen had been booked to perform? Obviously they'd tone it down a bit with swearing etc.

OP posts:
crustycrab · 25/05/2020 23:31

And @JoeExoticsEyebrowRing wasn't "fake confused" at all!

Barely mentioned your "small north yorks village nursery pride" Grin. Irrelevant. I'm assuming they didn't have a pup play tent?

crustycrab · 25/05/2020 23:34

@LemonadeAndDaisyChains no. They weren't. It got deleted because it was reported. Not because it was bigoted.

Did you miss all of the further posts? Oh no. You didn't. If I report the post telling me to fuck off it'll be deleted.

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 25/05/2020 23:36

They weren't. It got deleted because it was reported

That doesn't even begin to make sense.
If there was nothing wrong with them, they wouldn't have been deleted, would they?
They'd have been reported but they'd have stayed up if were deemed fine.
I read them.
They really werent'.

So report it then.
That'll be deleted as is a personal attack.
Things don't get deleted just because they're reported. A lot are usually left to stand as MN HQ think they're OK.

crustycrab · 25/05/2020 23:40

@LemonadeAndDaisyChains you're calling me a bigot and you're so wrong.

No comment on wether you read any of my further posts trying to explain my stance, not to my apology to the poster who took what I was saying the wrong way (understandably) and probably reported it

crustycrab · 25/05/2020 23:42

@LemonadeAndDaisyChains no. I won't report Livings post. Because I clearly worded it wrong and caused offence Blush

crustycrab · 25/05/2020 23:47

And my opinion of you with the bullying nature stands.

Lots of "yes, this" and "well said"....Littered with oh I'm so lighthearted but wtf? (Insert tinkly laugh) posts but no real opinion or knowledge on the subject. Did you have #bekind on your fb profile picture too?

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 25/05/2020 23:48

you're calling me a bigot and you're so wrong

I haven't called you any names, I'm just saying some of the comments I've seen have seemed horribly bigoted.

No comment on wether you read any of my further posts trying to explain my stance,

I did, but I'm sorry it didn't seem to make the comments any better.
You don't seem to see how horrible it is to automatically conflate drag queens with paedophilia.
Somebody just singing cheesy songs at a wedding has nothing to do with any of that.

bringincrazyback · 25/05/2020 23:58

Did you have #bekind on your fb profile picture too?

I'm guessing you didn't.

crustycrab · 26/05/2020 00:13

"You don't seem to see how horrible it is to automatically conflate drag queens with paedophilia."

Sorry, what?! Automatically? You are commenting on a discussion between me and one other poster that has now spanned almost two days. Nothing was automatic. In fact my first response to the OPs question (sorry for the detail OP, hope your wedding is great) was simply "No, I'd leave at that point".

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 26/05/2020 00:16

Why are you fixating on the word automatically?
You're ignoring everything else I just said.

crustycrab · 26/05/2020 00:18

The only other thing you said was that the OP wanted "cheesy" songs at a wedding.

crustycrab · 26/05/2020 00:19

What would you like me to say about that Confused

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 26/05/2020 00:21

The only other thing you said was that the OP wanted "cheesy" songs at a wedding

The OP said that herself in her update - that the drag queen would be doing a few tunes, no act which people seemed to be worried about - just singing!
Why are you ignoring what else I said?

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 26/05/2020 00:25

"You don't seem to see how horrible it is to automatically conflate drag queens with paedophilia."

OK, think I get where you're confused now
Take out the word automatically.
I didn't mean fast or anything Confused
You don't seem to see how horrible it is to conflate drag queens with paedophilia
That better?
What has a drag queen singing at a wedding got to do with that unless you think they must all be dodgy to start with?

crustycrab · 26/05/2020 00:39

"What has a drag queen singing at a wedding got to do with that unless you think they must all be dodgy to start with?"

Regardless of what I think about drag...you still didn't say anything new. Why are you spoiling for a fight here?

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 26/05/2020 00:45

Why are you spoiling for a fight here

I'm really not.
I'm just baffled as to why you think your posts and attitude is fine and dandy and on one hand seem genuine when you don't seem to have a clue what it is you've saying is offensive, but in the next breath seemingly standing by your opinions in what case you can't expect people not to challenge them.

Regardless of what I think about drag...you still didn't say anything new
New? In what way? My opinions are mine, yours are yours.
There's been no new arguments.
The fact you seemingly think it's OK to link paedos and drag queens (as you flat out refuse to acknowledge and say I'm going on about cheesy music instead Confused )fine you do you.
Just don't expect to not be questioned on it.

crustycrab · 26/05/2020 01:04

"Why are you fixating on the word automatically?
You're ignoring everything else I just said."

This was you. You didn't just say anything else.

You are spoiling for a fight and won't get one

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 26/05/2020 01:11

This was you. You didn't just say anything else

What? Confused
Read my post.
I even took the word automatically out for you.

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 26/05/2020 01:15

Why is it OK to conflate drag queens with paedophilia?
You won't answer and instead fixate on a random word (automatically) and cheesy music Confused
That's presumably why your comments were deleted.
You did it, and you still refuse to acknowledge or admit.

crustycrab · 26/05/2020 01:16

I've read it. There's nothing to address there that hasn't been covered.

Still 🤷🏽‍♀️. You're a bully. Or nasty at best.

Make your own point instead of "this". And "yes, agreed"

We're not at school

crustycrab · 26/05/2020 01:17

"You did it, and you still refuse to acknowledge or admit."

You "did it" ConfusedGrin

WhoAmIGoingToBeToday · 26/05/2020 01:18

If you're booking the black and white minstrels too then go for it. But otherwise hell no

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 26/05/2020 01:19

You're a bully. Or nasty at best

Why?
Because I won't stand for prejudice and call it out?
I haven't called any names..
I have challenged some pretty sickening opinions though.
If that makes me a bully so be it Confused

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 26/05/2020 01:21

I've read it. There's nothing to address there that hasn't been covered.

This
This is what you keep ignoring.
