Most annoying advert on the TV right now

Is for Numan and its erectile dysfunction treatment.

I get unreasonably annoyed at the opening line: “erectile dysfunction is common in men”.

Well, yes, but it’s unlikely to be common in women!

OMG 'Perf with Surf' makes me want to scream into a pillow...

Perf wif surf 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

GivenchyDahhling · 23/05/2020 08:53

I change the channel if any nationwide ones come on. They are just awful.

Pinkarsedfly · 23/05/2020 08:53

What does ‘Perf with Surf’ actually mean? I’ve never seen the ad.

The yazoo ad.

Or it might just be that it drives DH crazy and that is annoying.

ElizabethMainwaring · 23/05/2020 08:54

I came on to say perf wif surf.
I always buy surf as well.
It's even worse on the radio.

ElizabethMainwaring · 23/05/2020 08:55

@Pinkarsedfly
Perfect with surf (the washing detergent).
It's Dani Dyer. It's an abomination.

Pinkarsedfly · 23/05/2020 08:56

Ok, I googled it.

That might be the worst thing I’ve ever seen.

Limpetlike · 23/05/2020 08:57

That Tampax horror that involves a tv presenter matily shouting ‘Shove’em up there, girls!’

kennyjenny · 23/05/2020 08:58

Perf with surf comes a close second but would say the nationwide adverts are the most annoying adverts, I can deal with the one but they keep releasing new ones....argh!!!

Samcro · 23/05/2020 08:59

the one with the pregnant woman talking to camera about something to do with six months time.

MabelFigge · 23/05/2020 09:01

The ones with people reciting awful poetry about the lockdown.

One with a couple who are getting married.

One with a pregnant woman going on about fake grass and gesticulating wildly for no reason.

There are probably more.

I’ve no idea what they’re actually advertising. Who finds these people? Do they write the “poetry” themselves?

Pinkarsedfly · 23/05/2020 09:03

I can’t stand the Haribo one where the two policeman have kids’ voices dubbed in.

Creepy as hell.

Pinkarsedfly · 23/05/2020 09:03

*policemen

ElizabethMainwaring · 23/05/2020 09:04

I love that haribo one!

ElizabethMainwaring · 23/05/2020 09:05

That couple in the nationwide ad are so smug.

Itsmemaggie · 23/05/2020 09:07

Perf with Serf is annoying but Nationwide one takes it for me. Fuck off with trying to capture how we’re feeling.

ipswichwitch · 23/05/2020 09:08

Oh Christ that god awful tampax ad. DH tried winding me up by quoting it when I was unpacking the tampax after shopping the other day. He very nearly found out where this “girl” would like to shove it... still in the box and preferably sideways.

ipswichwitch · 23/05/2020 09:11

May I also add every advert that starts with a reference to how different life is right now, but we’re always here to help. Really. I don’t need reminding every 8 bastard seconds that there is a global pandemic going on. I haven’t been asleep the last 3 months (mores the pity).

Viviennemary · 23/05/2020 09:11

The lockdown one with these idiotic folk.

Nicolastuffedone · 23/05/2020 09:12

Those kids on the ?andrex one. ‘As clean as a.......(something ridiculous’) oh! Sod off! Eejits

EinsteinaGogo · 23/05/2020 09:22

I now hate the Kevin Bacon one for E - free
Data for NHS workers.

When I first saw it, it brought a lump to my throat, but it think it's time to move on now.

EinsteinaGogo · 23/05/2020 09:23

@ElizabethMainwaring yes!!! I'm sure she's a nice girl, but even the yoga pose she does is more wobbly than a weeble!

ThornyR0se · 23/05/2020 09:34

Ah I googled. It’s Nationwide. Apparently the pregnant gesticulating woman is a “poet” called Deanna Rodger. Awful.

Someone mentioned the loathesome Andrew ads with the “clean as a....” stupid kids and their pretend teacher.

So many questions

Do they invent their own “clean as a...” analogies? Do their parents not care that the vast majority of viewers are watching with a curled lip and a black look? Or is it a PFB thing where they hug themselves with glee every time their little darling appears and fondly imagine how enchanted everyone watching must be?

ThornyR0se · 23/05/2020 09:35

Andrex.

Illbedownatthegardenwithmum · 23/05/2020 09:36

There’s one for bottled milkshake with a young couple- is that Yazoo @GreenTeaMug? If so, I’m firmly on your husband’s side!
