Most annoying advert on the TV right now

Is for Numan and its erectile dysfunction treatment.

I get unreasonably annoyed at the opening line: “erectile dysfunction is common in men”.

Well, yes, but it’s unlikely to be common in women!

The Microsoft Teams one that starts with a policeman and then the academic saying that (shock horror) it allows you to share your screen. Er just like Skype and Zoom then.Hmm

Besom · 23/05/2020 09:40

The cat and dog having a cup of tea but specifically when the cat says 'raining chaps and gals'. What is that?

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 23/05/2020 09:41

Every single Nationwide advert. And every Oral B advert "I didn't even know Oral B made toothpaste". And even the Meerkats are getting on my tits now.

My family would say the phone one that goes " awesome screen, awesome camera, long-lasting battery life" but that's mainly because I can't stop singing it.

DD says I have been in the house too long! Grin

Lampan · 23/05/2020 09:44

I clicked on this thread thinking there are a couple of ads I can’t stand, and people have beat me to it!
The Nationwide couple one has me scrabbling for the remote to change the channel!
The Surf one 🤮

Also those Maltesers ones with the friends video chat. So forced.

cliffdiver · 23/05/2020 09:45

Shove’em up there, girls!’ Shock

The Haribo adverts. I have to mute the TV.

wowfudge · 23/05/2020 09:46

All my least favourites have been mentioned, but the winner has to be the God awful Tampax advert.

justthecat · 23/05/2020 09:47

Cheesestrings advert 100%

That;'s the one Illbedownatthegardenwithmum

Dh goes red in the face and mutters angrily every time it comes on.

I hate the haribo ads also. But I also detested the go compare ads and could never understand why they seemed so popular.

GreenTeaMug · 23/05/2020 09:48

I saw the tampax ad for the first time this monring. My jaw just sort of dropped.

thecatsthecats · 23/05/2020 09:49

I didn't know the Perf with Surf girl was famous. Blush

I did think it was weird having a young woman advertising laundry detergent - I mean, it's laundry. Not something for the youngsters to get excited over.

NaturalBornWoman · 23/05/2020 09:50

Definitely the Haribo one, it makes my skin crawl. Creepy.

Oldraver · 23/05/2020 09:50

Yes the Nationwide ones, IH gets riled by them which is unusual for him. He says they all have gone to the same school if acting... I think not

To be honest any of the new Covid styler adverts with people to the laptop in their 'isolation' with bad sound are pushing me off

Mammatino · 23/05/2020 09:51

Nationwide makes me want to walk through cheese graters. The awful mcCains adverts with “normal” families and anything that is cashing in on the situation and saying clap for heroes.

NellyTimes · 23/05/2020 09:51

Who even sees adverts now? Surely either everything is watched on a streaming channel or if you're watching normal tv, the ad break is when you stare at your phone or get more snacks. They are so avoidable, it genuinely amazes me that anyone even notices them any more.

pongopig · 23/05/2020 09:51

The Times one with the typing which pauses for just a little bit too long. The Teams advert, especially the woman who says ‘continue to innovate’.

yorkshireteaspoonie · 23/05/2020 09:52

Tampax horror 🤢
Ebay "it took 96 seconds to get pregnant" bollocks 🖕🏽
Oral B unbearably snug bird 🙄

wishihadagoodone · 23/05/2020 09:52

The viagra ad where a middle age man is dancing around the house one morning after getting the ride the night before.

It starts with the opening bars of Steve Harley and and the Cockney Rebels - "Come Up and See Me (Make Me Smile)

Every time I hear that song now, I cringe so hard, I nearly turn inside out.

Oldraver · 23/05/2020 09:54

Told OH about this thread and he has revised it to

They all went to the same 4th year drama class

The Haribo make me cringe

whoami24 · 23/05/2020 09:56

Strings and things, I assume for cheesestrings, it's the song makes my skin crawl

Also hate perf and surf, nationwide

gingerbreadslice · 23/05/2020 09:57

The dove one I feel bad because it's supposed to be uplifting about social media but it really winds me up. It's the whiny voice

Besom · 23/05/2020 09:58

Oh and the Dreamies one where a creepy man borrows his neighbours cats to get into someones knickers. Wrong!

Iamblossom · 23/05/2020 09:58

YY to all the Nationwide ones.

That one that starts with a woman on a chair saying "I'm a firestarter" WTAF?

And that one for Top something ... "I'M here to tell YOU about TOP somethings for TOP some other things...". TOP annoying

aliceinsunderland44 · 23/05/2020 09:58

The nationwide adverts especially the new one with the woman asking 'how are you, no really how are you, how's your mum?' Fuck off.

I think it was them who created that horrendous 'I can share sunsets with you' couple too.
