Most annoying advert on the TV right now

Is for Numan and its erectile dysfunction treatment.

I get unreasonably annoyed at the opening line: “erectile dysfunction is common in men”.

Well, yes, but it’s unlikely to be common in women!

Virgin media’s performing children.

ThornyR0se · 24/05/2020 10:33

Something about Charlotte Tilburys voice makes me irrationally angry.

Smithtylater · 24/05/2020 10:36

Snoop Dogg with the Just eat one.....lol is he that desperate for money

Tv - perf with serf - since when has perf been a word
Radio -cordell & cordell - divorce lawyers for men. It screams I was taken to the cleaners by my ex wife and I want to make sure that it doesn't happen to anyone else

Bbq1 · 24/05/2020 10:43

So many! I cannot bear the Google conference call one with a really, really irritating person in each box including somebody laughing their head off in full ppe...
The advert for some sort of tech and the woman is prattling on about how the kids will remember this forever...Yeah sure, great memory talking to people on Skype
Adverts showing hr elderly totally au fait with technology.

LoisEinhorn · 24/05/2020 10:58

The one where the woman flies off in her shed

Holothane · 24/05/2020 13:08

I’ve no idea who half these people are but then I don’t watch reality tv unless it medical or animals.

TSSDNCOP · 24/05/2020 14:19

All the Nationwide ones or anything with a terrible poem.

LockedInMadness · 24/05/2020 15:13

That lass from oral B advert got a gig with Poirot. She didnt speak and got murdered in the first few seconds

Good 🤣

LevoMental · 24/05/2020 15:24

Nationwide.

Anything else with "ordinary" people performing vom-inducing poetic monologues.

Fucking wank.

Zaphodsotherhead · 24/05/2020 15:24

Virgin Media - drama school kids singing away (although I do love the expression on the face of the 'mic drop' lad at the end).

Jane Plan meals. It's the over-exaggerated hand gestures that annoy me. Did someone tell them that people take you more seriously if you talk with your hands? They were wrong. It's distracting and very very irritating and looks false (and I know this because I do it A LOT and have had to have it knocked out of me).

EngagedAgain · 24/05/2020 15:30

ipswichwitch 😂😂

UrbanMage · 24/05/2020 18:51

I can't stand the confused.com ones. The whole concept is stupid and his voice grates on me.

Nationwide: their advertising team are on to something as we all remember it. Never mind that it's for the wrong reasons.

janj2301 · 25/05/2020 02:09

I record all my shows so i can fast forward through the ads, then they put a trailer for the show I'm watching in the middle of the ads, I think show has restarted, press play and get the next ad, really **s me off

Tillygetsit · 25/05/2020 02:17

The car hire one where the woman shouts a long drawn out word. Buggered if I can remember what it is. Sounds like baboooooooooon.

Destroyedpeople · 25/05/2020 02:20

Claudia Winkleman and head and shoulders....I think know it word for word by now...'Gemma that's a bit dramatic'...

JemimaTab · 25/05/2020 02:48

Definitely Oral B. How many peppers does she have in her fridge? It looked like about 8, but nothing else. Plus I find the wobbling bottom very annoying.

The funeral insurance ads with June from next door and her unconvincing matey “Northern” accent. Although the latest ads seem to have ditched June (good).

Plus all of the hugely sentimental “we’re all in it together” Covid/isolation themed ads, especially those with scenes of empty playgrounds or filmed on crappy home video. Really cynical, and I’m not buying it.

Nationwide - all of their campaigns over the last few years have been bloody terrible IMO. The dreadful poetry, Flo & Joan, the stand-up “comedians”, and especially the smug “sunrises” people.

Destroyedpeople · 25/05/2020 02:53

Oh! Carol Vorderman wearing a jumpsuit and wielding a chainsaw while she tries to sell old people life assurance is pretty scary. Not least for the old people. I would buy whatever she was selling just to get rid if her , the psycho.

Drysnitchinsbitchin · 25/05/2020 03:50

The breakdown one with the child singing Proud Mary. I don't like the super imposed mouth, same when they do talking animals.

monkeytennis97 · 25/05/2020 03:54

Any of those bloody zoom or teams adverts, eg Natwest or Halifax

Taddda · 25/05/2020 04:00

That Tampax horror that involves a tv presenter matily shouting ‘Shove’em up there, girls!’

Oh, this this this !! How did that get the okay!? Wrong in so many ways!

Taddda · 25/05/2020 04:04

Snoop Dogg with the Just eat one.....lol is he that desperate for money

I thought the same about 'Random De Niro'! How much do they pay!? Shock

Animum2 · 25/05/2020 09:17

I'm going to add the Garnier adverts to this list. Who is the American actress? I can't put a name on it

Pelleas · 25/05/2020 09:25

@PiggyPlumPie I love 'Awesome screen, awesome camera, long lasting battery life'. I sing it to my cats Grin.

Another vote on awful ads for Nationwide - I don't care what nonsense you want to babble to yourself in six months' time - and when the time comes, nor will you because it'll be irrelevant.

MonaLisaDoesntSmile · 24/08/2020 13:34

@Rebellenny I know this is old but YESS, blooming Galbani
How can all those people get it wrong so many times?????
