What have you achieved today, no matter how small?

Feeling drained, anxious, sad and exhausted today. But so far I have managed to

Get out of bed, feed the children and pets

Have a bath and get the DCs washed and dressed

Put a wash on

Sat outside for a bit having a cuppa and listened to the birds

My mental health is shot to pieces so I'm celebrating the very small wins today.

Got up.

I didn't need to ask dh what day it was.

Thighmageddon · 16/05/2020 12:24

This is the attitude me and dd have right now, we're happy with the small wins.

Today I've got dressed in jeans rather than sports leggings or joggers.

I've brushed my hair, I keep not bothering to brush it.

CremeEggThief · 16/05/2020 12:25

Got up, made toast and 2 cups of tea. Will wash up before have a shower.

ChimpyChops · 16/05/2020 12:25

Made the boys my sausage and bacon 'mcmuffins'.
They love them. I'm no good at the home schooling or anything else tbh but this makes them smile.

imsooverthisdrama · 16/05/2020 12:28

Also feeling down, I've got up showered, dressed .
Got dc dressed
Pegged washing out
Emptied recycling
Planned what to have to eat tonight .
I'm going to go for a walk shortly got to try and shake this mood .

slipperywhensparticus · 16/05/2020 12:28

A shower

NuffSaidSam · 16/05/2020 12:30

I'm up and somewhat dressed.

I've managed to read about four pages of an actual book, in between my reading of Mumsnet and Twitter.

I've put some clean laundry away.

Sparklingbrook · 16/05/2020 12:32

Put the washing on
Emptied all the bins in the house
Showered and dressed (not face and hair as yet)
Hoovered the hall and sorted the cat litter tray.

Is it Wine time yet?

ClientQ · 16/05/2020 12:34

Got up, dressed and put makeup on

Otterses · 16/05/2020 12:39

I built a den! It's huge and fabulous and full of pillows and furry throws and I plan to still be sitting in it when DS goes to bed tonight Grin

DS and I are washed and dressed too. Don't plan on achieving much else today.

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 16/05/2020 12:40

Had a lie in. First genuine good night's sleep in weeks.
Feels like a win

popcorndiva · 16/05/2020 12:41

Finally gone through the wrapping from Christmas to sort what can be recycled. It's been sitting in a bag in the spare room since then.

Chanel05 · 16/05/2020 12:41

Put up some pictures on the wall with command strips. It's been on my to-do-list for months.

Sparklingbrook · 16/05/2020 12:41

@ClientQ I have been asked on another thread if I wear make up because of vanity. Sad Grin

Flippinfurloughed · 16/05/2020 12:45

Put make up on too #teamvanity Grin

Been proper grumpy so went for a walk and have done my 8k steps for the day. Going to sit on my bum and eat crisps now.

Thighmageddon · 16/05/2020 12:47

I put makeup on last week, first time in weeks. I kept looking in the mirror and saying "hello gorgeous" Grin

I am quite vain though.

Nacknick · 16/05/2020 12:48

Tidied the butter compartment in the fridge drawer.

Well you did say "no matter how small" 😂

FuckThisWind · 16/05/2020 12:48

My Dad gave me loads of strawberry plants, so I had the ingenious idea of making a hanging planter from a shoe organiser. I felt bloody knackered after I'd finished so just lay down on my bed for 5 mins (my arthritis is really getting the better of me lately) then I saw your thread, clicked on it, then made a deal with myself. Get up, quickly strip the whiffy bed linen off and bung it in the wash, then you can read the thread. It didn't take as long as I thought, and I'd have put it off till tomorrow otherwise. So thank you!

What have you achieved today, no matter how small?
Sparklingbrook · 16/05/2020 12:49

Maybe I should start a thread for all of us vain people. Apparently also make up may be used to make yourself look younger. I am in the house with DH and DS2 though and there's no fooling them. Grin

OhioOhioOhio · 16/05/2020 12:50

Great thread idea. I've started a bit of cleaning and caught up with a friend.

MinesaPinot · 16/05/2020 12:51

Been up the road to get a paper and have a wander round the village.

Got two loads of washing out on the line.

Done an online Superdrug order.

Intend to wallow on sofa with a trashy film this afternoon whilst DH does a WhatsApp call with a few mates (I should do an online exercise class but nah....)

ohlookthisisjustdaftnow · 16/05/2020 12:53

Been to the supermarket.

Gone for a walk in the woods.

Tidied the drawers in the kitchen, which were in a right old mess.

Now drinking coffee and listening to the lawnmower as DH cuts the grass.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 16/05/2020 12:53

I’m feeling very low and flat today. But I have got up, set DD up on her online music lessons, made coffee , changed my sheets and done 10 minutes of yoga. In ten minutes I’ll have a shower and put proper clothes on instead of yoga kit.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 16/05/2020 12:54

Oh, and I did some ironing.

WildOrchids67 · 16/05/2020 12:55

I've put washing on, done the dishes, taken out the recycling, cleaned the bath, tidied the living room and folded my bags for life into little triangles. I thought I'd barely done anything but it looks like a lot now it's written down!
