What have you achieved today, no matter how small?

Feeling drained, anxious, sad and exhausted today. But so far I have managed to

Get out of bed, feed the children and pets

Have a bath and get the DCs washed and dressed

Put a wash on

Sat outside for a bit having a cuppa and listened to the birds

My mental health is shot to pieces so I'm celebrating the very small wins today.

I sold our house .

mum2jakie · 28/05/2020 21:37

Work, walk and washing.

MrsAvocet · 29/05/2020 01:38

Congrats on the house sale manitobajane that must be a relief in the present circumstances.
I walked to the sign at the start of our village and back, so probably about 1.5 miles and I did part without crutches. Not much, but 6 weeks ago I couldn't get from my bed to the loo without crutches so it is good progress really.

listsandbudgets · 29/05/2020 10:56

almost nothing. I made boiled egg and toast and 2 cups of tea. A whole laid of things need doing but cant summon the energy.

This afternoon I need to get DS to produce a poster about mini bugs.. half terms nearly over hit this is a lesson I couldn't face last week. Also for same reason we need to design a Norman castle over the weekend.

I'm going to do some things and will report back in a few hours

Congratulations on the house sale Manitobajane a triumph especially in lockdown

lucysmam · 29/05/2020 14:33

I've not achieved much today.

Been to work & come home. Stopped for a chat with a friend, from the end of her driveway, on my way home.

I'm wondering whether it's a bit late to paint my pantry shelves now.🤷‍♀️

Going to wash up the girls' lunch pots first though. I'd usually get them to do it but they're Minecrafting together & it's really peaceful right now!

manitobajane · 29/05/2020 14:58

Yes, such a relief as we had to delay the sale. Thanks.

Bluewavescrashing · 29/05/2020 15:13

I've been tutting at my neighbours as they are having a new drive done - nothing wrong with the old one at all, just smooth tarmac. They have been drilling noisily for 2 days solus and have just taken delivery of a portaloo. Which will stink.

In terms of my achievements though:

I Hoovered and mopped all floors
Cleaned one bathroom
Read a chapter of my book
Listed some clothes for sale
Did a load of washing

Sounds like your neighbours have more money then sense Bluewavescrashing, still i guess at least they're keeping someone in employment..

Today i went to the garden centre, and bought too many plants, but they'll bring me happiness, so what the heck!

Bluewavescrashing · 29/05/2020 19:18

Ooh Garden centre. I haven't been to one for ages!

Yes you are right, they've completely done up their house--fair enough - now it seems they've run out of stuff to do so pointless drive refurb is the new project.

If those twattish builders rock up at 8am tomorrow and start blasting their radio and drilling I shall be most upset! Hoping they take the weekend off.

It was worse then that, the cafe was open for takeouts, so i bought the biggest piece of Coffee and Walnut cake ever, too! ... l reckoned i needed some extra energy for all the digging and re-potting Grin

Oh blimey, what with the portaloo, and the smell of tarmac, you better keep your windows shut Bluewavescrashing.. fingers crossed they don't work at weekends!

listsandbudgets · 29/05/2020 19:59

In the end achieved something. Been feeling lousy all day due to what seems to be a kidney infection. Hurt to walk but also hurt to lie down or sit or anything really so tried to do useful things despite pain and fever. 99% sure its not covid not least because i think I've already had it a few weeks ago.

DP more or less forced GP to phone me and I got antibiotics prescribed which he picked up for me.
I swept and mopped kitchen floor, made the beds, collected up washing, got DS to make I mainly made a poster about bl**dy earthworms, made lunch and dinner... all between very frequent toilet visits and gently sobbing because my back hurt so much

Whole house looks like a tip again though so do wonder what the point was :(

boatyardblues · 29/05/2020 20:03

Emptied all the little bins around the house.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 29/05/2020 20:13

I got the knots out of dd's hair!

Also did a food shop

Bluewavescrashing · 29/05/2020 20:15

@listsandbudgets get well soon. I've had a kidney infection and it's just awful. Hope you can rest this evening.

Defrosted the beer fridge

I also went to make some ice as found some bags. Now I've known for years (20 odd) that there is a groove in the fast freeze compartment that I assumed was for another shelf and always wondered where it was

Today thought right I'm going to make a shelf but decided to try a tray in there to see how big I would need it. It fitted perfectly

I can freeze twice the amount of ice bags
