Which foods do you like to eat the wrong way?

Lighthearted, in case anyone feels offended by the idea of there being a "right" way to eat certain things!

I like my pasta and rice to be cooked until properly soft, not al dente.

I also dislike meat cooked rare in most cases. Beef is ok, but any sort of game makes me heave when I cut into it and it's still bloody in the middle.

And cereal has to be dry - no milk. I can't bear good that was once crisp when it's gone all soggy and limp.

Food, obviously, not good.

OP I hate soggy cereal too. I'll only put a small amount in the bowl with a splash of milk and eat it really quickly before it goes soggy then will have another bowl.

I can't stand it when you go to restaurants and the vegetables are still half raw. I like them properly cooked with just a slight bite but not soggy.

Curry has to have vinegar on it 😎

I much prefer to eat custard cold. The temperature contrast between hot pudding and cold custard is just delicious.

MaMaMyCorona · 10/05/2020 12:04

I also don't like pasta aldente and I love raw mushrooms.
I also love proper crusty bread but hate toast
Also I don't like stuffing when it's all cripsy and oven cooked, I just add hot water and a knob of butter then microwave it- which i know seems disgusting but when it's covered in gravy with a roast dinner it's amazing Grin

I eat KitKats without snapping them in half. I did it in the staff canteen and there was an audible intake of breath Confused Blush

Any pudding that’s supposed to be hot tastes much better cold. Specially apple crumble or Christmas pudding.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 10/05/2020 12:10

I just had a bowl of cold custard and warm stewed apples for my breakfast, Agelikewine. Perfect contrast. Dh thinks I a deviant.

Me too! So does 14yo dd, who says her friends are appalled by this. Grin

Burgers and pizza with a knife & fork, much to DS’s disapproval.

JohnnyJohnnyYesMama · 10/05/2020 12:16

I always bite the chocolate off of a milky way first then eat the inside 😋

IcanandIwill · 10/05/2020 12:16

A spoon and a jar of pesto is my idea of heaven! Cake mix unbaked and cold custard.

Thecazelets · 10/05/2020 12:19

I only like crusts of bread, not the crumb.

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 10/05/2020 12:20

Oh, also - bananas have to be still a bit green and underripe. As soon as they have any black spots, the smell and texture of them turns my stomach.

I like cold custard on hot puddings too. Surely if enough of us eat it like that, it will become the right way...?

Not the wrong way round but perhaps an odd combination- I love sausages dipped in salad cream.

OhTheseSummerNiiiiights · 10/05/2020 12:24

Oooh yes. Definitely.

I do always keep wrappers on chocolate bars and biscuits and get unreasonably annoyed when people take them off Angry

Crinkle77 · 10/05/2020 12:26

@lazylinguist I don't either. I bite either end then nibble the chocolate off the sides then the top and finally the wafer. Only way to eat a Kit Kat.

Bluesheep8 · 10/05/2020 12:30

And putting it in the fridge, then nibbling all the chocolate off a bounty bar whilst leaving the coconut intact and undamaged is definitely the right way to eat it!

Abreadsandwich · 10/05/2020 12:39
Shock I knew someone would admit to this blatant crime!! Its unbelievably wrong!

This was the quote I was meant to add!!Blush

Crinkle77 · 10/05/2020 12:41

Definitely @Bluesheep8

UtterFabulousness · 10/05/2020 12:49

Agree with pp that crumble needs to be eaten cold.

Crisps should be in a sandwich with cheese

Pizza tastes better cold the next day

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 10/05/2020 12:49

I have to admit, I don't usually snap KitKats in half either. It's because you get little flecks of chocolate everywhere and it's too easy to then smudge them into your clothes. In fact, I tend to stick to the Chunky variety these days.

The more I post, the odder I look...

I like bolognese and I like pasta but I dont think they go well together at all.
I rather eat the dry pasta with tuna and the bolognese sauce with potatoes.
